Description of Work: Had hot water heater spring a leak at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning! Called Lowe's when they opened at 6:00 and found that in spite of their "order by noon it's installed today" ad line it would take at least a week to get a new water heater installed. Called Home Depot, same story. Went through Angies list and called A & P. They promised to have someone out same day and he arrived about an hour and a half later. Did a quick look and told me what I already knew (water heater had a leak) and quoted $650 to replace. Since I knew that the heater itself would cost about $450-$500 I told him to go ahead. Install job was very professional, he reinforced the existing closet floor, added a spill pan and did a nice job on the soldering. I graded down a bit on promptness and professionalism as he arrived about an hour after he told me he'd be there and his assistant seemed clueless and he berated him in front of me

Description of Work: I woke up early Saturday after 0100 to wash my hands and when I turned the faucet off, I could hear large amounts of water running but didn't see anything inside the house. I ran outside to open the manhole in my front yard to turn off the water. The needle on the meter was going crazy and I could hear loads of water rushing out somewhere. Six hours later I called four plumbers. One said he would charge me $75 just to assess the situation and then needed a special tool to check if the leak was underground. Another plumber said I'd have to wait 'til Monday. Another plumber said he'd show up in 30 minutes and never came. The last plumber said he'd have to pull out my tub, toilet, concrete and dig in the front yard to find the problem. After a faster prayer I opened the yellow pages to A&P Plumbing. Master Plumber Marcos M. Carmona answered and said he'd be at my house in 30 minutes. He was. He turned the water back on, went into the house and immediately determined that the hose bib in the back yard had corroded. Water was gushing everywhere. He put a new brass hose bib on and he was polite, professional, extremely efficient. I was sweating when it was time to pay. ALL that for a mere $94. A decent and outstanding plumber is hard to come by, especially on a Saturday. WOMEN: Call Marcos. He WON'T rip you off. Men: He's a Marine Veteran so you need to stand by and support him, just for his service to God and country. This guy is really good. At 16, he was the YOUNGEST licensed plumber in the state of Texas. THAT itself is totally impressive. I am so happy to have a plumber I can count on, who is excellent and didn't rip me off or take advantage of me. HE GETS a DOUBLE, TRIPLE A+.
