 + -1 moreI needed double gates installed on both sides of my house and was very specific on how I wanted them to look. I called so many companies in the El Paso area for quotes, I actually made a spreadsheet to keep up with everyone. Out of the forty or so companies I called, A-1 had the best warranty and was in my budget. They were the second most inexpensive company. I didn't go with the cheapest because they didn't offer a warranty and wanted to use cheap materials. The owner came out, took measurements and pictures, and sat down with me to hear what I was looking for exactly. We met a second time and he drew up a sketch of the gate, the materials used, how it will be built, and the cost. He took into account where I lived, what kind of weather I have, what the ground is like at my house, and how often the gates will be used to determine what materials to use and how to design and then build it. They don't buy the gates like this, they make the gates themselves. During installation, a neighbor one street over noticed them and asked Victor to come look at his house when he was done with mine. I walked by that house yesterday and his gates are a different design, but just as beautiful. Note: A-1 also does landscaping and concrete work.
Description of Work: I had double gates installed on both sides of my house. I have high winds and these gates are very heavy. Victor made sure to find the thickest, strongest steel posts available. He concreted them two feet into the ground as well as bolted them to the rock walls. These gates turned out beautifully. I was very specific on how I wanted them made and he followed it completely. He came into my house to take a picture of the scroll work on my stairs to try and match the design for the gates. Pros about this company: They have a better warranty than anyone else in El Paso They are very affordable - especially for the high quality work they do. The employees are very punctual They take the time to do things right, not the quick and easy way They know what they're doing They make a detailed written plan and estimate for you There are no hidden fees or surprise costs. Everything is upfront. I didn't pay one cent more than what was on the estimate. If they can't do something, they will tell you so. They won't do shoddy work just to say yes to a request. They do not charge tax for military as their thank you. Cons Owner isn't as punctual like his employees. If you are meeting with him, make it clear to him he is to be on time if you have a tight schedule. I never had anything going on so it wasn't a big inconvienence for me, but it might be for someone else. He may need to invest in a watch, but he knows what he's doing and he's great to work with.
