Very well. Another reputable company who had been in business for 40 years could not figure out why my master bedroom was always 4-5 degrees hotter than the rest of home. They blamed it on several factors which was incorrect . This company immediately knew what needed to be done by doing an air balancing and now my master bedroom is as cool as the rest of the house. I decided to buy a new unit also , which had nothing to do with the cooling problem in the master bedroom. I would call them again if I need too.

Great! They couldn't replace our system right away, so they sent the repairman who spent three to four hours installing a temporary air conditioner so we would be comfortable. They also financed the purchase of our new system. They have all been wonderful at Cytec.
Description of Work: Paid a general service fee of 79 dollars for the first visit. The bad news was we needed either a new compressor and a coil cleaning, or a new system which we decided to go with because we have been a bit warm upstairs.

From beginning to end the process went very smoothly. We started with a service call as the AC was not cooling well. It was found that the unit (outside and in the attic) had to be replaced though there was no pressure. The technician did say he could service the unit and with the service it would probably last a while longer. We decided to replace the system as the units are used year round with the south Texas temperatures are were 13+ years old. The technician was very professional and thorough patching the old system to get us through as the weather was in the 105 degree range all week. The company made an appointment to install the system and arrived as planned. This is very refreshing as we experience many companies who simple do not show up without repeated calls. The two young men who came to complete the install were very professional, cleaned up after themselves and stayed until everything worked as it should. I truly don't know how the two young men were able to complete the task as the temperature was SOOOO hot especially in the attic but work they did. I was very impressed from beginning to end and highly recommend this company.

Employees at Cytech were very courteous and assisted with the scheduling. I had never purchased thru Angie's and didn't know how it worked. The office manager assisted graciously and scheduled the work. The technician stopped by later than expected but I was called before to verify that someone would be home. The technician answered our many questions and made suggestions that would help us in saving on our electricity and maintenance on our AC unit. Additional estimate was scheduled and they were able to meet our timeframes. We are considering getting additional work done by Cytech.

Horrible service to get scheduling. Finally a time was set for Friday between 4-6pm. I made sure I was available at that time by leaving work early. Cytech never arrived. I get a phone call a little after 7pm apologizing that they were running late and would be there within 15 minutes. I told them that would not work since I had dinner plans with my wife for 730pm. They insisted they were really close by. I became really upset (but calm) at the insistence and lectured them how I had waited for them for hours and sacrificed several hundred dollars in two billable hours by leaving work early. They apologized and insisted they had a tech ready to be at my home right away. I broke it down to them that it was not going to happen. I told them I expected them to show up tomorrow morning. The manager wouldn't allow it because it was only for "emergency calls". To shorten the story, they would not budge on the Saturday visit. I cautioned them that I would be leaving accurately poor reviews on Angie's List, Yelp, and all other reviewing sites to warn as may people as possible. Overall: I assume their techs are good, but their Customer Service is worthless! I will not do business with a company that cannot keep their word. It makes me upset thinking about how many other people they probably do this to on a daily basis; people who miss work and may not be able to afford it. I would hate to take them to Justice Court (aka "small claims") for their breach of contract as well as other cause of action, however, I'm blessed to have earned a law degree, so I am strongly contemplating moving forward with it so they can learn to respect their agreements and other people's time. I will pray on it.

I again would like to apologize to Mr [Member Name Removed] that he did not have a good experience with our staff. To explain a few things I would like to start with the fact that we do not give out exact appointment times. We strive to do our best the first time we are at a residence and some times this calls for the technician to be there longer than expected. So we usually say afternoon or morning or something like "after 4pm". We advise we will call when we have a technician available so that the customer can meet us so there is not too much of a disruption of their schedule. We value ALL of our customers time and try our best to take care of everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible without reducing the level of service. We tried to do the visit that day even though it was later than what he expected. The service he purchased is only for regular business hours. It is stated clearly on the Angie's List website as such. Even Mr [Member Name Removed] himself notes how many times we apologized for the delay and tried to get the service completed. Unfortunately that did not work with his schedule. Therefore I am glad he received a prompt refund for all fees he paid.

In the past if they sent someone out they stayed til the problem was fixed = this time they sent someone out = didn't tell us til after they charged us $75 that they couldn't do anything til 6 days later. We are both over 60 years old and care for several animals that are over 10 years old and are kept inside. My husband told the guy when he left that we would never use them again. For that reason I can't give them a good review. They could have told us when we stopped by their office that they weren't available that day. Since in the past if they sent someone out they only sent them out if they could repair the problem that day, we were under the assumption they were available to repair the problem. We have also heard nothing from them since they left. WE are not new customers = we have used them for years but their attitude that day was horrible. We live in a mobile home and it is in the 90's outside.

I can only apologize to the [Member Name Removed]'s for the way this was handled. We strive to never leave anyone not cooling. Unfortunately this summer with over 80 days over 100 degrees has us and I assume most other air conditioning companies stretched thin. When we normally diagnose a coil clean we usually do set it up for another day as that job takes multiple hours and sometimes multiple technicians to perform. Even in the past for the [Member Name Removed]'s we set up their coil cleans for days other than the original day it was recommended. I cannot say for sure at this point if the wait was six days, but being it was a Friday call I can see it would have rolled over to the next week, which is less than ideal. As for us not calling them back to schedule it was made clear to our technician that they would call us to schedule. We are not perfect but we do strive to take care of all our customers to the best of our ability and in this instance we did not live up to our own standards of quality care.

We picked Cytech from a listed of recommended AC contractors on Angie's List. They did have to competitively bid against another contractor. We worked with CyTech (Leo Cantu) for a couple of weeks hammering out the scope and details for the ac replacement. They were extremely professional and easy to work with, given the fact that we were developing the proposal remotely (me in the New Orleans area and CyTech in Edinburg Texas). They answered all our questions and went the extra step to ensure that we could use the updated electrical system by having the owner personally come to our house and look at the configuration. They even recommended a LOWER tonnage AC unit after their visit, saving us hundreds of dollars from the previous estimate. The job itself started on Monday and the crew performed very well all the while being courteous to my mother. The crew worked into the evening of the second day to ensure that a minimally operational AC unit was available to provide cooled, dehumidified air, delivered through a few selected vents including the bedrooms. That was real commitment by CyTech to ensure they wouldn't have to go through another hot humid night. They completed the balance of the work, including a new duct system by late Wednesday afternoon. We did have a bit of a concern when looking at the outside condensing unit, based on the dimensions we measured. I was sure that we did not have the correct unit. The system was shorter that we had thought, and was definitely shorter than listed in the Lennox literature on the Lennox webpage. After Leo followed up, consulting with the owner, we were told that they had installed the latest Lennox unit. The reduced height was the result of incorporating a two deep evaporator coil system, maintaining the radiating surface area, but lowering the height f the unit. My sister went outside and spoke with the crew. They showed her the new design; I felt much better after that confirmation. The unit has been operating for just three days, but it has been fantastic. I especially love the Wi-Fi thermostat that was installed with the unit. I can see, from here in the New Orleans area, the current status of the unit, the temperature and indoor humidity. We can change the setpoints from our iPhones!!!...how much fun is that. I have asked them to proceed to add blown in insulation to the attic documented in a separate proposal. That work will be done after some minor repairs (shingle replacements) are completed on my mother's house roof. Five stars rating to CyTech.
Description of Work: Cytech provided a full replacement of our heating and cooling unit at my mother's house in Edinburg Texas. This work also include sheet rock repairs to the air handler closet , repair of a full length crack of the ceiling in my mother's bedroom and a total duct system replacement. The previous AC system had been in the house for approximately 30 years.

Normally Cytech charges a travel fee for work in Harlingen, but after talking to the friendly office staff, they agreed to waive the fee and instead call me when they had a technician already in Harlingen that could do my service next. They called later the same day and technician arrive less than 30 minutes later. He was very professional and did a great job.

Ronnie came out next day and performed the service. Great service very professional, friendly, and thorough. No pressure sales pitches or expensive "recommendations" just a solid System check. Air was not working. Called normal repair guy but after 3 days...no response. Checked on Angie's List and Cytech had high reviews. Called and scheduled a diagnostic appt. Received phone call from office when tech was in route. Reviewed our setup, found problem with compressor and was able to repair. Based on the repair, I believe other companies would have pushed a replacement compressor instead of trying to repair it. Two hours later, system was cooling again. Will utilize this company again in the future.

Cytech installed two new a/c systems at two apartments that I own. 2 Lennox 14.5 SEER, 2 ton complete systems. Total price $6580 ($3290 per system). They showed up on time and did a great job. Hess gave me an estimate of $5100 for ONE 13 SEER 2 ton Goodman. Way too expensive for a mediocre unit! Mike's wanted $95 just to come out and give me an estimate! Who does this? So Cytech blew the others away with a FREE estimate and far superior, far less expensive a/c systems.

I suggest you request a morning appointment. The technician showed up after 5pm and was in a terrible mood. He would ignore my questions and my husband was on the verge of throwing him out. He did not advise us of what he was doing and he removed one of the interior filters that he refused to replace. He did not have a ladder to access our attic so my husband brought ours in from the garage. We were glad when the A/C was working and glad he left.

I used their website feature to request a tech for residential A/C repair for the following day. But I received a phone call from Cytech a couple of hours later asking if I wanted service earlier as they had a tech available at that time, which worked out even better for me. The service call and repair was completed in 45 minutes after tech arrived in a efficient and professional manner. Tech even went above and beyond the repair and fixed up a couple of minor issues without charging me anything additional. I'll will be calling them again in the future should I need HVAC services!

This had to be one of the best customer service experiences that I have ever had. Esmer who is the office manager reached out to us and asked if we were okay and whether we preferred someone come out on Friday night and work on our unit or on Saturday morning. We chose to have the come by at about midnight. The gentleman who came by was extremely professional and friendly. Within 3 hours, he tried to find if it was another issue in efforts to save us money; however, we were not so lucky. His final verdict was a new unit. He provided us options on units with various costs, but he assured us that he would come by first thing in the morning to ensure that we had a temporary replacement unit to cool our house. Talk about awesome customer service. It was not long before the unit was up and working until my husband and I decided which unit to go with. The following Wednesday, Esmer had her guys standing by and ready to come place our new unit in our home. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience and I felt confident knowing that if anything happens in the future with our unit that these guys will come by no matter the date or time. Great job Cytech and thank you.

NOT IMPRESSED. From the start. Cytech's website has an appointment scheduling feature and an option for you to describe your A/C issue. I filled out the scheduling feature for a primary and secondary service time preference as well as writing a detailed narrative about our A/C situation. I then received a phone call from Cytech to schedule service and was told that they do not operate by scheduled times, but rather respond on a call by call basis. I insisted that we were only available to receive them at or about those given times and they relented. Additionally, I informed the Cytech phone rep. that I was a member of Angie's List and asked about any discounts. She stated that there was a 15% discount for Angie's List members and that this would be applied to the invoice. However, the A/C repair man gave us the invoice with no discount. Upon asking him about the discount, he stated that he knew nothing about any Angie's List discount and that he would have to call the office if we insisted. The office then instructed him to require us to verify that we were Angie's List members by showing him our account online and to also show him evidence of any discount because the office didn't seem to believe there was one. My wife pulled up our account online and there was a 10% discount showing. I don't know where the 15% discount came from that the phone rep. communicated to me, or why I was told that 15% would be applied to the invoice. I explained to the phone rep. and the A/C repairman that I ran a test on the A/C unit by setting the temperature to 72 degrees to see how long it would take to reach that temperature. The unit ran for 4 hours straight until we simply just cut it off because the test temperature could not be reached by the unit. 76 degrees is our desired temperature not 72 degrees, but we used 72 degrees for testing purposes only. The A/C repair guy took his time (paid by time) checking the A/C unit. He was there for approximately 1.5 hours to determine that nothing was wrong with the unit and that we should just buy a new air filter. Basically, I paid about 100 bucks for someone to tell me I should buy a new air filter. Awesome. Before, during and after Cytech's visit, the A/C turns on about every 5 min. to 10 min. and takes 10 min. to 20 min. to reach 76 degrees, depending on the time of day. It also operates loudly. Perhaps this is normal for this time of year, but all in all we were not impressed with the process or service offered by Cytech.

We are sorry for your bad experience with our company. I would like to address your complaints line by line so that we can see where we can improve on meeting the needs of clients such as yourself. 1. The schedule feature on our website is for approximates only, we need to do a better job of making that clear. However, your requested time was 2:30pm on July 23 and we were there at 2:25pm on that day. The feature seems to have worked well in this instance. 2. The tech was not given the narrative you wrote but was made aware of the call type. We encourage our techs to ask questions and try to get to the root of the problem themselves. We will be adding the info given from the website to the tech in more detail from now on. 3. We were called to your apartment because according to your service request, the unit was not cooling to your liking, From the design point of view, most engineers and architects design systems in South Texas to operate at 75 degrees indoor ambient temperature with an outdoor ambient temp of 99. So you can imagine if it is 100 or more outdoors it would require a longer run time to achieve the desired design temperature . So when you tried setting it at 72 degrees you can see that to reach that set point it would require an even longer run time to achieve that temperature. The dirty filter exacerbated the issue and added to the long run time to try and achieve your desired temperature. I am sure the architect and engineer used ASHRAE standards and Manual J load calculations to arrive at the desired load and equipment criteria when designing the system. Unfortunately the standards don't seem to fit your desired comfort level. However, the technician went through your system and all is in working order except for the filter being dirty. The technician made your wife aware of this and she contacted you on the phone again. We were told by her that you were bringing another one home with you and to leave it out. That is why there was no replacement left. I feel like we tried to help with your problem although you didn't get your desired answer and I apologize that we were unable to meet your needs in that department.
