We wanted someone that we felt like we could trust, would take care of the unit and would make proper recommendations for maintenance. We wanted someone who wouldn't just try to sell us the biggest fanciest thing and we felt Cytech guys told us the truth about our old system. They made the most sound proposals, not necessarily the most expensive or cheapest, but for the type of air conditioner we wanted and we appreciated that. I would recommend that we could ask them questions and get the answers in English without it being with a lot of mumbo jumbo. They seemed to be straight shooters and they won't necessarily tell what we wanted to hear, but they will tell what we need to do the job. They completed the project on time and they did what they said they were going to do.

They were polite and thorough with their work.

My daughter moved into a duplex near the UTPA campus and, sadly, started out with a broken air conditioner. The rental agency sent out a technician who put some freon in the unit but left after just an hour on site. The unit lasted one day before running constantly and unable to cool again. New to the area, my wife and I searched Angie's List for a reputable HVAC Service & Repair company. And, did we ever find one! The following morning I walked into CYTECH Heating & Cooling and was greated by Kyle Cyphers, the owner's son. He asked what he could do to help and immediately got Crystal Garza, the scheduler, to put me down on the board. Kyle escorted me over to Gail Cyphers, the owner, who assured me their company would see that my daughter's AC would work as it was designed to do. That afternoon, Louie De Luna, a 16 year veteran with CYTECH, came to the duplex and immediately took his guages and tools to the system and went to work. Louie worked for 4 1/2 hours before he left that night. He found air in the system, vacuumed it completely out, checked for leaks, and charged the system with 8 new pounds of freon. While he did that, Louie called for Rudy Vela to come over and fill an opening between the Air Handling Unit and the attic that had been letting heat into the house. Rudy was courteous and went straight to his work. When finished he cleaned everything so well, the new insulation wasn't even visible. It was a professional job that made the air handler unit closet look like finished new construction. Louie used a tool to measure the register air that had a laser light pointing to exactly what was being measured. He made sure the registers all read 60 degrees before he left at about 9:30 that night. The next day, the summer heat still kept the temperature in the house at near 80 degrees. I called CYTECH that afternoon and after speaking with Esmer Gonzales, another courteous and professional scheduler, she passed me to Gail. Gail asked what was happening and sent J.R. Ramirez, another experienced technician out that evening. J.R. checked the system further and found the compressor to be operating at less than half its capacity. He gave us the options of either replacing the compressor or the complete outside unit for a few hundred dollars more. The next morning Gail called to check in on how the unit was doing. She gave us the no-nonsense details on replacing the compressor or the outside unit. We chose to replace the outside unit. J.R. came out quickly with the new unit and worked another couple of hours installing it, cleaning up and tweaking the system before he left. At this point, we were sure the problem had been solved but the next day the temperature in the house was back up around 80 by the afternoon. Again, Gail called to check in with us on how the unit was doing. Again, quickly, both Louie and J.R. were back at the house checking the entire system. It was then that they discovered the air handler unit was one size and the outside unit was another size. Later that evening, a correctly sized unit was brought out to the house, installed and tested. Problem solved! Knowledgeable, experienced, tenacious, fair, courteous and professional describe everyone we worked with at CYTECH. Gail and all her employees are exactly the people you expect will help you solve an air conditioning problem. They work to fulfill their promise of giving the customer an operating unit that performs as it was designed!

Everything went well. A very professional and knowledeable young man arrived promptly and made the necessary repairs. He had also called to let me know when he was on his way which was great. When he had finished, the area was left completely clean which I appreciated. He advised me that his company works 24 hours a day and that it wouldn't let anyone spend the night without air conditioning. He is bilingual as well and speaks fluent Spanish and English.

They did a great job. It was really good. We will use them again if necessary.

The previous person I hired to do the same work did not check the system properly. However, Cytech were able to solve the problem. What I liked about their company is that they showed me different tools and explained to me what they were doing. They made sure the job was done correctly. I have not had any problems with the AC since then. They had the correct tools, and they were willing to share their knowledge. They gave good recommendations about the usage of the heating and cooling system and how to save money in the future. In their future services they will be including extra materials to give better heating and cooling. They will be offering more services in the future.

They were very quick and efficient. What they said they would do in a couple of days they got done in one day. They brought in extra help to get the job done. They have always been very responsive and helpful.
