+ -1 moreThe old thermostat stopped working completely and kept the heat on. The company advertized 24 hour service so I called and got their answering service. A couple of minutes later the technician, Ronnie, called me back and after I described the problem, he quoted me the approximate cost and came to my house. He was very helpful. He had the type of thermostat in his truck and and quickly replaced the defective one. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. I could not of asked for better service. I am going to signup for there semiannual maintenance and expect to use this company exclusively in the future.
Description of Work: Came in the middle of the night and replaced a thermostat. They provided the thermostat.

+ -1 moreCalled the company to schedule a technician to check out my AC. Heater went out the previous night. I told the operator I required a quote. I was not able to meet the tech at my home so I told my daughter to meet him there tp open the door. Tech arrived and checked the AC. The operator or tech did not get in contact with me to provide me with a quote. Instead the tech put pressure on my daughter to approve the work order. Daughter couldn't get in contact with me and called my wife. My wife ended approving the work order. I do not know where the disconnect was but I assume that if I call a company to make a service call, then they will contact the requestor to get the work order approved. When I managed to get in contact with them the tech already had began to dismantle the blower. Did not honor the angie's list 10% discount...... get three quotes on any work order before you get it repaired. If you leave the door halfway open for an opportunist, they will walk right thru it....

+ -1 moreI called early afternoon and explained my problem to Cytech. That same afternoon two repairmen came to my house. They called to make sure we were home first. Fixed my AC. Cooled GREAT. I asked them about cleaning, servicing and a AC tune up. I was instructed to call their office to set up an appointment. They were back to my house in 2 days as promised and right on time. After they finished the job they check EVERYTHING about my AC and also with an inferred gun they checked to make sure COLD air was blowing out of the registers and temperature to the return. Right on the button. My AC is working like new. I have my unit serviced once every 2 years by another company but I will use Cytech going forward. They really know what they were doing. Way to go !!!!

+ -1 moreSomeone called my back very quickly after I left a message with the answering service and gave me a time frame on when one of the repair techs would be able to make it out to my house and said she would call me when he was on his way to confirm with me. The tech was prompt, polite, very professional, and he was able to figure out the problem and give us a temporary solution until we could schedule for someone to come out and fix the issue.
Description of Work: Came out and inspected our ac unit to see why it was leaking.

+ -1 moreThese guys are great! We also use them for our business (Bourbon St Liquor, Wine & Beer in Edinburg). They are ALWAYS prompt and very professional, but I really like the fact that they are extremely honest!
Description of Work: Air condition stopped functioning. It turns out that we have a leak. Louie came out late in the evening and added refrigerant to the system plus whatever else he had to o to get it running again. He also mentioned that our Rheem unit is still under warranty. He will order another one from the manufacturer and come back to replace the faulty one which is four years old. We don't have to do a thing! Cytech will do everything for us in dealing with the manufacturer which is great!

Even though the heating and AC unit in our house was not a top quality brand, the service tech ensured the unit was performing properly and effeciently. Once the service tech had performed the service, he answered all of questions concerning the Pure Air unit for us. Because of our schedule, we asked if Cytech could get the Pure Air unit and have it installed within a three day window. The service tech made some phone calls back to the office to inquire about the possiblities. Cytech was able to provide us a reasonable estimate for the Pure Air unit and could meet our schedule to have the unit installed on time. We not only agreed to have the Pure Air installed on our existing unit, but signed up for a semi-annual maintenance program as well. We were satisfied by the quality of workmanship, professionalism and price of Cytech. We recommend Cytech to other members.
Description of Work: We called Cytech to provide a heating and AC service on a house we recently purchased. They provided an estimate for the service on the phone and we scheduled a time and date for the service to be performed. My wife has allergies, so we inquired about a solution to add to our existing unit to help battle dust in the home. They suggested to install the Pure Air unit and the tech who would be performiing the service would provide a brochure and answer our questions.

+ -1 moreTechnician tested unit and found everything in order. He did a visual inspection of upstairs attic space and did not see any obvious insulation problems. He did notice one duct joint he thought could be resealed. Technician made a recommendation to have a service call by duct crew to evaluate duct joints and possibly reseal. His evaluation led to ultimate solution of the problem by insulating of attic space walls.
Description of Work: Service call to evaluate hvac unit. Thermostat was being maintained 72 degrees to maintain a comfortable occupancy temp in the 2 upstairs bedrooms it serves. Theory was that thermostat was inaccurate or unit was in need of service.

+ -1 moreI told the person on the phone that combing the fins would be covered by our insurance but that I would be paying for fixing the heating. She immediately said she would prepare two invoices for the work so that I could fax just the invoice for the fins to our insurance. She did this before I had the chance to ask which I appreciated. As soon as a technician was available, I was called to let me know he was on the way. I was called again when the technician went to the wrong address. When he arrived, he immediately went to work on the heating problem, and within a few minutes had it diagnosed. He replaced the part and checked the system to be sure everything worked properly. He then worked on combing the fins. When he was finished, he had me come out to make sure he had done the job properly. He did an excellent job, and unless you knew we had had hail damage, you would not be able to tell anything had happened. I was very satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: We needed to have the fins combed on our A/C unit due to the hailstorm. We also needed to have our system checked to see why the heat did not come on during a recent cold spell. The technician found out he needed to replace the heat sequencer for our unit.

Description of Work: Excellent service. Highly recommended. I signed up for Angie's List this morning and got the number. I called them and they responded right away, which it is amazing for a Saturday morning. The lady who answered the phone was very polite and said someone would call me shortly. Within 5 minutes a technician called me to ask me for more specific information. He was very specific on their regular hourly and their overtime rates; he also gave me the approximate time it would take the technician to complete the job. Adan was the technician assigned to work on my air conditioner. He called ahead of time and arrived when he said he would (15 minutes). He explained everything to me and got the work done within the time I was quoted. I was able to pay for their services with my VISA from the convenience of my own home. I truly appreciate the work Cytech Heating and Cooling did on my A/C system. From the time I first made contact with them to the time I paid for the services, it was less than 3 hours. I live in deep South Texas, where normal weather is 100 degrees and above. My A/C was leaking water and it began to damage the indoor walls. We could not turn it on until it got repaired. Cytech save my family from spending an entire weekend without A/C with the indoor temperature at about 90 degrees. Thank you Cytech.

+ -1 moreIn terms of price it’s a service contract and one thing that we would mention is that we don’t always remember that it’s time for them come out again but they do and they do call and set the appointment with plenty of time in advance so that they could ensure that we are here and its convenient for us for them to come service our equipment so we really like that but they have it, we don’t have to think about it and they take care of it.

Needless to say my A/C units are 15 years old and one of the units was causing water to gush out from the ceilings. I immediately decided to join Angies List and did my quick research. This company did not come up first on the list but was near the top. I did call two other companies higher on the list but did not hear back quick enough. It was understandable because if was 7:30 pm in the evening but I needed someone ASAP since water was flowing down the hallway of my home. Cytech called me back within 15 minutes and were at my home within 25 minutes of the phone call! The Cytech employee Viviano Lopez came checked both my units and gave me great advice. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of or being pushed to pay for more then I needed repairs. In fact the Viviano came answered all my questions and fixed the problems with no hassles. The price for the repairs were fair and both my units are working better then ever.Thank you Cytechp.s. + -1 moreIt went well. the temperature is reaching it's set temp and the house is cool. Better than the previous tech who was trying to convince me to buy an outside compressor ($1,200.00) because according to him, mine has run its course after 7 years of life. The Valley is notorious for scammers!!!! I'm signing up with Cytech for their yearly maintenance program to keep up my AC in good condition.
Description of Work: I explained the problem to the Tech. He immediately went outside and checked the compressor. The compressor checked out and he then went to the upstairs to check the blower. He immediately found the problem and mentioned to me that a relay had gotten stuck and was concurrently running the heater and the AC. This was preventing the house to reach the set temp. He left to get the part and came back to install it. He did a little more troubleshooting to it but fixed it within two hours.

+ -1 moreI own a construction company and needed them to come out to do an AC comb. They were more than prompt as they were able to get to it the same day. The service charge was better than their competition as well. They wrote a professional report as the condensor needed replacing. Once we got insurance approval to replace, they were able to locate the item and have it installed within 3 days of me giving the approval. They are installing it today actually. I will be using them for all my AC needs!!!

I called one evening and they said they will have somebody come right away with no overtime charges, and you don't find that too often. We haven’t had any problems with the quality of the service at all, and we haven't had any call backs.They answer my call immediately and they come on time. Overall, they were very good.

+ -1 moreI called and discussed the problem. CyTech sent a crew of three out, examined ductwork (in ceiling and in outdoor unit), found problems (leaks and poorly fitting ducting, and fixed them. They were very thorough. They gave a quote and stuck by it, although much more work and time was required than expected. To check the work, an additional supervisor came out and measured the air flow through each register. They then balanced the air flow in the house, maximizing it. They also measured current on the fan motor, findng it low. They are replacing the motor today (11/11/01) at n o additional charge. Replacing the motor will increase air flow. The resulting air flow was near the nominal design, given the tonnage. I am an engineer and have done analysis of HVAC systems, and regard CyTech very highly. The turn-around time between my initial contact and their doing the job was one or two days. They arrived when they promised. They are very honest, diligent and capable.
Description of Work: Evaluate A/C air ducts and repair. I had a problem of very low air flow into the living space and an inability to achieve comfort in very hot weather..
