Castillos Painting & Remodeling

We hired Castillo's to remove and replace our tile floor. Throughout the process, the owner was friendly and informative. I had high hopes for this project and the company we chose. From the beginning, the workers did not show up when they were supposed to. When I asked the owner where they were, she always had an excuse. I would have preferred to have been contacted beforehand. Many things were promised that never happened. The "cleaning" crew came in at the end of the job and used our mop. The owner said it would be replaced even though I didn't mention it. This didn't happen. The workers left our house a mess - cigarette butts and tile dust were left in our front yard. Door frames, baseboards, and our jacuzzi tub were cracked. Our cabinets and baseboards were heavily scratched, our new paint was scraped off during the process, and the caps from the toilet disappeared. The owners came and looked at the damages and said that they would be repaired. They gave us a date, but of course did not show. In the meantime, we discovered a tile that was not adhered to the floor at all, and we found several places that were missing grout and bubbles started to form. One worker came out and filled in the bubbles. I showed him the loose tile, and he said he would inform the owner. After this, I never heard from them again. I texted repeatedly and sent messages through facebook but got no response, despite being promised that "we will never leave you high and dry." I should have held onto the final payment, but I didn't anticipate finding so much destruction, and I trusted this company to stick to what they promised. Aside from all the damage and mess left behind, some tiles are not even, there's still gaping holes where grout should be, and the pattern of the tile is off in many places. I would not recommend this company for a large job like this. From talking to the owner, I believe they know what they're doing, they just don't follow through.

Timeline was way too long, employees would sometimes not show up AT ALL with no notice to me from contractor; tile cutting was inaccurate - not many clean lines, multiple tiles where slightly chipped even though I specifically told her to be very careful with them; they left a HUGE MESS afterwards -grout stains on baseboards and floors- I sent her multiple pictures of proof of this, the husband got after ME for not telling him??!! She asked to come back and clean it up, I finally let her, they only came 1 day even though she said she would come the whole week and AGAIN left me a mess of grout stains. Additionally, grout is slowly but SURELY coming out. Finally, they broke one of my baseboards that I was going to reuse and a hanging part of glass from my chandelier. The only semi-good thing they did was sand and paint the wood walls, of which I'm only finding small mistakes.

They are essentially doing all the remodeling in my house. They're pretty good at everything. They are going to paint the inside of the house. They are also going to remodel my kitchen and do my landscaping.
