Description of Work: Found out why dishwasher wasn't working and gave options for repair. Either replace the control panel or trying to clean the connector contacts. Cleaning the contacts brought back some functionally for now, but a panel replacement may be required in the future.

Description of Work: A service man came to determine what was wrong with my Maytag washing machine. It appeared he had no knowledge of my particular model, even though I provided the exact model information when I requested the service call. He called someone on the phone and somehow they determined it was the computer board and proceeded to order one "to see if that would fix the problem", but he indicated he wasn't sure if that was it or not and mentioned that the buttons on the control panel might not work after he switched the board out. Estimated cost of repair $385.00. Fortunately after he left I discovered that I had an extended warranty for the washer, so I was able to cancel the return visit. The actual problem with the machine was that it needed a new drain pump, so am glad I did not let them touch my washing machine again. This was a total waste of $49.00.
