+ -1 moreVarnell Electrical Contracting gave me an exorbitant bid. I was shocked. He called me back quickly. He was on a job, he took the time right then to get all my information, took a few minutes for him to make the calculations, came back and gave me a quote. He was very responsive, quick, professional, polite. It was all really great. But the estimate was way too much what I was willing to pay. It was so high, I didn't even want to know a breakdown or anything like it. From where I live and where he's located, it's really less than 20 miles. So I didn't think that he had to travel a long distance.
Description of Work: I got a bid from Varnell Electrical Contracting for ceiling fan replacement and changing the color of fixed wall plugs.

+ -1 moreI called Varnell Electric on a Monday, Chad Varnell came to my home that day and gave me an estimate. I agreed with the terms of the estimate and he and his assistant came to my home the next day and completed the work in approximately four hours. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.
Description of Work: This company installed new electrical outlets, installed lights in laundry room, attached light kit to ceiling fan, installed new ceiling heater and vent fan in bathroom, re-wired a portion of the attic and installed light in attic, installed spotlight to the outside of garage, rewired portion of hot water heater, replaced several light switches which were overheating, and added several new dimmer switches.

He came to my house around 4 p.m. He reviewed the wiring and advised me that I really needed to have my electric panel re-secured to the house. He gave me a written estimate. (He has a computer and a printer in his truck.) I accepted the estimate. He did the work, including removing a few heat strips from the furnace so that it would not draw as much amperage and consequently not heat the wires to the point that they caught on fire.
Description of Work: Reattached the electric panel to the house and repaired furnace wiring damaged by fire.
