Have used company for years. Always on time. Never miss a day. These guys even work holidays. Take extra bags of trash without charging. Ownership recently changed, and I thought quality of service may change, but it hasn't. Stil great, reliable service. They have never done a single thing for me to complain about. And that is saying quite a bit.

Business started with this company on the basis of offering a discount to my subdivision. Apparently, we only were offered a discount for a very short time. When recently asked about the discount, I was told by the Recon representative that this was only if "everyone" switched over. There are over 130 properties in our subdivision and each owner chooses his own trash collection services. It would be impossible to expect 100% conversion in this case, especially considering Recon wasn't the lowest priced service even after the discount they were offering. Classic bait and switch. Pick-up services were fine until recently. Due to a missing invoice, there was an outstanding balance on my account. Recon stopped picking-up my trash and recyclables, but I didn't notice since I missed some weeks due to travel. When I finally noticed, I called the company and they explained the outstanding balance. However, the way that they communicate this is via stopping service. They never mailed a second copy of the invoice. Their records did indicate one courtesy call was made to my old telephone number. However, the courtesy call was nearly a month after they stopped picking-up. Terrible professionalism and customer service. When asked when I could have my trash picked-up, I was told there's a $25 charge for a special pick-up. That's nearly the price for one month's service. They acknowledged that they only called after the fact and didn't even make a connection, however they weren't willing to offer any customer courtesy. Trash pick-up is more or less a commodity service. I imagine most customers choose on price first, and then on customer service. If Recon is already a more expensive service, then I expect superior customer service and professionalism. This company doesn't deliver in that area.
