We bought a house that had one room that needed wood flooring to match the rest of the house. I took a sample to Home Depot and they couldn't find a match. I happened to drive by Carter Floors and More and decided to stop in. Kerry was busy but she was able to look at my sample and find a match within a couple of minutes. I asked her to price it up and the price was reasonable. She was also able to get the installation set up quickly. Her installation team did a fantastic job and were in and out in no time. The only small issue was that the trim didn't really match. But the good thing is that Arthur, on Kerry's team, is the one that pointed it out and he offered to come back later and re-stain it. I didn't even have to suggest it. All in all, a great experience. I would highly recommend Carter Floors and More!

Contacted Kerry about getting an estimate. Kerry came out quickly and provided a great estimate for doing the three bedrooms. They were willing to work with us and did each bedroom a different week. The gentlemen that did the work were prompt, removed the old carpet and baseboards, worked quickly laying down the tile (Marazzi American heritage), and came back the next day to finish the floor by doing the grout work. They also did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed. As previously mentioned they did each bedroom a different week and all three rooms looked fantastic afterwards.
Description of Work: Three bedrooms needed the carpeting/baseboards removed and porcelain tile laid in its place.

Otis Carter and his team were easy to work with. During my initial consultation with Otis, he was able to recommend a tile product that was perfect for my needs. The installation crew was hard working, efficient, and incredibly fast. Everything was finished ahead of the original estimate. The final price was exactly the same as the original estimated price. I feel that the quality of work was very good for the price.
Description of Work: Installed approximately 700 sq ft of porcelain tile.

After shopping around for options to replace our carpet, we visited Carter Floors here in Dripping Springs. If given the opportunity we like to support the local businesses. On our first meeting with Otis he went into a lot of detail about the particular wood flooring and we left the store convinced we would be back and buying wood floors. After more research we decided our house would be better suited for tile and returned to see what Otis had available. He was off site inspecting another job but was expected to return shortly. So we visited with his Grandmother Carter who pointed out various products ... she is a wonderful/charming woman and very energetic. While we were walking around, Otis arrived and started explaining the difference between some of the wood-looking porcelain tiles. We decide that we liked the Marazzi American Heritage tile and after a week called to let him know we wanted to move forward with the job. We scheduled the job to begin two weeks later. The crew arrived on time and worked hard until the job was done. As with most contractor jobs, there were a few hiccups along the way (plan ahead) ... the tile did not arrive when it was supposed to (someone should have called several days a head of time yo make certain it had come in); when the tile arrived the next day it was the wrong color (distributor loaded the wrong pallet ... The subcontractor should have checked this before leaving the distributor). After installation we noticed a few tiles that were not level and a couple of detail items that needed to be addressed. Otis , good to his word addressed this and his men came and pulled up/replaced those tiles and fixed our other issues we identified. We know that if we would find something else in two weeks that he would come out to house and set it straight. They came back three more times to finish and fix the issues ... It got to the point I just wanted them out of my house. Post two weeks -probably should have waited two weeks before writing my review. They have come back twice already to fix uneven and chipped tiles, and grout issues. They kept taking large stones from our rock wall and laying them on the tile they just replaced without putting anything between the tile and the rock which caused chipping ... Causing them to come out and again repair their work. We like Otis but he does not have employees he subcontracts his tile layers. The subcontractor for our job was running two jobs and half the time he was on the other job. As mentioned previously the tile was a day late so they were laying the hallway and great room fast to get the job done before the weekend. They told us that we could not walk on it till the next day yet they were walking on it. When I mentioned it to the subcontractor he said that they walked on it carefully ... Not from what I saw. When I mentioned that some of the tiles were uneven he explained it was because of our uneven floor. When they pulled the carpet they said that our floors were good. When my husband ask if we need to level the floors before they laid the tell we were told that we didn't need to because they would just thicken the mix under the tile to compensate where need. Bottom line some of the tiles are not even where they meet one another ... The tiles are uneven in areas and can be felt when walking with or without shoes. Again we appreciate Otis but quality was lacking on this job. Subcontractor even thought it was acceptable to put three separate pieces of baseboard in a 5-1/2 foot section ... Maybe in his house but not mine Otis had them replace it. Also be aware the marazzi 36 inch tile has bowing issues ...but they laid these rather than to get a straighter tile. They should have returned these to the distributor in Austin and get more but everyone seemed in a hurry to get the job done.
Description of Work: Installed porcelain tile in Great room and hallway.

I had carpet installed in 4 bedrooms, tile in 1 bathroom and LVT throughout the remainder of the house. Otis Carter and his team could not have been better throughout this entire project. First encounter was at his store and his 85 year old grandmother Helen was taking care of the shop while Otis had stepped out for a bit. This Grandma was fantastic, had it not been for her good graces, enthusiasm and energy, I would have kept on shopping around, but she was awesome; she showed me all around the shop, and assured me Otis would be back soon. Later I met Otis and his employee Kerrie. Otis has an extensive knowledge base about flooring and installation and Kerrie knows color, decor and coordinating styles; between the two of them, the service is a one stop shop. Kerrie helped select my paint colors for the walls I was having painted to coordinate with the flooring and coordinated all of the flooring throughout the house. Kerrie is a master of decor. Everything turned out beautiful. Otis took all the time in the world to explain everything I asked about and went over everything so I would know exactly what I would be selecting. There were no hidden costs, no surprises, just good honest service and quality products. The crew arrived on time everyday they were scheduled and worked hard until the job was done. They did a tear out of previous tile, carpet and linoleum, cleaned up and then did the install. The crew was always polite, on time, worked hard and attended to any and every request or concern I had without hesitation. Otis checked all of the work and managed the overall work site. I definitely recommend Carter floors, you will be surprised as to the variety of products they have and the price is fair.

They were excellent. He did an outstanding job. He is new in the area so he didn't have any references but I just met with him and felt personally really good connections with him right away and they took care of everything in a real strict manner. He was on top of everything, he had great subcontractors and it was just a very good experience.
Description of Work: I used Carter Floors and More; they put in 1,000 feet of wood flooring and about 200 square feet of tiles. That would include the take out of about 400 square feet of wood and a bunch of tiles and all that stuff too.
