They did a good job. It was easy to work with them and since the washing machine was under warrantee they did the work for free. I asked for some touch up painting and they said it would be $48 for a couple tiny scratches which I thought was expensive.
Description of Work: They replaced a water pump in our washing machine.

Our LG Refrigerator suddenly had a burning smell one Sunday morning. Our extended warranty was still in effect and the warranty company dictated who would do the repairs so we ended up using Austec. The office staff was polite and the repairman was on time and also polite. Unfortunately he misdiagnosed the problem on his first visit, then didn't order the correct parts for the repair. When parts were ordered they were all sent ground UPS and took forever. We ended up being without our refrigerator for a full month. It was a nightmare.
Description of Work: The light assembly for our LG refrigerator overheated and started to melt and warp. The repairman ended up replacing the entire light assembly, two door switches and the water/ice dispenser assembly along with a circuit board in the back.

Our Bosch dishwasher needed repair after only 4 yrs. Fortunately we had purchased the 4 yr extended warranty from Lowes, even though extended warranties are not usually recommended. I chose Austec over another nationwide repair company from Lowes authorized repair list. Based on local reviews, Austec was almost evenly split between 5 stars and 1 star. I figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting excellent service. The first visit was scheduled for 5 days later. The repair person arrived promptly on time. After listening to the problem (the timer would count down to 1 minute and hang with the dishwasher continuing to run), he tried calling the Bosch Tech Line but was put on extended hold. I told him a web search I had done indicated this was a known problem with this dishwasher and the timer-control module needed to be replaced. He took down the model number and left saying he would continue to try to reach the Tech line. I called the following week and was told that the broken part (the timer module) had been ordered and it would be delivered to our home and to call when it arrived. It arrived the following week and the repair person came out promptly at the scheduled time 2 days later and replaced the module. Dishwasher fixed! Overall I am satisfied with the service. The repair person always arrived promptly and was courteous. It did take nearly a week from the first visit to the date the part was ordered. That is why I rated the responsiveness a B.
Description of Work: Bosch dishwasher was repaired bu Austec Applaince under extended warranty at no charge for parts or labor.

I had just given birth to twins when the week after we got home from the hospital my Fisher-Paykel washing machine broke. It gave an error code and the water wouldn't stop filling the tub. I called Lowes because I had bought the extended Service Contract. They were going to send out another company who's AngiesList rating was even worse. I accept Austec because it was the better rated one Lowes offered. It still took a week just to get the initial visit. The service technician was Jacob and he was nice and seemed competent in diagnosing the problem. He said they would have to order the parts and it would take up to 10 business days. I waited 11 days, and called them after not hearing anything. They said the parts weren't in yet and hopefully in another week they would be. I waited another week and called again. Again they brushed me off with an excuse about waiting on parts. I called one other time and they said they would call me back but never did. Finally, after four weeks of hauling all the dirty baby stuff to the laundrymat, my husband called and demanded some answers. They tried to give him the same brush off about parts. He had to threaten to call Lowes and express his displeasure in their service. They admitted that they had waited seven days after the initial visit to even order the parts. After telling my husband the parts still weren't here, they called him back 40 mins. later and said they had the parts and could schedule to come fix the machine the next day. He took a day off work and made sure the installation was correct and complete. The same technician came out and fixed the machine just fine. He was good- it was just the service of the office staff that was lacking. The washing machine has worked fine ever since.
Description of Work: Fixed my Fisher-Paykel washing machine. Contracted by Lowes to perform Service Contract work.

Terrible. This has been ongoing for 4 months. Ordering parts is just a nightmare. Lots of long periods with no contact. Then we follow up with them and then we hear back from them way later. We finally had to go back to our original sales company to get help. They referred us to another company and that seems to be going much better. Not sure if all of this is the fault of Austec (but their repairman bookers are just lame--they giggle on the phone and don't seem to know what's going on. Some of this seems to be just the manufacturer's quagmire. In case you didn't know, this company owns nearly all large appliance manufacturers today, with the exception of a few. And believe me, the repairman is not working on people's cable as the commercial would suggest. They are repairing poorly made, very expensive appliances.

I called to set up an appointment a week in advance (they were backed up). They were supposed to come in the morning. I called three times during the day, and they kept telling me that they'd call the service person and find out when he might come. I finally cancelled this mid-afternoon because no one would give me any information. I went to someone else (from Angie's list), and it was fixed the next day.
Description of Work: I wanted my refrigerator fixed.
