They were able to get the part and come out to fix it immediately both times. I had another company come out to figure out what was wrong and they sent me a quote. I called Airtek to compare the repair price and they the ONLY company willing to quote me a price through the phone based on what the other repair guy recommend. When they got here, they were efficient and professional. Dana took the time to take it apart and explain what was going on with my furnace. We thought we had to replace to motor, but it turns out the blow wheel was the only issue and that saved me a couple hundred bucks (only because it would only take a OEM motor). And, when I asked about replacing our AC system, he told me that I had at least a couple more years on it and shouldn't have to replace it just yet because it is in good working order. I like his approach that if something is still in good working condition, don't replace it. Other companies I had come out gladly sent a salesman to give me a quote.

My AC started blowing warm air around noon so I called Airtek to come out and look at the unit. Airtek Mechanical, off Fitzhugh Road, (512) 844-7279 I found them online as I was looking for someone close to Dripping Springs. Its started getting hot so I was worried that someone from Austin might not be able to schedule an appointment right away. Dana the owner answered and told me he could probably get a truck out that day (since I was so close) and that he would call me right back, he asked me to shut off the system to prevent any potential damage. . About 45 minutes later he called me back, got my address and said a truck was en route, be there in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later Evan and Walker showed up, Evan seemed in charge. They asked me me about the system and what I had noticed, had me turn it on and they got right to work. He quickly checked all the components and in short order figured that the main switch/relay was bad, replaced it and it fired right up. He showed me the defective unit. The relay cycled but the contacts were black and burned out. They told me insects can sometimes short out the contacts so they sprayed some insecticide in the box. I asked them to give it a normal check out to make sure everything else was OK. They checked the refrigerant pressure, supply line temp and compressor currents. All OK. In the attic they blew out the drip line and checked the temperature variance input/output and it also measured within normal limits. When I asked what I could be doing they told me to be sure and replace the air filers regularly to keep the coils in the attic clean. Extremely competent, professional and polite.

Airtek recommended $1000 in repairs but ultimately the work had no effect on the units.... they still did not blow very cold air. I had another company come out and they discovered that the units were both under-charged. $300 later and both units now blow ice cold air, no thanks to Airtek. They also completely ignored my emails when contacting them for paperwork to qualify for Austin Energy rebates. As a result I never did get the rebates, even though I was eligible.
