Mr. Beck assessed my project on Saturday July 7th, 2018 at around 10 am. The project was planned out and we agreed to renovate the bathrooms of 2 rooms (numbered 39 and 34) on Saturday July 14th, 2018. It was estimated to take 3-4 days per bathroom with the first (#39) to be worked on July 21,22,23, and 28, 2018 and the second (#34) to be worked on July 28, 20, 30 and August 1st, 2018. The project consisted of 2 small (4x8 foot) bathrooms to be completely renovated. I informed him that I am looking for someone who can get the job done by August 1, 2018 and stay within a budget of $8,000 for both bathrooms combined. He told me that this would be no problem at all and estimated that each bathroom would take 3-4 days max and he could easily stay within my budget. I agreed to hire him, payed his deposit and construction went underway. The project underwent multiple delays including him busting pipes (flooding the room and ruining the wood floors outside of the bathroom), him taking a vacation, his workers not showing up, one worker (that has since been fired) using very vulgar language directed against women, the shower sewage drain being clogged by cast iron because he broke and had to replace our cast iron plumbing (this cost us $230 in plumber fees as well as extra days of him fixing the issue; he still charged us for this), two of his workers displaying a conflict of interest on the job (they have a child together and I walked in multiple times with them sitting around next to each other not working), and workers taking excessively long (45 min) smoke breaks. After August 1st, 2018 I began inquiring about new expected dates for completion and was constantly being told that the rooms were taking longer than expected, but he would have them done by the time my tenants needed to move in. Prior to and especially on August 13, 2018, I informed Mr. Beck that I needed the first room completed and ready for move in by August 15, 2018 and the second room completed and ready for move in by August 17, 2018 as my tenants must be moved in prior to August 18, 2018 for the start of their medical school orientation. After this date, they would be busy with orientation for the entirety of the following week and begin classes thereafter. He acknowledged that he understood. Later that night (8/13/2018), he sent me a text saying that he was leaving for the night and would be back in the morning “bright and early.” On the morning of 8/14/2018, Mr. Beck arrived shortly after 9:00 AM and was present for around 30 minutes before leaving with his truck bed filled with his tools. I knew that he had another project and assumed that he would be back later on. After a few hours, I inquired about his return to which I received no reply. I called him, to which i received no reply. I sent him a text reiterating my deadlines in order to meet my tenants move in, to which he read and I received no reply. Later in the afternoon I called again and my call went straight to voicemail. The next morning (8/15/2018), I called again and my call went to voicemail. At this point, it was safe to presume that he had quit this job and blocked my number. We are left with two uncompleted bathrooms (one of which is completely demolished), as well as a mess to clean up, and two tenants to find housing for. This job has severely impacted me as well, as there were many times my medical studies were needlessly disrupted by him, having to watch over his workers that were taking excessively long breaks when Mr. Beck was not around, worrying about meeting my deadlines, and ultimately hindering my medical education through a failing midterm exam. This project has lasted most of the way through the second part of my class and he quit a week before my final causing me severe stress and anguish in having to find housing for my tenants and find someone to complete this job for me. The complete job is roughly halfway done and has cost Phi Chi Zeta medical fraternity $11,871.45. We have photo proof of all statements above.

Everything went smoothly & efficiently. He knew exactly what he was doing & got it done quickly. We were pleased with his fair, reasonable rate.
