I have used them again since then. From a price and quality standpoint and knowing what they're doing and recommending things for you, they do an excellent job. My issue with them is their scheduling, being tardy, and they don't have supplies when they get here. That's why I gave them a C on punctuality. The three bathrooms took right at two weeks to be completed.

Really enjoyed working with Marlon and Bert for our home remodel. They worked together well and helped us find materials that would look great with the colors & look we were aiming for. We had trouble finding someone who was both artistic and a technician... a lot of guys out there who can swing a hammer but won't help when it comes to picking out the right material amongst the thousands available. Marlon & Bert were patient and put my overwhelmed wife at ease during the process. They were able to complete the work within the appropriate timeframe while maintaining communication throughout the remodel. We have received several compliments on our wood floors... people are shocked to find out we purchased them on clearance! Marlon was always looking out for us throughout the project, from finding remnant pieces (for our 2nd bathroom and fireplace) to creating solutions when there were things we didn't like. I think the painters did an OK job... we had to have some things redone a number of times and there's still some areas where it just looks sloppy, whether not enough prep work was done or they were just going too fast (underside of granite was painted, brush marks of wrong paint at transition points). I wish the painting was up to par with the other work which was a superb, A-rating quality. We're very thankful for the folks at Woods & Floors Outlet. Marlon, thank you for your patience with us and being in great communication despite our 'long-distance relationship' during the remodel process.

I wasn't very impressed from the moment I stopped in the store to ask questions and look at flooring samples. The woman that worked there acted like I was more of a nuisance than a customer. She seemed bothered by my questions and didn't listen to what I was asking for, but rather kept showing me samples that were not what I was looking for. I went ahead and set up a free estimate thinking that I could get measurements and perhaps talk to someone else that would actually listen to what I was wanting. I was given a date and time for the estimate. On the day of the estimate, the gentleman that came was over 2 hours late and seems very rushed when he came to do the estimate. He did not take any initiative to answer my questions or hear my needs. When he left, he told me he would e-mail me the estimate. A week later when I still had not received the estimate, I contacted them about the estimate and only then did I later get the quote. While the quote was a bit lower than the competitors, it was missing some key elements that I knew I would later be charged for. Ultimately, my decision to not use Wood & Floors Outlet was made based upon how they had made me not feel like a valued customer. I had received a recommendation from someone within my neighborhood regarding them, but unfortunately I was not as impressed. I have no doubt that they have done quality work in the past, I wanted to write this review to remind them of the importance of customer service. First impressions, as well as second impressions, do matter. Please remember the customer knows what they want and wants to feel respected and valued. Thanks to how you made me feel, you lost a $20,000 customer. God bless. I hope you take the extra steps in the future to value your potential customers.

I was on a time crunch. I called a different top carpet installer first but they didn't have time for me. From the conversation, it sounded like my job was too small and therefore unimportant to them. However, when I called Wood & Floors Outlet they worked with my scheduled and fit in my install! I called on a Monday and it was installed on Wednesday. Service was wonderful, price was right, and I felt very taken care of. They did not know that I was an Angie's List member and they also did not know that I have a new house with TONS of carpet that needs replacing. I'll definitely be giving them a call again when it's time to do that. It was very nice to be treated well regardless of the size of the job.

Service was excellent and installers did a great job. They moved the furniture, removed the carpet, and installed the floor. When complete they returned all the furniture and cleaned the house. This is the second time we have used this company the first was for tile in a master bath remodel in June of 2012. In both cases they did an excellent job we couldn't be more happy. Highly compatible in pricing and would highly recommend this company for the future.

Excellent! I asked that they divide the installation into two dates because I had a different contractor for each bathroom with the work being done about six weeks apart. They agreed and did not charge me extra. I paid in full up front and they worked with me to get an installer here at short notice. The morning of the second installation they called an said their installer would not be here that day. I can't remember why. I told them that other contractors were scheduled based on the completion of the flooring. They were able to find another installer within a couple of hours and got the job done the same day. I definitely recommend them. Good value and good service.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience with this project. After doing much research on Angie's List and getting quotes from several contractors, we decided on Wood & Floors Outlet based on the great reviews and also a personal recommendation from our neighbor. We were NOT disappointed. Marlon came to look at the space and prepare our estimate. He was very professional, knowledgeable and provided the estimate in a timely manner. Once we decided to go with this company, we connected with Bert to help us determine which wood we wanted to go with and organize the schedule. Bert is very responsive and goes above and beyond to make sure the process is a smooth one. A start date was scheduled and the crew (Alfredo and Alberto) showed up ON TIME and ready to work. We cannot say enough good things about those two. They are very professional, personable and WORK hard. You can tell they take pride in their work. They were very willing to offer suggestions and solutions. In fact Alfredo suggested a different base molding than we were planning and it turned out fantastic. I'm so glad we listened to him. The job was done in the time frame we were quoted, the work was great and they treated my home with respect and cleaned up after themselves. Wood & Floors even sent a cleaning crew to clean my house after the project was finished. (Not sure if you've ever experienced a tile removal, but it is MESSY). I could go on, but you get the idea. We had a very positive experience and will not hesitate to use them again for anything. And best of all....our floors look fantastic. We are getting compliments left and right.

I took a couple follow-ups to get the bid. I started contacting them on Saturday and again on Monday. I got the bid late on Tuesday via e-mail but it was too high. It appeared like they included some downstairs rooms that I was planning to tile with someone else and asked them to take them off. That may have been an honest mistake on their part although it wasn't consistent with the instructions I left them. They revised the bid on Wednesday. They were higher than Home Depot by a couple hundred dollars but consistent with the square foot price Bert had given me so I decided to go with them. I had another bid from a similar independent store that was about $175 higher. I went in to schedule the work and give them 50% down. Bert tried to get me to pay first but I thought it best to lock in an appointment date first and she agreed to do that. They could do it quickly, probably earlier than I was ready so we went ahead and scheduled it for the following Monday. I also asked for a copy of the carpet warranty and was told they would give me that with the final bill. In hindsight, I should have pushed for it then. The carpet crew came out as scheduled and did a pretty good job as far as I can tell. They did cause some rub spots on the paint that had only been there for a week or so but my paint team was still working in the other rooms and agreed to touch it up so I didn't make an issue of it. A couple days later Sasha called me wanting me to pay the remaining portion of the bill. I asked her for a copy of the warranty. She told me she didn't have it and would have to get it from the manufacturer. I told her Bert had told me they would give it to me with the final bill. She said she didn't have it and would e-mail it to me. I left without paying the bill. No e-mail came and after a couple days Sasha called and wanted me to come in and get the warranty. I asked her to e-mail it to me. She said she couldn't because it was a brochure. I told her I lived 30 miles away so it wasn't convenient for me to come back down. She said she would mail it to me. She complained that the crew hadn't been paid because I hadn't paid the second half of the bill. I explained I had asked for the warranty when I first agreed to the installation and was told they would have it for me when the job was done. I told her if they had provided it to me when I first asked for it or provided it when they asked me to come in and pay the bill as Bert told me they would, then it wouldn't be an issue. She said it wasn't their process to provide it prior to installation. I wonder if that's because buyer's might not buy the carpet if they saw all the disclaimers and loopholes. I told her it wasn't my fault the installers hadn't been paid. That was a result of them not providing it on two occasions when asked. A couple days later she called and left a message on Saturday saying the warranty had been sent to the rental property and wanted my mailing address. I sent an e-mail back to Bert reminding her she had my e-mail address and also asked them to sign a lien waiver since Sasha told me the installers hadn't been paid. I then got a call on Monday from the owner wanting me to come back to the store to get the warranty, lien waiver and pay the bill. I agreed to come in on Tuesday since I had a doctor appointment nearby. he didn't seem to care about the process issues on their end but pretty much insisted I come in and wanted me to call him directly if I couldn't make it. I had switched from Home Depot to Wood & Floors Outlet hoping for less hassle and good professionalism based on their Angie's List feedback. I got a lot more hassle and dropped balls than I was anticipating. I suspect they were still easier to work with than Home Depot but not nearly as good as I thought they would be since I paid them a couple hundred more than Home Depot for the same job. My impression is they don't talk to each other a lot and don't follow-up on some of the things they say they will do. The explanation I got for the bid being delayed three days is it got lost in a stack of papers with another bid. I probably would have been OK with that if they hadn't dropped the ball on the warranty and then tried to place a guilt trip on me for them holding up payment to the installers when they didn't provide the warranty after multiple requests for it. I ended up with several extra phone calls, e-mail exchanges and an extra trip in do to what I perceive is a lack of professionalism and less than good communication.

Awesome work! Alfredo & Alberto are very thorough and skilled at their craft. And, the price for material and labor was significantly cheaper than other job quotes for the same materials.

They replaced some carpeting and repaired the remainder. It should be noted that a communication error took place which caused the replaced carpeting to be the wrong color and Wood and Carpet replaced the carpeting and repaired the the remainder at no cost to me.

It took several calls to get a response from Wood and Floors Outlet . Marlon Allen, the owner, came out, looked at the damage , and talked to us about what we wanted done. Very nice man. Several days went by and we got an estimate via email. Good price, so we called back, and called back and called back. Finally got a reply and agreed on the work. We were given a date for the work to be done and the wood was delivered soon thereafter in order to acclimate. Workers came one month before scheduled work day. Had to reschedule and, one month later, workers were there on correct day. Workers did great work and we are very happy with the section of the floor that had to be replaced. Overall, we got a good job, but the delays and lack of communication were very frustrating.

There are no adequate words to describe our experience with Marlon, Alfredo, Alberto and Bert. Marlon is a true professional. He is prompt, smart, courteous and knows his stuff. He came to our home to show us different finishes for our living room. He suggested flooring that I hadn't even thought of. I am so glad I listened because our floor is absolutely beautiful. Alfredo and Alberto were terrific as well. They were prompt and professional and treated our home as if it was their home as well. They were a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them highly to anyone who is thinking of any type of flooring; carpet, tile, hardwood. Bert is the glue that holds everything together. She's just fantastic! Call Marlon first before you call anyone else! I promise you won't be sorry!

Marlon was extremely responsive and even came to our home in Allen one night to show us samples. The installation crews were prompt, professional, and everything met or exceeded our expectations. Since we were doing the work in a house we are planning to sell, cost was a factor and Marlon's price was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend him and use him in the future.

I think you can tell a lot about a business by how they handle a problem. I picked a carpet with a linear pattern for my stairs. Turns out several of the stairs were not originally manufactured square - 1/2" off here, a 1/2" off there. The result was that on about 25% of the steps, the pattern looked crooked. The issue was the stairs with the linear carpet not the skill of the installers or the quality of the carpet. I called the owner, Marlon, who helped me pick the carpet, and told him how disappointed I was in how it turned out. He told me to give him a few days and he would see what he could do. He called back confirming he had worked with the carpet manufacturer and together they wanted me to be 100% satisfied. I should go through their line and find a new carpet that does not have a linear pattern and Wood and Floors Outlet would replace it for no charge. As I write this, the crew is back, taking out the old carpet, and replacing it with the new pattern. They also are replacing the carpet in other rooms so all the carpets match. That's Marlon - he wanted me to be satisfied, even if there was nothing wrong with the carpet or the installation, he worked with the carpet manufacturer to see that my satisfaction happened when he could have just said, "It's not my fault your steps are crooked." I feel a little bad about wasting this carpet but Marlon assured me that if the manufacturer doesn't want it back the crew would be able to take it back to the Wood and Floors Outlet storeroom and donate it to a habitat for humanity house. I'm not at all surprised at this as I know from my own volunteer work with another non-profit that he is generous with his time and resources. This is my 4th job with Wood and Floors Outlet. They matched hardwoods in my last house - didn't give up until I was satisfied with the color match. They put in a low-cost great-looking carpet in that house as we prepped it for sale and they put in engineered hardwoods in our new home. In each case Marlon came to my home, asked a lot of questions about what I like and don't like and how I will use the rooms and helped me pick products. His expertise is very helpful in getting the lowest cost product that will meet your needs.

We staggered the remodeling so Marlon had to come to our house more than once for the estimates. Bert is wonderful and helped us pick out the tiles and wood she knew we would like. We asked that a flexible T-mold be used in the foyer and Alfredo redid the stain and polyurethane finish numerous times until it worked for him and us. Alfredo and Alberto are a wonderful team and did a beautiful job installing the tile in the foyer and on the fireplace. The smaller-sized tile ordered for the fireplace was not as colorful as the larger-sized tile used in the foyer. We were not happy with the almost finished fireplace and Alfredo redid the fireplace using the larger and more colorful tile. It turned out beautifully and we are very pleased with the result. Jamie and Allen worked on the kitchen and master bath and we like the brick-like design Jamie suggested. Each time we made a comment about not liking something, Bert worked with all involved to make sure it was redone and to our liking. We are very pleased with our remodel and pleased that we chose Denton Wood & Floors Outlet.

Overall a fantastic job. We are very pleased with this business. BTW, Marlon is the owner and he is a brick and mortar in Denton, not operating from the trunk of his car.

How they did?: 1. When you go to their store, make sure that you have plenty time. They are a small and only have 1 person taking care of business. So you may have to wait. 2. Sales person was very good, she listened on what we were looking for and got us the correct product to our needs and budget.3. Sales person house visit to do measurements was quick and painless. They were right on time for our scheduled appointment. and they were out within 30 minutes.4. Tile Installers: Removing the old wood floor was very hard. It took them almost the entire first day. If you can pay someone to do this work. Don't even think about saving a few $$ and trying to do this yourself, unless you are up to lots of hard work, pain and suffering. Once wood floor was removed the crew was very good. Before they started they laid out a few tiles and showed me the different patters they could do. Tile installation done in couple days, crew was very good with their work and cleaning up afterwards. 5. Carpet Installers - Crew came in around 10 am they started working, but they were missing some pads, they left to pick the items. To make up on the delay, they had a 3rd person to come in and help them out. It took them all afternoon and good part of the evening. They were done around 9:00PM. They picked all leftover pieces and cleaned as much as they could, but they had no working vacuum cleaner, so they were unable to sweep the carpet for us.6. Store called back couple days later checking if we were satisfied with the workmanship and the materials. So far we are.... These guys were recommended to us by our Real State Agent after comparing prices and sales tactics at other stores, we made a good decision. I am will be replacing some wood floors next and I am calling these guys first.

Sale persons/ front desk are very knowledgeable and helpful.

They did a great job and the price was very reasonable. Since they have a small showroom, I initially could not find a carpet I liked. However Bert allowed me to find a carpet style I liked at another store, determined that they could get the carpet and installed it at a much better price than the bigger store had quoted. Great service! Subsequently, I had them install slate tile for a kitchen backsplash in the fall of 2010. Again, great price and quality work!

We were interested in both quality and price. Wood Floors and Outlet came recommended to us from a couple of separate friends who had good experiences - but we still researched and got quotes from four others (including two from Angie's List) - but we felt most comfortable with this choice - and the price was right. We were not disappointed - the service was great, they showed up when they said they would, they were courteous and professional, cleaned up after, did quality work, etc. Marlon was a pleasure to work with - came out in advance to show and explain options - and followed up throughout. All around great experience - would highly recommend!
