I requested a bid from Matt at Stenson Landscape for the removal of a large river rock bed and the removal of a tiled floor courtyard. Matt made an appointment with me to view the space and give me some design ideas and prices to landscape my project. Matt is punctual, professional and very helpful giving me the ideas for plant material selections that would work best in my limited space and restrictive sunlight. I requested a 48 hour completion of the project from the day we agreed on a price and plant materials. Matt was awesome agreeing to hit my deadlines and the project was started within 48 hours of our meeting. The Masonry installer was outstanding replacing my old existing tile floor with beautiful flagstone. They also completed all of the tree and plant installation the same day. My entire project was completed by their team working a very long day to complete the project within the timeline I requested. The finished job is really impressive, and I am extremely pleased with the workmanship in my new courtyard! I will definitely use Stenson Landscape again in the future.

Matt Stenson visited our home three times to give us estimates, sign the contract and do the work. Each time he was punctual, called ahead to tell us when he estimated his arrival, and was ready to do business on arrival. On the promised day Matt and his crew arrived on time, confirmed the work to be done and proceeded to build us a WONDERFUL Oklahoma Flagstone path along the entire side of our home. The decomposed granite they used was a wonderful base and complement to the project. The crew was supervised by Mike who was helpful, pleasant, courteous and responsive. He worked well with my wife to provide some requested changes and was flexible. They completed the project on budget, ahead of schedule and cleaned up the driveway and yard when they finished. The price was very competitive and the work was fantastic. Great crew, superb workmanship and outstanding results. We could not ask for better.

I've been using these guys for 10 years for lawn maintenance and have always had excellent service. I can not tell you how happy I am with the job they did on my trees and my yard. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT AWESOME JOB!!!

The finished product was more than I could ever dream. They did a superior job. I am so happy with it and have gotten a lot of compliments. Mike had an excellent vision and delivered above my expectations. The team was excellent, very knowledgeable and very professional. They put my mind at ease with the design and I am so glad I listened to their advice. They were even able to put in some pop-up drains so the beds did not flood from the gutters. The plant recommendations are perfect and all the plants are taking to their new home. I highly recommend the Stenson team.

Sent them a request to discuss our backyard project. Never heard from them. I won't give them worse than a C, but honestly its pretty weak when they don't even respond.

Had great vision and unlike other providers I had quote, they listened to what I did and didn't want in plants instead of just reaching into the several they normally use. Started work almost immediately because I had a time crunch and finished within days. Wonderful price per plant and labor compared to my other quotes. Was willing to use existing stone that I had for border, very willing to think outside of the box.

I'm very happy with the decision to use Stenson. They were were here for four days and did a great job. Not only did they complete the job they were paid to do, they also repaired or improved existing landscape and irrigation where they saw an opportunity to do so -- no charge. I'd like Stenson to 'own' my landscaping needs going forward. I believe they will continue to do a great job.

I got an estimate in 2011 - it was too expensive for my budget. I called them again in 2012 for a general clean up estimate and they never called me back. I called them and left messages at least 3 times. No response - I figured they had gone out of business.

Fixed drainage issues that were impacting my foundations, repaired a french drain, built new flower beds and completely ripped out everything in preexisting flower beds and put in new plants, mulch, etc. Beautiful work, prompt and very professional!

We were pleased in talking to this company since they explained in detail items to be done, materials required, and length of time to begin and end project.

I'm rating this company a 'D' due to the fact they never called me back with an estimate. When I called the company, the gentleman I spoke with was professional, discussed the work needing to be completed, and said he would drive by my house that same day, then call me back with an estimate. However, seven days later, he still has not called me back with an estimate or an update. The other tree service companies I called provided quotes within 1-2 days. I went with another tree service company.

He was very professional and provided me with a drawing that showed how he was going to accomplish the task.

We walked through our backyard with Matt and described what kind of feel we were looking for. We're not plant people so we had no clue what would look good just the feel we wanted once it was completed. Told us he understood exactly what we wanted. We felt confident that he/his company could provide that so we signed his contract right then. During the conversation he suggested for the lawn that we put in Zoysia because it would do better in less sunlight than Bermuda or St Augustine. Our side yard was in great need of grass and water drainage. He suggested a french drain from the back of our fence all the way to the front curb to get rid of the drainage. Since he was the expert we went with his suggestions. They showed up to perform the work on the day scheduled removed the tree and started to till up the backyard and dirt around the pool in prep for the Zoysia grass and plants. When my husband got home that afternoon he spoke to Matt about the possibility of putting the same grass in the front yard along with redoing some of the front landscaping to open up the front of our house more. We agreed on a price and so they continued with their work. On Friday 4/26/13 they said they were completed. We looked at the backyard and said, this is it for plants. This is not the feel we wanted. My husband was furious. They did show up Saturday with 2 large bushes to put behind our waterfall.They laid all new sod but never rolled it so our yard now looks lumpy. 3 weeks later after numerous phone calls they finally came out and rolled the lawn but it didn't make any difference. Should I have to get upset before they do something to fix the situation. I now have the worse yard in the neighborhood. Matt even mentioned while he was here for our estimate that we would probably get yard of the month when he was done. I've had to spend more money to try to get the lawn weed free and it's still covered in weeds and looks horrible. Several of my neighbors have mentioned how bad our lawn looks after paying so much money. I've tried contacting them on several occasions because I have had 6 of their plants die! The side yard that needed drainage and grass looks worse today 3 months later than it did before they started. Even after all of this I did refer this company to a neighbor. She called them and they came out but she has NEVER gotten a call or an estimate back from the company. I feel they come in get it done quick and run with the money. I would not recommend doing business with this company unless you have money to burn. We didn't and now I'm stuck trying to fix the mess in our lawn.

I understand businesses and people get busy. Just would have appreciated a call saying he isn't able to do an estimate or isn't interested. A bit disappointing as he seems to have great reviews.

It went extremely well. My backyard was transformed in two days from a grass barren unsightly place to a very beautiful backyard oasis. The Stenson crew of 8 or 9 men arrived promptly on the designated day and worked steadily until quitting time. I was very impressed with the work ethic. I love my backyard. This was money well spent. I gave a B on responsiveness only because of the bit of confusion around the start date for this project.

They show up as scheduled. They do a good job and are very personable. I have hired them on a regular basis.

They are fantastic! I let Matt have total creative control, and I'm glad I did because he did a phenomenal job. I told him I wanted a lot of color with very little maintenance, and that's exactly what we got. They were very professional from beginning to end with very fair prices too. I will be using them in the fall to take out my two trees as well as any additional work we may need. Great company!

I LOVE my new landscaping! Matt and Mike came to my home and gave me a written estimate the same day. Even though the continual rain in April caused several delays for the project starting, Matt always called me and let me know that due to the rain our start date would be pushed back. I appreciated the honest communication and he never left me hanging. Once the project started, everything went smoothly with Mike being on site for the duration of the project. He was always receptive to all my questions and went out of his way to find a specific plant that I liked. Thanks Mike for finding me the Giant Leopard Plant!!! I plan on using them again in the fall, and to install a new fence next year.

received bid after finding this company on Angie's list. met twice to discuss options and negotiate final project and price. they were very professional, did an amazing job, and we are planning on using them again for backyard updates

Although I did not select them I found this company to be very responsive, punctual and professional. I would not hesitate to call them again for a future job.

The workers are professional and do a complete job quickly. They clean the areas worked, and respond to any suggestions I make. Their arrival is sometimes subject to bad weather but that is expected. We have used them for years and are very satisfied with their performance.

It was great from the star to finish. No problems!

I LOVE MY NEW BACKYARD! IT IS BEAUTIFUL! I initially contacted Matt at Stenson Landscaping to solve a drainage issue and landscape the remainder of my small backyard. Last spring I had a concrete patio added to the back of the house, but unfortunately the contractor (Gary Gootman/Complete Outdoor Concepts) refused to take my concerns over the size of the patio into account. The final result was that the oversized patio interfered with the natural (but temporary) flow of water through the sloped yard during rain showers, causing soil erosion under the base of the concrete. I consulted Matt about solving my problem by creating a path for the water to flow while also protecting the patio. I had seen the "dry riverbed" look and thought it could work in this situation. Since low maintenance was also a goal preserving the grass was not a concern. Matt agreed and said he could create the stone bed using river rock and larger stones for accent. He would finish the rest of the yard to include a flagstone path from the gate to the patio and adding landscaped beds, removing all of the remaining lawn. I wasn't quite sure at that point that I could envision the finished project, but Matt was enthusiastic that he had a plan in mind and could remake my ratty backyard into something fantastic. He was also able to work up an estimate for me before he left. I felt the price was very fair and consistent with several others I had gotten, and the opportunity to use an Angie's List coupon was definitely a bonus. The entire job was completed in less than two days. I wasn't able to check on the project until after the work was done, but I have to say the final "reveal" far exceeded my expectations. The side yard was leveled and made even with the patio, which had previously required a step up. Large rock was used to edge the now-raised landscaped beds and create a natural drop to the "riverbed" below. Several trees were planted across the back of the yard, with roses and other plants added for color. Perennials were planted on either side of the flagstone path. I could not be happier with my new yard. I am still amazed at how fast Matt and his crew were able to complete the total transformation. He was very professional and pleasant to work with, and will be my first choice when I am ready to update the landscaping on my front yard later this spring. I highly recommend Stenson Landscaping.
