From the very first contact with salesperson Siegfried it has been a total pleasure working with this company. They responded within an hour or two of me contacting them on Angie's and were at my house for a free estimate that same evening. They estimates out several aspects of the project and we were under way not long after. Two different work crews were involved in the project and I couldn't have been more happy with the work they did and their professionalism. I was totally comfortable leaving them the keys to my house and letting them get the demolition and installation completed. They were super friendly and very good at what they do - I don't really have any complaints about the work performed. Siegfried was amazing as well, and adapted to the changes in my scope of work at the last minute without any issues. He always returned my calls or texts quite quickly and was very attentive to the project timeline and all my questions. He visited the project every other day once the demo and installation were under way. Very, very pleased. I have several other good size projects that I'll be doing in the upcoming months/year and I will most definitely be calling Siegfried at Simmons again without any hesitation. If you got tile, hardwood, carpet, counters, etc. - these are quality people that do an amazing job. If your job turns out like mine you surely won't be disappointed.

This purchase was for a rental property, so I was looking for something durable, attractive, and inexpensive. This is why I love Simmons. The quality on their in stock carpets cannot be beat for the price. Plus, the customer service is always amazing. I contacted Siegfried on Monday 8/3, and my carpet install was complete by Saturday. (Granted there is some luck in scheduling there too but they have always taken good care of me). Jose, the installer, did a great job and was very courteous. Simmons are my go-to people for all my flooring needs, and this is why!

In every way, the experience was delightful. Siegfried was committed to making sure that both the process and the finished product were the highest quality. I look forward to having them do my next flooring project!

At our request, the project was split into two phases. I was glad that the project leader came to the house to take measurements and came back several times to make sure we were happy with the project. The first floor was done first and started on schedule. Jose and his crew did an excellent job in moving the large items, removing existing carpet and linoleum with as little dust as possible. They worked the priorities we requested to minimize the time that my wife and son had to spend in a hotel. The installation was excellent and on schedule. The second phase was delayed about three weeks at our request to give us time to move things around in our free time. The second phase was started to the schedule we agreed on and completed early. We are very happy with the work. There were no surprises on the project price or schedule. The work was to an even higher quality than expected.

We have used this company on two separate occasions. Seigfried Emke is the person we dealt with and he is top notch. We trust him for all out tile work.

Simmons Floor Covering did an outstanding job! This was a big project that took 5 days to complete. Rafael and Daniel arrived on time each day and they were very professional, working 10-11 hours each day to get the project completed. They moved the large pieces of furniture from room to room. They cleaned up all the flooring material throughout the entire project and once they started laying the new floors, they wiped the floors down each night before leaving. The last day they installed the new molding, wiped down the new floors and moved the furniture back. We couldn't be happier with the results and love our new floors! Thank you Simmons! :)

The workers were on time and got to work immediately. They tore up old flooring (after moving the furniture) quickly. They also cleaned up as they were working and did an excellent job finishing the installation.

The representative with Simmons that we worked with was honest, patient, and never pushy. They were always on time and could always be reached by phone. Their offer was competitive and the entire process went smoothly. The installation went well and the final product looks amazing. I have 2 more rooms to complete at a later date and look forward to using Simmons again.

Simmons did an absolutly wonderful job. I use them for all my flooring needs they do a great job, wouldn't think of using anyone else. I know that if you need flooring they will come out and measure and help you pick just what you want they always seem to get it right just by my telling them what I am looking for. We did the carpet flooring on the living room, master bed and dining area and also replaced the carpet on the entire home. Bobby helped as in every aspect from the selection of the wood to installation. There was a delay in carpet installation but he managed to finish before our deadline. Overall very great experience and definitely we use them again.

We were exceptionally pleased with the work done by Simmons, in particular the three young men who conducted the actual work. They arrived on the day and at the exact time that they said they would, and stuck to the schedule they first provided. They maintained regular contact and were incredibly detail oriented when it came to inspecting and repairing small damaged spots in the flooring itself. The experience of working with them, including the resulting beautiful floors were worth every penny. Not only were they incredibly easy to work with, but the product they produce is beyond what we though was possible for our older hardwood floors. I would recommend Simmons (and our crew in particular!) to anyone looking to have any flooring work/repair done in their home!

There caring and professional service started the moment that I stopped in the store to discuss changing my carpeted floors to hardwood. Larry listened to what I wanted and offered suggestions to meet my needs. He took the time to answer my questions and listen to me regarding the look that I wanted to achieve. In fact, he suggested the flooring that I ended up purchasing. I couldn't be more happier with it. It was exactly what I was describing to him. I have to admit that this wasn't the first flooring store that I stopped in to to investigate, but it was the first one that listened and heard what I had to say and helped me achieve my dream floors. From there, Larry scheduled a consult to out to my house to measure and give me the free estimate. He was very prompt to the time he promised to be there and took time to answer my questions and did a very thorough job measuring. The great experience continued throughout the scheduling process and Larry worked with me to work around painters that I had scheduled. Raphael and his partner (the installers) were outstanding. Very thorough, quality work with respect and care to my furniture and the fact that we were living in the house amidst the remodel work. They were professional and took great pride in their work. They went above and beyond to make sure that every piece of flooring was installed correctly and looked phenomenal. I have to commend them for their high quality work and work ethic. They made sure every piece of furniture was placed back in the right position and did an amazing job with clean up. This whole experience has far succeeded my expectations and I give Simmons a 5 star recommendation. They are a family based business that really cares about the customer. I recently bought a 1960s home in Denton with original hardwood floors in need of sanding and refinishing along with carpet removal in the bedrooms. This is the first home I have solely owned, and this is the first time I have ever had anything flooring-wise done in my life. This will come into play later on in the review. After getting three quotes, I went with Simmons flooring. The price was not the cheapest, but by far not the most expensive quote I received. They promptly came out to measure the areas needing refinishing. They were able to start the job rather quickly, too. The job was contracted out with the contractor's workers ultimately performing the labor. It took three days to do the work. I was not living in the home at the time so I stopped by to see the progress. I spoke with one of the laborers about a couple of streaks on the floor. They weren't hugely noticeable, but they were darker than the surrounding area. The laborer stated that those things would be fixed by the time it was done. I was unable to walk on the floors for a time and only saw them from the kitchen at first. Initially, it looked pretty good. After working the weekend, I was able to see all of the flooring in good daylight three days later. I found three or four empty water bottles as well as a couple of old cloths sitting around in window sills and bathrooms. I found the streaks still there with one being the most prominent and perhaps the one that has bothered me the most. I also found that in two of the bedrooms some of the quarter-round molding on the baseboards appeared to be sanded into. There were uniform indentations as well as some of the paint removed. I brought this up with the salesman and the contractor. I stated, in fairness, that these were areas that had carpet in them prior so I did not see all of it beforehand, but in fairness to me as well, the salesman and contractor weren't really present during the work either. The only ones that really know are the day laborers. The salesman and the contractor came out to take a look at it while I was not there (I was at work). After not hearing back about any of it, I asked what was determined. The salesman stated that the streak was a deep scratch that was unable to be fixed, and they patched some spots on the quarter-round with wood putty which I still have no idea if that was done or not--it doesn't look as if it had been. That was that, and I haven't heard from them since. I have had other flooring reps come out to my house to measure the kitchen for vinyl. One rep actually pointed out the quarter-round and baseboards. She stated that it was standard for her company to remove and replace it with primed quarter-round. The price of this was not discussed though. I was not going to get all the baseboards painted, but after seeing stain splashed onto quarter-round and baseboards, I got the trim painted. It looks good except for where the sander presumably cut into the quarter round. If I were to give advice to someone getting their floors refinished I would say: 1) Ask your flooring company if quarter-round is standard and what happens to it in the process. This wasn't explained to me, and as I mentioned in the first paragraph, I have never done anything like this before. But if you want an unsloppy, finished look, it's something that needs to be addressed. 2) Look carefully at all of your floor and baseboard imperfections for an accurate before and after. So my ultimate conclusion is that sanding and refinishing floors is not beyond anyone with working hands and time. The reason why people are hired to do such things is to make it look good and finished without the worry. There are at least four or five places in town that do it, and who knows how many in surrounding areas. The workmanship should be the deciding factor in a review. This is why I gave them a C--average. I would also like to add that I believe this review is a pretty accurate betrayal of the experience. Even if this review has some sort of rebuttal, I would like to add that I work with at least 40 people in rotating shifts every working day. We talk a lot about our lives, and they know about the house I have bought and the work done on it. I tell them the same thing that is in this review: price was middle of the road, day laborer workmanship--average. **Despite the scratches filled with wood putty, the floors look great. I understand there are nail holes and never professed that it was a problem. Some painter's tape along the edge of baseboards would go a long way.

Our experience with Simmons was great. Siegfried worked us into his schedule right away and was prompt and thorough. The installation went well and the new carpet is beautiful. Phone calls were either answered right away or shortly after leaving a voice mail.

Well we went with Simmons because of the recommendation of Angie's list and we were not disappointed. From the first visit and estimate by Siegfried Ehmke, we received excellent customer service. Things were done as promised and there were no hidden surprises. Siegfried and his crews seemed to take pride in their work and went the extra step to ensure that we were happy. I would recommend Simmons without hesitation. In fact, I have recommended them to my sister and she intends to use Simmons for carpet and tile in her house. By the way we really love the finished product and have had many, compliments on the tile and carpet. It is quite beautiful and the price was comparable or less than Lowes.

It went beautifully. Siegfried was very helpful in supplying carpet samples and providing measurements and explaining differences in tile types and carpet features. He came by periodically to be sure work was progressing satisfactorily. His crew worked diligently and professionally. They moved all my furniture (and we have some really heavy stuff) and even showed me how I could get some nifty tools to make it easier for me to move the stuff if & when I need to. They cleaned up perfectly and hauled all the old carpet and pad away except for some scraps we asked to keep. We actually some carpet at lower prices, but with the discount Siegfried gave us and the better prices for all the furniture moving we really came out ahead. Considering how well everything went, I think we would have had a better deal than their competition, even without the discount. Simmons is definitely a class act.

They were great. Larry came out the week before Thanksgiving to give me an estimate. He took the time to explain my carpet choices and installation. I was in a hurry an wanted the carpet installed before Thanksgiving. Larry called around to make sure I could the carpet I wanted and that it would be installed before Thanksgiving the following week. I was told the installation would take two to three days. Ramon arrived bright & early on Tuesday (before Thanksgiving) and completed the job that SAME day. He did a superb job! I couldn't be happier. I will definitely use Simmons Floorcovering again!!!

The installation took 3 days and went seamlessly well as did the new wood. Former owners had installed the same flooring in Dining Room, Living Room and hallway. Simmons laid new flooring to seamlessly match the existing. The result is magnificent.

We were very pleased with the excellent service provided by Simmons. They took their time to help us select the granite color and tile for the backsplash, and even encouraged us to take tile and granite samples home so we could see how they would look in our own kitchen. We were less pleased with the installation process of the countertops. Simmons contracts this out to a company in Dallas called StoneTex, which appeared to be in disarray. I have never heard so many excuses in my life. It started with no-one being there when we arrived for our appointment on a Saturday morning to choose our slab ("stuck in traffic"), so we had to wait half an hour in a desolate industrial parking lot. Then the crew that did the initial install showed up late ("oil leak in van", which turned out to be true since our driveway was covered in a pool of oil after they left) and had not received proper instructions, so they cut and installed the bar top the wrong way, and were in a rush to leave to take care of their oil leak, instead of taking time to make sure everything looked good. Larry, our Simmons contact, forced StoneTex to clean up the oil mess in our driveway, which to their credit was done promptly. However, after this it took three weeks until they had new granite to replace the bar top, and another week until they had a crew available. Then to think that we had hired Simmons for our countertops, instead of Lowe's who had done our cabinets, because Simmons promised to install within 10 days after templating! While we were waiting, Simmons' owner replaced Larry with Siegfried, but unfortunately we were informed of this change before Larry was, so that I was in the uncomfortable position of having to tell Larry to check in with the office when he called me later that day. But the change did seem to work miracles, as after Siegfried took over everything started going more smoothly. The crew that came to replace our bar top was also late ("truck broke down"), but Siegfried informed StoneTex that this was not acceptable, and indeed they had a different crew here very close to the scheduled time. This crew did not have the granite with them, but they were able to take care of several small things (polish an ugly scratch, caulk gaps between countertop and oven cabinet, and take careful measurements for the bar top). This crew was outstanding, and Siegfried (with Simmons, recall) stayed here the whole time to supervise them personally. Another guy came later that morning with the stone, and this time they installed it correctly. On Siegfried's insistence, StoneTex had even made us a granite cutting board for the inconvenience (value $150) at no charge. After this we were ready to move on to the next stage. Siegfried had already lined up Martin, Simmons' tile guy, who came two days later. Martin's men did a fantastic job, nearly finishing the entire backsplash in a single day. Good thing too that Siegfried had measured again and noticed that Larry had not ordered enough tile. Simmons did not charge us for the extra tiles, which arrived in time for the installation. We were very pleased with our new backsplash, and with the countertops. But there was one more thing to take care of: the tile grout had somehow left ugly black marks on our countertop, which stood out even though our granite is black pearl. Siegfried came over and rubbed it vigorously with granite cleaner, and got most of it out, but he said Jason (with StoneTex) would come take a look and tell us how to take off the rest of it. After not hearing from Jason for several days, I called Siegfried again and Jason called me later that day to set up an appointment for the next morning. Next morning, Jason called saying he had food poisoning, which might be true since he sounded sick. He did not call us again the next two days, but fortunately, we could remove the last black spots ourselves with some effort. Overall, Simmons really took care of us. We now have a beautiful kitchen, though it took longer than it should have. Siegfried made sure that we were completely satisfied before collecting the balance. The price was competitive with other countertop companies in the area. But if Simmons wants to stay in the countertop business, based on our experience, I would advise them to switch granite companies. I think it would have been a nightmare to deal with StoneTex directly, and the only reason things moved along at all was because Simmons provides this company with a lot of business.

A few days before installation day, they delivered the flooring and the trim so we would have time to get the trim painted before installation. On Scott's recommendation, we got everything breakable removed from the large furniture pieces, moved out the smaller pieces, and covered everything with plastic. The crew arrived on time and went to work. They had to tear out a tile entry, a layer of laminate and under layer of vinyl in the kitchen, and carpet everywhere else. The dust this created was incredible, but Scott had warned us that it would be very dusty, and had us cover our air conditioner return vents with an extra filter. The workers put up plastic barriers to protect the rest of the house and retain the dust as much as possible. We had two days of tear out and two days of installation. In the middle of the job, the weather turned cold and it rained, but they worked through it and got the job completed. Having a work crew invade your house for four days can be traumatic under any circumstances, but the crew we had made everything so much easier for us. Scott has his own crew and does not sub the job out to someone else. Our crew was very nice, polite and professional. Not only did they do a great job; they cleaned up after themselves, leaving the house in great shape, except for a little dust, when they finished. During the job, Scott also came by to check on the progress and see if we had any concerns. We are totally satisfied with the job performance. Our floors are beautiful...it's like we have a totally new house! We would absolutely recommend Simmons Floor Covering to everyone.
