They did a wonderful on your roof, the 1st time i had john come out here, to fix a leak on my roof, he is 3rd guy to come and look into the leakage and he was the only one that got the leak fixed. and then when the Hale came and tore out the roof out, I had them again to work on the roof, and they replaced the whole thing and did a wonderful job on my roof again.

They showed up on time, were easy to work with, no complaints with quality or responsiveness. I would use them again without a doubt. They were very professional and very upfront and honest. They tried to work with me on saving as much as possible. They were very prompt and actually finished quicker than anticipated. The cleanup was tremendously done, I didnt find any nails or debris. They did an overall fantastic job! I wouldn't think of calling anyone else for any other roofing jobs in the future.

I had a problem with small animals like squirrels rodents entering the attic. I determined that the intruders were entering the roof through openings such as eaves and roof vents that weren’t sealed tightly. I called OverTheTop Roofing (ntxroofs.com) and reached Kevin Gagliardi. I explained to him I needed someone to perform a thorough hands-on inspection of animal entry points on the roof. In response, he offered a free roof inspection. I told Kevin I didn’t want a free inspection and would rather PAY him to get up on a ladder and walk the entire roof to check where animals are getting in. (I didn’t want a “free inspection” since that type of consultation is always a sales pitch for a new roof.) Again, I VOLUNTEERED TO PAY him instead of accepting his offer of a “free inspection”. I made it clear that I wanted him to charge a fair price to get on the roof so he wouldn’t feel it was a wasted trip. He understood this and he decided he would charge $150. I agreed to the price. The next day, Kevin had his son come out. Unfortunately, most of the interaction was a SALES PITCH about getting my homeowners insurance to pay them for a new roof. This type of consultation was the opposite of what I wanted. That’s what I tried to prevent with my offer to pay them! I wanted someone to actually climb on the roof and physically push their hands and fingers into any seams and crevices to see which were susceptible to animal entry. That way, I could determine what repairs were needed to seal the house. Instead, his son insisted he could “see everything” from the ground. I didn’t want to argue with him. It was clear he preferred to sell a new roof instead of doing “hands-on” work. The son finished the visual appraisal from the ground about 20 minutes after he arrived. At that point, he called his father (Kevin) and they determined a quote of $3300 to seal 19 of the gable openings. The quote was excessively high since most of the openings were already tightly sealed. I’d be paying for work that didn’t need to be done. (I eventually found another contractor to physically inspect the roof and seal the holes for $845.) I was disappointed that in trying to be fair with a roofer and PAY them for a consultation that they usually do for FREE, it did not stop their “sales pitch”. Yes, I also need my roof shingles replaced but I already knew that before his son came out. Based on what I’ve learned from this $150 transaction, I’m not going to spend $29000 with OverTheTop Roofing for a new roof. The positives: they were prompt and kept their appointment time. Kevin said they’d be out there at 2pm the next day and yes, his son did show up at 2pm. For this I rated them "Grade A" for Responsiveness and Punctuality. The negatives: They did not deliver good value for the $150 paid. For this, I rated a "Grade D". If the business offers a “free inspection” service and the customer turns it down and would rather pay, that unusual request should leave no doubt as to what the customer is looking for.
Description of Work: Thorough hands-on inspection of roof openings.

Response from OVER THE TOP ROOFING
Approx. six months ago Mr. [Member Name Removed] called Kevin with Over The Top Roofing about a rodent problem. Kevin did insist on not charging to come out and try to find out how/where the rodents are getting into Mr. [Member Name Removed] attic from the roof. Mr. [Member Name Removed] in insisted on paying something for our time and experience. Kevin said he will charge the base price of $150.00 to come out and inspect the roof for entry points for rodents getting into the attic from the roof. Mr. [Member Name Removed] and Kevin schedule a day and time. Kevin also informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that Josh would be the one that will be coming out to do the inspection. Josh showed up for the scheduled appointment on time. Josh knocked on the door to inform Mr. [Member Name Removed] that he was there to do the inspection. Mr. [Member Name Removed] and Josh walked around the house on the ground looking up at the roof. Josh informed and showed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that all the 19 eves on his roof have small opening where rodents can get in and also informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that the old style turtle vents that are on his roof have openings, where they vent that allow rodents to get in as well. Josh told Mr. [Member Name Removed] that putting metal underneath all the 19 eves is the right way to do it, because rodents would not be able to get past the metal. Josh Informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that rodents chew on the soffit and trim to make a hole to get into the attic. Putting caulk is not a proper solution. It is best to do all the eves, so that Mr. [Member Name Removed] doesn't have any problems in the future with rodents trying to get in other eves on his roof. Josh told Mr. [Member Name Removed] that since his roof is real steep, he can see everything from the ground. Mr. [Member Name Removed] agreed with Josh. Josh also pointed out how old Mr. [Member Name Removed] roof was because he could see the fibers showing from the shingles where the granules have come off the shingles. Also, Josh pointed out hail damage on his roof. Josh informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] of the situation of his roof. Josh asked Mr. [Member Name Removed] why doesn't he call his insurance company and report a claim to get a new roof, because the roof has hail damage and is depreciated out. Mr. [Member Name Removed] told Josh that he doesn't want his insurance to go up on him for making a claim. Josh informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that insurance companies go up on everyone no matter if you make a claim or not due to storms in the area, and that if he lets his roof go for too much longer then his insurance will not pay for it due to being to depreciated out. Then his insurance will force him to do it his self or cancel his insurance on his house. This is not a sells pitch, but only the truth that most customers do not know. Josh Informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that by getting a new roof from his insurance paying for it, then he would get the eves fixed and get new slant back vents where the rodents could not get into, without paying for it out of pocket. Mr. [Member Name Removed] told Josh that he did not want to make a claim at all. Mr. [Member Name Removed] asked Josh what needs to be done to fix the problem of the rodents getting into his attic from the roof. Josh said that he could put metal underneath all 19 eves to block the holes and paint them and replace all the turtle vents with slant back vents and that will take care of the rodents from getting into his attic. Mr. [Member Name Removed] asked Josh how much will it cost, Josh said let me call Kevin and ask. Also josh told Mr. [Member Name Removed] that he will write up an estimate for all the work with a price to do the work. When Josh presented the estimate to Mr. [Member Name Removed], Mr. [Member Name Removed] said that he can't imagine paying someone so much money to do a day to a day in a half worth of work. Josh told Mr. [Member Name Removed] that he called a company not an individual, and that the work will be done professionally. Josh told Mr. [Member Name Removed] that Over The Top Roofing doesn't band-aid anything, the company does every job right. Josh also informed Mr. [Member Name Removed] that the company is insured, given with how steep his roof is and how bad the shingles are on gripping. His roof is a bigger liability for workers. Mr. [Member Name Removed] did not agree with the price on the estimate for the repairs. Mr. [Member Name Removed] gave josh a check for $150.00 for the inspection. Over The Top Roofing would not do a cheap, easy, fast fix for Mr. [Member Name Removed]. That was what Mr. [Member Name Removed] was looking for, so Over The Top Roofing could not please Mr. [Member Name Removed]. Note: Josh nor Over The Top Roofing ever gave Mr. [Member Name Removed] a price for replacing his entire roof. When Over The Top Roofing does roof Inspections, it is our job to point out everything that is seen on the roof. And to explain everything that we see, so that the customers are aware of any issues or situations of there roof. Not for a sales pitch. With being in Business for over 40 years and having over 40 years of experience, Josh or Kevin doesn't have to get on certain roofs to see or know certain problems that are going on with a roof. Especially when it comes to rodents getting into the attic from a roof. This is also why we do not charge for roof inspections or estimates. Mr. [Member Name Removed] roof is not walkable, due to the pitch and depreciation of his shingles. So it is a liability to try and walk a roof like his without the proper equipment. He never asked Josh to walk his roof, he agreed with Josh that they both could see the openings at the bottom of the eves from the ground because of how steep his roof was. Josh was at Mr. [Member Name Removed] house for around an hour going over all the problems and solutions. Over The Top Roofing apologies to Mr. [Member Name Removed] for not being able to satisfy him.

Over The Top Roofing is the only roofer I will call going forward. I also referred them to my daughter. Excellent job and service,
Description of Work: I called Over the Top Roofing to repair my roof after another Contractor did not fix the leaks with all the work they did and were paid for. Over The Top Roofing identified the source of the leaks and corrected the problem by placing the correct size vents over my bathrooms and sealing down shingles over my laundry room that the other contractor did not do. The roof has not leaked since. Even their invoice is very detailed as to what was done and where on the roof. Very professional company.

I worked with Josh on the initial estimate and through out the procedure. He was very knowledgeable and attentive to my many questions about the services. He was also willing to change to a product I felt more comfortable with over their normal product they use as well. Responsiveness was a bit delayed in placing the new roofing system on, but was expected by me due to the number of homes that were affected in 2017 in the Dallas area. It wasn't too much of a concern as they (and I) didn't see any critical areas that needed repair and allowed for the repairs to be deferred so that more substantially damaged homes could be serviced first. Once they arrived, the Over the Top Roofing crew knocked out the replacement in two days. With four dogs barking the whole time this is being done, the shorter the install time the better. Kudos guys...I and my ears thank you for that. The new roof looks great and complements the look of the home. Two days after completion, we had a few heavy Tstorms come through (no hail this time) with very heavy driving rains. No leaks seen anywhere, I even went into the attic during the storms and saw nothing. Great job Over The Top Roofing, that's one less thing nagging at me in the back of my mind.

Please read complaints on BBB prior to hiring this company. Consumer beware of this company's bad business practices and rude attitude with customers. They try to bully you into paying before your insurance company inspector comes out to check the work. They do not like customers to ask questions about the work or process. They neglected to communicate the process with me or put a contract in place before starting the work on my home. They used a sloppy crew to do my roof who did not use a tarp and just trashed my yard with nails. The job took 3 days and they still left the nails there. Both owners, Kevin and Josh (father and son) are impossible to reason with. They blame their workers for everything and get nasty with their customers. Josh blames his father for mistreating their customers and yet the apple don't fall far from the tree. Not only is there no contract signed for the work, they have also removed and destroyed my gutters without my permission and got the nerve to threaten to sue me.
Description of Work: I need roofing work done and received an estimate for work in April. They scheduled to come out to on July 5th, but showed up unexpected on July 3rd during the rain. They did not communicate about the process or how long the job would take. They sent a crew on July 5th to start the work, but never met with me nor presented a contract. They removed and destroyed my roof after I specifically stated that I did not want them to do my gutters. I can't comment on the quality of my roofing work, as I am waiting on my insurance inspection to confirm.

Response from OVER THE TOP ROOFING
[Member Name Removed] has made false claims about my company (Over the Top Roofing). The majority of the time the insurance company never comes out to inspect the roof. We personally go back and check the work of all our roofers and that is when we determine if the job is complete or not. We ask the customer to pay after the job is completed and they have received the first check from the insurance, they then pay us with the second check that states the job is completed from the insurance. [Member Name Removed] refused to pay us before the job was completed, she came home while the job was in progress. She called me very upset stating that there was nails in her yard. I then explained to her that the job was not completed. I asked her to give us time to complete the job. She was very upset and hung up on me. She then sent pictures via text of the nails in her yard. I explained to her through text that the job was not completed and asked her to give us time to complete the job and to inspect our roofers work. She then replied to me and said "quit being a smart a**" I was trying to explain to her why the nails were in her yard. When I told her, I would come out there and inspect the work she denied me to come on to her property and threatened me stating that she would hire someone else to inspect our work and that we were going to pay for it. [Member Name Removed] said that "they do not like customers to ask questions about the process of the job". Prior to the job being started I explained the whole process of the job from start to finish with [Member Name Removed] just like I do with every customer. [Member Name Removed] told me that she understood the process after I had explained it to her. Normally we have a contract for the customer and I to both sign before the job is started but we did fail to have her sign the contract because she was recommended by a previous customer of ours so we trusted [Member Name Removed] and did not believe it would be an issue. A contract is only put in place to ensure that we get paid for the job we have done when it is completed. [Member Name Removed] also said that "they used a sloppy crew that didn't use a tarp and trashed my yard with nails" the crew that completed her job has been with my company for years. Never once have I had a complaint on this crew once the job was fully completed which hers was not. The job is not completed until I personally inspect the job from the roof to the yard. If I find something that has failed the inspection I have my crew come back out and make sure it is completed after that then I re inspect the job. This was explained to [Member Name Removed] through text after my crew had finished the roof but we had not yet inspected the job there for the job was not fully completed but she believed it was. [Member Name Removed] called me on July 7th 2017 and allowed me to send my son Josh to do the inspection of the job. Josh arrived at [Member Name Removed]'s house on July 8th 2017 in the early afternoon. Josh inspected the job with [Member Name Removed] present and personally magnetized her whole yard (front and back) with [Member Name Removed] present to make sure she was 100% satisfied with the inspection and cleanup of the job. [Member Name Removed] also stated that "the job took three days". Some jobs take us longer than others due to the weather/heat and the size of the roof. This also was explained to [Member Name Removed] before the job was started. We do not rush our crews nor pressure them to complete a job in a specific amount of time to make sure the job is done correctly. [Member Name Removed] stated that "both Josh and Kevin are impossible to reason with, they blame their workers for everything and get nasty with their customers". Never once did I blame my workers for anything on [Member Name Removed]'s job. I only explained that if my workers failed to do something that they were instructed to do that I would make sure that it got taken care of. Which is part of my final inspection. I never get nasty with customers I only try to fix any problems that they may have. [Member Name Removed] became uncordial over the phone and through text messages about the nails in her yard and threatened to not pay us once the job was completed. [Member Name Removed] stated that we "removed and destroyed her gutters without consent". From the beginning [Member Name Removed] wanted us to replace the roof and the gutters because her insurance was paying for both. I wrote the invoice for [Member Name Removed]'s job which included the roof and the gutters as [Member Name Removed] requested. [Member Name Removed] stated "they threatened to sue me". Before [Member Name Removed] had contacted me on July 7th 2017 she would not allow my company on her property to complete her job so I told [Member Name Removed] that she had to pay me for the work was done and that she had a week to do so upon the agreement that she would pay us with the first check that she had already received from the insurance. We never ask anyone to pay us before the job is complete but seeing that [Member Name Removed] would not allow us on her property to complete the job I was forced to request payment before the job was completed. (the only part of the job that was not completed was the inspection). [Member Name Removed] stated that "we were scheduled to come to her house to start the job on July 5th 2017 but that we showed up on July 3rd 2017 unannounced during the rain". I informed [Member Name Removed] over the phone that we would be starting her job on the first week of July 2017. I had [Member Name Removed]'s material scheduled to be delivered on the 3rd of July 2017 and my crew to start the job on the 3rd of July as well. When my crew showed up at [Member Name Removed]'s house that morning [Member Name Removed] called me and asked if my crew would be working that day due to the rain in the morning. I told [Member Name Removed] that they will not start working till the rain has passed like it showed on the radar. The radar showed that the rain was supposed to stop around 10:00am on July 3rd 2017. [Member Name Removed] told us that she did not want them to start the job that day and asked if they could reschedule for Wednesday which was the 5th of July because Tuesday was the 4th of July. My crew then went back to [Member Name Removed]'s house on the morning of July 5th as requested to start the job. [Member Name Removed] had no concerns about the roof the only thing that she was upset about was the nails in her yard and the gutters. [Member Name Removed] stated that her roof looked great. When replacing gutters on any job we have to take the old gutters off because the existing gutters have pins that go through the original metal edge.

I had a leak in my roof, I had received estimates ranging from $1600 to $8000 to do extensive work to the roof. But I could not get the people to come out and repair it Over the top repaired it for $150 on the same day they came out to look at it. I had another leak on the opposite side of the house requiring slightly more work $350 repaired the next day. I highly recommend this company for any roofing you need on any structure
