MY FLOORING AMERICA

Absolutely horrible experience. DO NOT BUY! So I had flooring installed by this company 7 years ago that was around 1000 sqft. My wife and I are currently remodeling part of our house and decided to continue the wood flooring throughout and went back through Costco to use this contractor. A few warning signs coming... So they send me a sales guy that didn’t really know what he was doing but claimed to be with the company 6 years plus. (Come to find out that’s not true) So anyhow Caleb comes out and tells me that matching the wood would be no problem and they could have it installed in the time frame needed. So my project is remodeling my kitchen, front entryway, and dining room and I contacted them back in August and needed an install date in mid October which was originally scheduled for October 13. I didn’t really like the pricing but I did like the idea that the wood would be continued throughout my entire house it would match ideally perfect which I was reassured by Caleb that this was true. I also figured that I had gone through Costco and utilize my membership so if there an approved vendor that this is going to work. I didn’t really like the price and did the demo myself because they had bumped her head on pricing per square foot. $3 to demo and $4 to install. Absolutely robbery, that’s $7 a sqft. (FYI my new guy is $2 and $1) anyhow, I paid them in cash about the second week in September in full but I have contacted them in August it took two weeks for them to even get a guy out here to me. So we’re coming up on the October 13 date for install in about a week before I get a call from them saying that I’m delayed 10 days till October 23. Now all my Flooring’s been ripped up I have a project going that they’re basically pushing the timeframe back 10 days on and half my house is demolished so I’m not very happy about that. Ends up I talked to a guy at corporate name is Jim he was a very nice guy and he reassured me that this would go off without a hitch on October 23. October 23 rolls around and the installer show up I meet the guys, actually like them, they were very knowledgeable and they regretted to inform me that the wood doesn’t match. Basically the width, the length, and the color were all wrong, not even close. In fact the only aspect of the flooring that was correct is that it was a wood base product. So now instead of waiting another 45 days to start this process all over I absolutely fired them and requested an immediate refund to go and hire a company that can actually get this done. After filling out the required paperwork and asking and requesting for an immediate refund even if I had to go to Denton to pick up the check personally I have still not received one it’s been over a week and I’m pretty furious about it. On Monday when I spoke with Caleb after four days of contacting him in regards to a refund I asked to speak with his manager who I have yet to hear from and they’ve basically robbed my money and not given it back. I will be posting a review on every review site I see as well as with Costco and the BBB so other people won’t be taken advantage of the same way.

Marcus and the sales team was great, and buyer beware that's where the pleasant experience ends. Lorie and the scheduling and install team was awful. We moved all of our stuff from our carpeted areas the day before the install crew was scheduled to show up. Then they call me an hour before they were supposed to show up and told me they did not have the material and would not be coming. They asked me to wait a week to schedule the install. This is a massive inconvenience because like I said before they had us move all of our stuff out of the rooms recieving the carpet. They would not call me back when they promised to in order to keep me informed about rescheduling. When I finally did get a new appointment (one week after originally scheduled) they called me the day of again and pushed my time back and now they need to work over two days because they have pushed me back so late in the day. I would never do business here again. Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I should have stuck with Home Depot.

Horribly. Now, a year and a half later, my floors look awful. There are gaps between boards, both side-to-side and end-to-end. They look terrible. Photos attached.

They were great. They did good work in a timely manner. The workers were great and they cleaned up.

After spending too long looking at carpet destroyed by our children, we decided to install wood flooring throughout the house. We shopped around several stores and ended up going with this company because of their price. Our salesperson was great and the install was smooth and on-time. We would 100% recommend them.

We had a great experience with My Flooring America. The sales people were professional and the installers did a fantastic job. We love our new floors!

I did was about four years ago. It was fine once I got them to do it. I took a week off to do the flooring myself and I waited for the materials to show-up. It didn't show-up during that week, so I had to go back to work. It showed up after that, and I told them that they wasted my entire vacation. I told them if they wanted me to continue to business with them, they were going to need to install it. They installed it and didn't charge me for it. It was a fair price and the quality was excellent. After I got the materials to install in my office, it was good. They got right out and got it installed. They did good being on time. They were very professional. I'm looking into having them do my kitchen floor. They could have gotten the materials in on time. I would use them again.

We purchased the best carpet and padding they carried with 15+ year warranty. The sales process was easy enough and the installation was satisfactory. However, in less than two years the carpet shows a significant amount of wear. The store sent a claims representative to our home and he agreed that the carpet certainly should not have worn so fast. They agreed to replace the carpet. I however asked for a refund for the cost of the carpet since we're likely have the same results with the same carpet. I'm not asking for a full refund of padding, installation and carpet. I want a refund just for the carpet only. They offered a measly $700 settlement and have yet to follow through on my repeated phone calls for a suitable resolution. UPDATE: Jan 2016 We finally reached a resolution and a refund amount that was satisfactory. Although we would rather have had the quality carpet we expected, we are pleased to have a partial refund.

They put in the wrong color grout in one place. They used the correct color when they came out the first time. We broke a tile and had to have it replaced. I offered to pay them to install the new tile. They said they would do it for free. That’s when they used the wrong color grout. They said they would order the new grout and could come back to fix it but they never did. The nails where the carpet meets the tile are very sharp. We hammered that down so it doesn’t poke out any more.

They did not return my calls (three of them) requesting the replacement of one of my floor boards. After spending over $21,000 with this company in January 2011, I thought they would be somewhat responsive. After leaving 2 messages with the Denton office, I stopped by the Flower Mound location with my $21K receipt in hand. The gentleman was nice and helpful, but said that the Denton office would have to do the repairs. He put me in direct contact with the cell phone of the Denton man (Kirby) in charge of repairs. I left a voicemail on his cell and still have NOT heard back as of today (9/3/2013). I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Hardwood representative assigned to me by Kirby Kelch was great! He was very informative and helpful. Job was scheduled within of few days of the estimate being approved. The hardwood crew was clean and courtesous. They did a great job of handscraping and staining. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

We had a really good experience with My Flooring America. The employees were friendly and attentive even as we changed our minds numerous times on the flooring and tile choices. The work went smoothly. At one point the workers began laying tile without having first removed the base boards. I knew that some contractors recommend this and some do not. I really wanted the baseboards removed first, so I stopped the work and asked them to redo what they had done and remove the baseboards first. There was no argument. The installers immediately did what I asked. I really appreciated that. Overall, our floors look beautiful and I'm thrilled with the results.

Estimate for work more extensive than I deemed necessary. Therefore, I performed repair using materials on-hand.

The experience was not as good as expected. The wood floor that I had installed was not level. Made calls to the Flower Mound stor and the office in Denton but they did not return calls or come back and fix it or even look at it.

The insurance company paid for the material and installation. This company was their choice to replace flooring damaged by a plumbing caused flood. Initially they scheduled an installation three weeks from the order which was really disappointing after the inconvenience and time spent drying the house out with fans and dehumidifiers. After I expressed disatisfaction they were extremely responsive and worked to get material installed very promptly. The installation was good with the exception of a crease in one room which they very promptly came back to fix. Work was done as promised and much effort made to get us back to normal after a very trying situation.

Kirby Kelch literally screamed at me on the phone and I hung up on him. Only reason I settled with him, ever, though it wasn't done right, was because it was affecting my health. I have a heart and thyroid condition, and am also a diabetic. I'm just now feeling better from whatever I got from their sick employee. Doctors think it may have been Ecoli.
