I furnished the Kilz primer, the final coat of paint, and the caulk, because I could get a 10% military discount at Lowe’s and could get a refund on what they did not use. They spray-painted where I wanted, using drop clothes to avoid over spray on the brick and the shingles, and brush painted where I wanted, after a thorough scraping of the old paint. We reasoned that since we’re retired we have more time than money and we could save 57% of the cost of the total job if we painted the bottom half of the house ourselves, and let them do the top half. I regret not having them paint the entire job, because we had the most tedious part. His crew of four did the top half in one day, but it took us about two weeks, working about 5 hours per day, to do the bottom half. I highly recommend them for their quality work. I’m only giving them a rating of 9.9 out of 10 for two reasons: First, because David did not come back to see how his crew did, and get my feedback; and second, because one of the workmen, not knowing that I loaned them a 10’ x 10’ heavy-duty plastic drop cloth, took it with the rest of their equipment when their job was done, and has not returned it when someone must have realized that it was not part of their standard canvas drop clothes.
