We had contacted Ron to start the remodel and informed him that he would need to be able to do this without day-to-day supervision due to the fact that we were 350 miles away. We were told that we would need to sign a contract and we told him okay, to draw it up and give it to us the next time we were at the house. Everytime we showed up at the house, even if we gave him advanced notice that we would be there, he would have some excuse as to why he didn't have the contract with him. We had him go ahead and work on the house because we were on a tight time schedule. We had just a little under two months to get everything done and knew that we needed to start as soon as possible. He assured us that there was plenty of time to finish it all and that he would be finish with time to spare. We would give him draws to buy materials or for work that was done and everything was going pretty well. When it came down to finishing things out and getting the house ready over the last month we found out that there was alot of things he started and did just enough so that it seemed to be finished or close enough to finished so he could get another draw. He got a large draw from us to supposedly finish up the rest of the house and to buy the materials to start a large workshop out back of the house. When we came down a week later to check the progress we found out that he had walked off the job and left the closet that he had started building open to the outside, which left the whole house open since he had already cut the access from the new closet to the house, and had not bought any materials for the workshop with the large draw we had given him but had just kept the money. He not only ran off with our money but left several really large piles of trash all over the property. Ron is not reliable and is definately not trustworthy. I would never use him again and would definately not recommend him to anyone else.
