+ -1 moreWhen the estimator came to look at the foundation I didn't feel that he was very professional or thorough. I never once saw him take any kind of measurement. Other companies that we considered took numerous measurements and made notes and drawings. Allied's pricing was very competitive, and in some cases half of other companies, but we found this slightly concerning. After talking to several neighbors and friends who had negative experiences with this company we decided not to use them even though they had the best price.

+ -1 moreOur foundation had a crack running through it that we could see under the linoleum in one bathroom so that, coupled with sticking doors and cracks around the windows, told us we had a serious slab failure. The week prior to having the work done, they came at the appointed time to give us an estimate. They were courteous and professional and gave us a date the following week that the work could be done. Estimated cost was in betweem two prior quotes we had received. They arrived in the morning of the day they said they would be there with a small crew. Several of the shrubs around the house were not removed, but tied back away from the structure. Holes were dug and piers driven around the house without much disruption to the household. A couple of additional workers showed up to later to complete the job. Where piers were placed in the driveway, the concrete was acceptibly patched. They were in and out when they said they would be. The power tools they used drew too much amperage for one of our circuits and burned out a breaker. We called them to tell them of the issue and they agreed to pay the cost of the breaker replacement. Some of our shrubs have not recovered as there was some root exposure when they pulled them away from the house. These are pretty minor things that did not bother us much. The doors are no longer sticking, the cracks around door frames and windows have closed up, and the visible crack under the linoleum is closed as well. Overall we are very pleased with the results.

+ -1 moreThe actual foundation repair went well but the crew cut the roots on 5 different hedges that have since died and been removed. Made several attempts to have them come and repair as advertised but no one would ever call back. The damage to to the landscapingwill likely cost me around 1000 dollars to repair. I would use them again for foundation repair provided i held the payment until the landscaping was satisfactory.

+ 0 moreEvery thing went fine. They said that they would be here at 9am and leave at 2pm. They were here at 5 minutes to 9 and left at 15 minutes to 2. They also cleaned up as they went. There was a crew of 8 with 2 others that made sure that they did the job right. The only problem that I had was a week later when we had a big rain storm, some of the holds sink down. I called them and they came out 3 days later and put more dirt in the holes. With all of the rain 5 of holds did sink a little so I put real dirt in with the clay and that seems to have stopped the problem. So much for mussy clay. All of the men were very nice and answered my questions about what they were doing. I have learn a lot about mussy clay. I would hire them again.

+ -1 moreAfter checking with a few other companies, it was found that I didn't need foundation work which causes me to question why anyone would use this company unless a structural engineer found that foundation work was needed and you just had them quote on doing the work as specified. I'd rather use more honest and reliable companies such as Bonilla or Church services.
Description of Work: Representative came to my home to survey and provide an assessment of my home foundation structure. He didn't take any grade measurements, but simply walked around with a big leveler and provided a quote. His quote of $ 9 K to install 24 piers wasn't found to be reliable. I would not recommend this company.

Description of Work: I had Allied come out and provide an estimate. They did not use the engineering measurement that most other companies use, it is a yellow casing and I believe this measures the sinking areas-I had hired a Professional Engineer eventually who used the same device. Allied used a basic balance so it did not see so professional and the salesman claim was that this works just fine. Allied provided me a very low cost quote which at first sounded great. However, after I had several company's come out, I was given different quotes and each gave their rationale. I then hired a Professional Structural Engineer (PE) who did confirm the foundation issue and the need for pilings with the bar that runs through the middle so it is secured or piers, however piers are much much more expensive. I ask the PE about company's and he advised to stay away from Allied and it made sense after I re-examined there quotation and compared to others and research out there. I also did some more research and found that Allied ratings on BBB.org (http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-reviews/foundation-contractors/allied-foundation-specialists-in-deer-park-tx-40521) is a B grade, although that doesn't sound bad initially, it is because they have over a dozen issues reported with their Product/Service and Warranty and other Foundation Repair companies have A and A+. So Allied is not worth it, you will learn that once there is a Foundation issue, you will have to spend lots of money (thousands) and it is better to spend a few thousand more, but be careful cause there are companies out there who advertise a lot and sound credible but are EXTREMELY expensive. Once I finalize the company I about to use, you will find my review under their company with information as to why I went with them, which includes quality and price (lower than the EXTREMELY expensive ones). Good luck!

I six different quotes from other companies but Allied Foundation Specialists quoted me reasonable, they were honest about what type of work I really need while the other companies was saying that the whole foundation needs work. When they did the work, they cleaned up really good and they put them all back in place after the work without any mess left behind. They went beyond my expectations. They were available and return calls. They have service excellence.

+ -1 moreI called Allied Foundation because we had a crack in the brick outside & a small crack by the small window inside. We had a few other concerns,too. After inspection, the salesman said we needed 25 piers around most of the house that would cost $5000.00. I asked about a senior discount. After returning to the office, he called quoting $4500,00 with the discount. After discussing this with my husband & researching further on Angie's List, we decided to call a structural engineer. After inspection, the engineer said that our home was NOT a candidate for foundation repair. The cost of the engineer was $175.00. Buyer beware.

+ -1 moreService Rep. arrived on time on the scheduled appt. day. He had even called ahead to confirm appt. Very professional, very polite. After. thoroughly inspecting the area of my home which concerned me, he advised me i was experiencing normal settling and I did not need foundation repair yet. He told me what to watch for in the future and when it might be time to contact him again. They was no service call charge, just a free estimate. I totally appreciated their honestly and will definitely call Allied Foundation Repair in the future if I experience foundation problems.

They encouraged me to ask questions and they answered all my questions promptly. I am very happy with the work done and would not hesitate to recommend Allied to anybody needing work done on their foundation.
Description of Work: A rep came to our home and did a free estimate. He explained the work to be done and the cost. On the appointed day the crew arrived on time and leveled our slab with 18 concrete pylons. They cleaned up the entire area including straightening out the flower beds, rinsing off the drive and the walks and repairing concrete .

+ -1 moreTeam arrived as scheduled to do the work. They removed earth and plantings near the foundation where they provided piers, and replaced the earth. There was earth left over, which they piled at the place of our choice on the driveway. The work was completed in one day, with a very efficient team. Our only complaint would be that some of the earth settled near the site of some of the piers, but we were able to fill the holes with earth that remained. We had some shifting many months later, after the drought, and Allied came back in a timely manner and made good on their unconditional lifetime warranty.
Description of Work: We called Allied Foundation and made an appointment for them to assess our foundation. They kept the appointment, were prompt, did measurements, and gave proposals for two options: to provide piers only where earth shifting was obvious, or to provide piers all the way around the house. We chose to do all 24 piers. Allied could have come the next day to do the work, but we were not available that day. They came two days later, and completed the work in one day.

Description of Work: Needed My Home re leveled. It was off Level by 2 inches in some Areas. Also needed Piers in the Center of my House. Company dug Hole thru the Center of my Hallway.They cleaned up very well after Job was finished. Crew arrived earlier than expected instead of 9 AM at 0820 AM. Got right to Work and kept going , till the Job was done. Lead was courteous and pleasant. Already referred Company to my Neighbors and have no Problems to refer them in the Future.

The workmen kept me updated as they completed each major step and at the end showed me the levels at each place affected by the repair. Their prices were reasonable, the paperwork straightforward, and the work came warrantied. A five star experience!

+ -1 moreCame on time. A drizzly day but workers able to accomplish job. Several plants had to be removed and concrete in drive and back porch had to be removed in seven places. House is now level. Work done well.New concrete was put in place. Only issue was loss of two plants and not filling in the holes completely. I had to use about 35 shovels full of dirt to properly fill holes. Overall OK
Description of Work: Levelled house by installing 34 piers and 5 pads. Installation of piers went entirely around house.

+ -1 moreWe had an independent structural engineer assess our home and foundation due to wall and door way cracks, doors not shutting issues. Found no slab problems but the S.E. recommended 2 root barriers and a plumbing pressure test to ensure no underground water leaks. We did both and chose Allied Foundation Specialists for the Root Barriers due to many good Angie's List Reviews. They came right out and did a free estimate based on our SE report. We did get other estimates that were a few dollars different but went with Allied due to the strong company tenure and reviews of other similar great jobs done. We scheduled service and they didn't show up. We called and somehow had not been put on the list due to their office communication. They scheduled us for a week later and it wasn't really an issue - we just went on to work. Next time they called, and came on time - actually arrived 2 hours early ! There was a team of 8 or 10. Both Root Barriers were installed and we got a 10% discount for being Angie List customers. The workers were excellent, the head person even took his boots off when I asked him to come in for the payment. Very nice and we will definitely recommend them. We'll call Allied for other yard issues if ever needed. Plus we will call them the day before to ensure we are scheduled (ha ha). They were very nice about it and we appreciate their professionalism.

+ -1 moreI had an appointment set up for a foundation repair estimate but stated that I might have to reschedule as we were in the late stages of pregnancy and could have a baby soon. Of course, we did have a baby a day or two before our appointment. Luckily, the estimator called me to tell me he was on his way but was very understanding and professional and understood that I was in the hospital and was in no way ready to do this at the moment. I asked if he could return my call the next week. I never heard back from him so I called Allied and asked if I could speak with him about rescheduling. The man on the phone (who said he was in charge of scheduling) insisted that it didn't matter and I would have to just get back in line so to speak even though I told him a representative was supposed to call me back. After some debate, I finally gave in and figured I might as well reschedule then. I started giving him my address (which has "Bambi" in the street name) but he couldn't understand what I was saying. I had to spell out my street name three times but he still didn't understand so I said, "you know, like the famous deer in the Disney movie?" And he replied that he has never heard of such a thing. I was, by then, so fed up with all of it that I just said I wasn't interested in doing business with them.

I looked at Angie's List and found that Allied had someone come to my house, look at what needed to be done to level the house, and gave me a reasonable quote on the work to be done. I made an appointment as to when the work would be done. They were punctual and finished in a few hours.
Description of Work: Placed piers under the left front corner of the house in order to level it. The company men dug holes in order to put the piers under the foundation. The work area was left clean and smooth.

+ -1 moreOn 02/26/2013 my realtor at the request of a prospective buyer called Allied Foundation to determine if the foundation n the house needed repair and how much it would cost. They came out promptly and gave her the estimate which she e-mailed to me. I looked at some other companies on the list and they seemed to have the best reviews. I made arrangements for them to come out on 03/11/2013 which was the earliest available appointment. They called back on 03/06/2013 and said they could be there that day. It took them about half a day (they originally told me that but I didn't really think it would happen). We didn't waste a lot of time with them trying to explain what they were doing or me asking dumb questions since that "deer in the headlights look" says it all. I am sure that if I wanted to ask questions they would have certainly answered them. Everything was cleaned up nicely when they left and everyone at the company was very easy to work with.
