I was quoted for 18 piers. The number 18 was chosen by the quoter, not me. This means he felt my home needed 18 piers. I mentioned the Angies List 10% discount. They honored it. The work was done 6 weeks later. When I went to sign and pay the paperwork said 16 piers were installed. What does this mean? Allied Foundation didn't complete the work quoted, but instead did less work. I have made 4 phone calls over the last 48 hours and have not received a single call back. What they did was unethical and the fact that I cannot get a callback definitely makes me assume the worst. ==UPDATE== ~70 hours after my initial message with Allied's "message service," I finally received a call back. I was refunded 10% of the purchase price which I was happy about. I was also explained that they only installed 18 piers because that's all they thought I needed, and if they needed to install more they would have. I'm not 100% sure about all of this, but the gentleman I spoke to seemed convincing enough. I'm giving Allied the benefit of the doubt that this was simply a matter of miscommunication, and nothing else. Why it took 70 hours for Allied to get back to me is beyond me, but all is well for the time being.

EXCEEDINGLY WELL They were scheduled to arrived between 9:00 or 10:00 am on the morning of November 4, 2013. Arrival was promply at 8:30 am thirty minutes early which i had no objections, maintained a professional behavior, entertained any and all questions and concerns without hesitation. The price I question mainly because reseaching and reviewing other comments I saw that one individual paid $4800. for 43 pier beams.

The crew appeared on schedule and completed the job in just a few hours. We could not believe they were so fast! Doors that haven't closed in years, now close effortlessly. This company is professional and truly fantastic. They also put piers in the corner of our neighbors house! He was thrilled! They know exactly what you need, have the tools and manpower for the job and respect your property.

Allied showed up early and professionally repaired our foundation. The cracks in our walls were gone and they patched up the stone and brick on the exterior of house. They repaired parts of our deck they had to cut into to access our foundation and also put back all the landscaping we had around the house. They made sure our doors were closing well, even adjusting door hinges for us. They cleaned up after themselves and our wrap around porch was left cleaner than before they arrived. Their prices were good and they held to estimated price. The only category not receiving an A was responsiveness, and I gave them a B because they were sometimes difficult to reach, with voicemail being full and unable to reach a contact person. But overall great job with the foundation repair.

Loved that they took the measurements and then told us the truth. They gave us an estimate for work and explained that while we had some foundation movement, it was not completely necessary to perform the work now. They let us keep all of the measurements for the future without charging us for the estimate. Thank you. When it is time to perform the work, we will be calling back. I am going to have them look at another one of our properties next.

A thoroughly disappointing experience. The original (written) estimate we received was for $5800 to install a number of piers. As soon as the workers started they told us they were going to have to dig about tunnels to get around a sewage pipe and an irrigation line, cost of the tunneling was $150 per foot. This would more than double the cost compared to the original estimate. I am not certain if this was some sort of scam and this is how Allied Foundation normally operates, or if the company is just so poorly managed that they send out people with absolutely no training or experience to provide estimates. I understand the technical issues involved, and I'm willing to pay a fair price for work that needs to be done. But, I will not do business with a company that operates in such a manner. I was told by the manager that "there's just no way anyone could have foreseen this". That's a ridiculous thing for a foundation company to say. I would expect that anyone involved in foundation repair would have come across pipes before. Foundation work is a serious undertaking and I refuse to allow anyone to do this work on my house unless I have full confidence in them. Clearly Allied Foundation repair does not warrant that confidence.
Description of Work: A representative came to the house, discussed the foundation issues and their solutions and provided us an estimate. We scheduled the work. The crew showed up on time to start the work. Five minutes into the job they informed us that the estimate was wrong and that it was going to cost an additional $6,000 on top of the estimate!

Piers do not hold. When called out again in 2013 because they are failing again, he said "It is only off by 1/4" ", using a 3' level, then tried to sell me a new product they were pushing to be put in front of the fireplace - the fireplace is not the problem. The house is falling on the front and the side where they put piers already.

I could not be happier the way the entire project went with Allied Foundation. They quoted me quickly, the price came in half of what other companies had quoted me, they were able to come out for the repair in less than 2 weeks and the repair only took one day. The crew was on time, very friendly and helpful and did a great job putting everything back. I can't recommend them enough.

The salesman that came out and gave us the quote told us that we need to use soaker hoses for two hours a day the five days before they arrived to do the work. This, however, was not correct. It made the job much more difficult and took much longer than they had expected albeit at no additional cost to me. The result of the leveling was beyond what I had hoped for. The house came back almost completely level. My complaint is that they did not do a really good job of clean up. It was late when they finished and I did not do a good job of walking the perimeter. We found trash and several of our plants were poorly re-planted the next day. The biggest issue was that they did a very poor job of re-assembling the sprinkler system. We have above ground sprinkler heads at odd angles. We will likely have to get a sprinkler repairman to remedy the issue. I realize that the job ran long but it seems like they just threw everything back together once they were done - it makes me wonder about the quality of the work I can't see. Overall, they did an acceptable job. If you use them, just be aware that there will be collateral damage, but they do a good job of leveling the foundation.

I had an appointment for Tuesday 9/3 between 1-2 o'clock. 3 men showed up and said that they would finish that day. A little later more men came and another truck. There was about 15 men total and they were finished by 5 o'clock. I was checking things when I found my back door would not close. The foreman then told me that I needed 3 more peers around the fireplace that was close to the back door. I could not reach the office that day it was to late. The next day I called too schedule them to come back and to find out what kind of deal they would do since the estimator did not include the 3 peers. The gentleman that I talked to said he wanted to talk to the owner to please hold on. When he got back on the phone I was told there would be no charge. Today the men came out and put the 3 peers in and the door works great. I am very satisfied with the work and the company.
Description of Work: I was told that I would need 23 peers to take a 2' gap at the peek of the side with brick. The estimate was for about $4000.00 and I used Angie's 10 % discount.

Everything went according to what we were told. The original estimate was right on. Everything on schedule. Not much mess with the amount of digging and earth removed. No surprises. There is a lifetime guarantee for the foundation repair. The guarantee stays with the house. We would definitely hire and/or recommend Allied to our family and friends.

We set up an appointment on 08/20/13 for 10am to 11am . My wife had asked to be off from work so she can also hear if we need foundation work done or not. I called at 9am at 281-479-5247 to confirm but i always get the busy signal, So I called back a few times and got someone to confirmed that someone was coming between 10am to 11am. I then wait till after 11am and call then back again but get busy signal again, so I keep trying and trying , calling back to see what is the hold up and the lady says she will call the guy that is coming to my house so that he can call me back. So a Max calls me back and lets me know that he will be at my house at 12:30pm . So then 12:30pm passes by and my wife says she cannot wait anymore and that she will have to go back to work. So I called a 3rd time and asked to speak with the manager or the owner to make him aware of the responsiveness and punctuality problem that I was having. The Lady over the phone tells me that she will have the owner call me back because there was not a supervisor available. THEN Max calls me back to let me know why I called his office and I informed him that I was trying to reach the manager or Owner . Max then says he is the owner and that I should understand that it is a big company and he sees so many homes a day. I informed him that so far his company is not being straight with me and that i was not happy and that I am to the point that I was thinking about cancelling. . Max then says to me ... Oh ok , canceling one job with him will not hurt me and by doing so I will be doing him a favor. Instead of getting more upset I informed him to cancel my appointment and I disconnected the line. Update - I received another call from Allied saying he was a supervisor and I tell him my situation and he confirmed with me that Max was not the owner and he did apologize to me and understood why I was upset. I have asked to be contacted by owner of company directly and then only then.. will see if I can give this company another opportunity or not. MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:Mr. and Mrs. Saldana, I am sorry for the delay in contacting you because I wanted to gather the facts and properly investigate this issue. I have contacted the secretary that set the appointment, I met with Max Zapata the salesman who was suppose to meet you and even talked to the personal at our office who may have had any knowledge of this incident. The fault clearly lies with our salesman Max Zapata who not only misrepresented himself but could not make his appointment on time. What I feel made matters worse was the way that you say he communicated with you over the phone. That is what I found totally unacceptable, I'm reviewing a proper reprimand for Max Zapata. I want it to be severe enough that it does not happen again. Mr. Saldana I would like another opportunity to make things right and will personally see to it that you get the service that you deserve. Sincerely,Richard PachecoCEO/President of Allied Foundation Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9696133, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform the action of proper reprimand and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. I will also liked to inform you I have used Angie's List Concierge Service to find other foundation repair companies which I have chosen one already and will no loner need you services. I have made 3 calls attempts to your business at the number you left me on voice mail but was not able to find you at your office because you were away. Regards,Rafael Saldana

Provider arrived on time with a large crew of workers. They dug holes at the sides and back of the garage and installed piles. The piles were jacked into the ground with hydraulic jacks and the garage was raised about 2-3 inches and leveled. In the course of the digging operation one of the workers digging a hole accidently cut a cable for the sprinkler system. The workers filled in the holes and completed the operation in a couple of hours. This digging operation is a messy operation and I give them a B for the way they left the areas they disturbed. When we tested the sprinkler, it did not work. I am very familiar with the system and described to the foreman what I thought might have happened. One of the workers remembered hitting the cable and cutting it. The workers dug it up, helped me splice it and all was well. I thought they did a good job. I am only giving them a B for quality and overall because of the cable incident. I would definitely use this contractor again.
Description of Work: Provider stabilized the foundation for our two-car garage. They did exactly what the sales repr said they would do.

The salesman said that this area required the 12 inch long cylinders to be driven 8 to 15 feet down (stacked on one another) to properly support the house. All of the other bidders had said about 20 feet. However, I felt that even if Allied stopped at 8 feet, that would be sufficient to keep the slab level for as long as we might occupy the house, and they were the low bidder. Luckily, I was home to observe their work. A large crew (at least 12 men) arrived as scheduled and began digging holes as marked on a schematic of the house. Then one man with a small driving machine began driving cylinders into the soil. While I was watching, I never saw him drive more than 2. Then they placed 1 or 2 twelve inch blocks on the cylinders, and then 2 more cylinders, side by side, on the top block, against the foundation. The cylinders and blocks were all a maximum of 12 inches in height. This means that Allied drove the cylinder columns a maximum of 5 feet beneath the slab. Based on the speed that the cylinder driver moved around the house, I am certain that he drove only one cylinder in most of the holes. This means that instead of providing foundation support 8 to 15 feet beneath the slab, the support only extended a maximum of 5 feet, and in most cases it was 4 feet or possibly less. Also, our bedroom in the back corner was most in need of raising (you can easily see the tilt of the dresser against the wall). I requested 3 times that they make more effort to level it, but they refused with the excuse that they were afraid they would break the sewer line. In the garage, they jackhammered 2 holes in the concrete. I was just able to get some plastic sheeting over the washer and dryer and some stored furniture. Everything else received a nice coating of concrete dust. Shrubs near the house were dug up by cutting the roots 3-4 inches from the base and died immediately. I need to call a trustworthy company to see if they can redo the bedroom, which will probably cost as much as Allied charged for the whole house. And by the way, Allied had an "A" rating on Angie's list.
Description of Work: The concrete slab foundation of our house was cracked and out of level due to soil changes, etc., a common problem in this area. Allied's job was to level the slab and provide support underneath with concrete cylinders and blocks driven into the soil.

Our house (build in 1976) was in pretty bad shape. We bought the house 4 years ago and were told that foundation work was previously done by another company and it was insured...wrong. We have a 2600 square foot (one story) house and there was 2 inch gap in the rear of the house and 1 !/2 inch gap in the front. We had to have 41 piers installed around the entire house...a pier every 2-3 feet. The entire cost of this work (with the Angie's List coupon) was about 7000, that include a lifetime transferable warranty. Th crew was very professional and competed the extensive work in 1 day. I gave them a B for professionalism because the crew did leave trash in my yard. Also, I asked the foreman if I needed to remove pictures from the wall and I was told that it would be no problem at all. However, a picture with a glass frame fell from the top of my wall when they were using the hydrolic jacks, and shatter all over my living room. Luckily my girls and I were in a different room, but it could have been very dangerous had we been near the breaking glass. Overall, it was a good experience. I would use them again and recommend them to a friend without hesitation.

Even though it is hard to have a good experience while repairing a foundation, I was extremely pleased with Allied. The entire process was clearly explained starting with my initial consultation all the way through the final clean up. My foundation was in pretty bad shape ? there was almost a 4inch decline from wall to wall in my den ? which is about 14 feet across. The process took 5 days to complete mainly because they had to tunnel 80ft under the house to install the interior piers and also to install new plumbing lines. They showed up on time on day one and immediately began working. It was very loud and dirty, as to be expected. The foreman, Nelson, was very professional and I had complete confidence in him. Day one was all excavation and they finished around 7pm. Day two they began installing the piers and that continued through day three. Days four and five were spent repairing the plumbing, backfilling the tunnels and then pumping mud under the house to ensure there was no gap between the earth and the newly raised foundation. On day four, they stayed until 9:30 pm to make sure that all of the plumbing was properly connected and functioning ? they had arrived at 8am that morning. They showed up on time on day 5 to finish things up. The cleanup process was remarkable. While there are visible signs that the landscaping and lawn were disturbed, it is nothing that a few new plants and several good waterings cannot fix. The one unfortunate thing is that they had to bust through several spots on my front porch to install piers and I have to get a contractor to do the brick work. I am very pleased with Allied and the results of their work.
Description of Work: Allied repaired my cracked foundation with 29 exterior piers and 14 interiors piers. They also replaced the deteriorating pipes under my house.
