I called, got and estimate and made an appointment. Two gentlemen, Ben & Jose, showed up precisely on time, looked the job over, confirmed the estimate and went right to work. Very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and CLEAN. They installed the TV on the wall, wired and ran the cable from the attic through two walls. Fished another wall, wired and installed a new outlet in another room. They then repaired several can lights. When they finished they vacuumed up all areas and hauled off all the reside. If you're like me you had some absolutely horrible experiences with people working in you home but these two guys were great. I would recommend them highly and without reservation.
Description of Work: We wanted a TV wired and mounted on an upstairs wall. We also had some lights not working and wanted a new outlet wired and installed in another room.

Yesterday morning one of our breakers tripped and stayed down, leaving a part of our home in the dark - kitchen, dining room, etc. I called Zubras late in the afternoon and I got a very helpful rep trying to locate an electrician in our area on the spot. As none was available we agreed in a 9 AM visit for the following day. Electricians showed-up on time, were very friendly and professional. Quickly isolated the problem to an exposed wire at one of the light switches. They corrected the problem, also checked some overheating can lights and provided good advice and explanation during the whole visit. There was one small misunderstanding as over the phone we were quoted a lower rate then the elctricians were initially charging, but it only took me one question about it and they modified the rate to the lower quoted rate on the spot - apparently I was quoted the single electrician rate and two came to check the problem ... In overall, the service was excellent and we will definitely use Zubras again.
Description of Work: Breaker went down leaving part of the hpuse in dark. Problem was quickly isolated to an exposed wire at one of the light switches and corrected. Check overheating can ligh for installation/wiring problems. Light fixture will have to be replaced as it seems to be defective.

Our experience was excellent. From the first phone call, Zubras spent time explaining the process and what we needed to do, as well as answering all of our questions. They came out to our house quickly and on time, and finished the job in a quick and efficient manner. The two electricians were very polite, clean and professional. After the work was done, they also cleaned up any messes caused by the work in replacing the lighting. And, the pricing was affordable and even less than I had initially expected. We'll definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: Zubras replaced 13 flushmount lights in our house, replaced under-the-cabinet light fixtures, and ran wire for new light fixtures in the future.

The estimate was over the phone and the technician was able to come within 2 days. The technician arrived on time and was efficient, clean and helpful. New wall switches were needed and he had them on his truck. One of the fans had a missing bolt and he also had a replacement bolt. He offered to go to the hardware store if needed but because he had the part the job was quick and easy.
Description of Work: Installed 3 ceiling fans with lights in bedrooms with 9' ceilings. The wiring and supports for fans were already in place.

Called at 6pm and Tony arrived about 30 minutes later. Replaced the GFCI and recommended that we put the freezer on a separate circuit, but told us to call back to have it done during regular business hours so we wouldn't be charged OT rates. Did an excellent quick job. I have used Zubras before and they ALWAYS arrive ON TIME!! They have my business for life.
Description of Work: Our GFCI kept tripping after hours. We couldn't use our garage door opener and electricity was out in part of house. The spare freezer in our garge had no power and food was going bad. Replaced the CFGI and came back 2 days later to put freezer on separate circuit.

Arrived promptly. This was the first time they had seen\installed this type of dimmer switch, but they did a great job. Job took longer than expected because we also wanted to have a drop bar added to an existing ceiling fan. Turned out we purchased the wrong size bar and I asked if they'd work on the dimmers while I ran out to get the correct size. I couldn't find correct size after going to 3 stores; so I had them put the fan back up. I was gone over an hour, so the delay was my fault.

I was very impressed and pleased. Zubras was one of two companies I had do an estimate. The first came out, looked around for about 10 minutes, explained how he'd have to rip up the walls to bring in the new circuit and gave me a very high estimate. Zubras came in and spent at least 30 minutes exploring different options and trying to find the best way to install the circuit in the least disruptive way. He finally decided to bring the circuit outside around the base of the house, around to the back, and then straight into the kitchen. His solution was minimally disruptive and the estimate was about $300 less than the other guy. The electrician and his apprentice showed up promptly at the agreed time and went straight to work. They worked non-stop (except for a short lunch break) in 90 degree heat. They were professional and pleasant and kept me informed of their progress. It turned into a two day job (at no extra cost). They completed the work, thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, and plugged in the range to make sure it worked. They also installed the light fixture making sure it was curved exactly the way we wanted. It was something I couldn't do if my life depended on it. A big surprise came at the end of the week. We got a refund check for around $80. It turns out they miscalculated the tax. We would never have known. We're planning an extensive kitchen re-model in the (hopefully) near future and certainly plan on using Zubras again for it or any other electrical needs.
Description of Work: We replaced a built in oven and a cook top with a double oven range. The oven and cook top each took a 30 AMP circuit, but the range needed a new 60 AMP circuit. We also had a track light installed in the hall. It's the kind that comes with straight tracks, but you are supposed to bend the tracks to create a "curvey" light fixture.

The electrical wiring for my pool equipment was a complete mess. Protective conduit was broken, the boxes that housed the timers and cutoff switches were loose and moved about freely, the box containing the GFI and connections was packed to overflowing with wires. While inspecting the sloppy mess it actually shorted out. Allen set about sorting the mess out in 95 degree heat. He added a new box to house the GFI and provide working room in the original junction box to get all the wiring properly connected. He replaced broken conduit and substandard cutoff switches with new. He rewired everything from the old junction box up to the timer switches. He identified mis-wirings in the pool timer switches and corrected them. He then made sure that all components were properly locked down and secured. Needless to say the pool switches and motors are back up and running. The finished work looks great and I'm grateful that it's been done right, I could have been zapped when doing weekly pool maintenance the way things were!
Description of Work: My pool timers and pumps had failed, I called Zubras to diagnose the problem and execute repairs.

Unbelievable service! I called around 4:00 pm on 5/18/10 and was told that an electrician would be here the following morning. Ben called to say he was on his way and arrived promptly at 9:30am. He explained what he was going to do and then went right to work. He worked quickly, answered all my questions, and left. Ben was punctual, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. It doesn't get any better than this!
Description of Work: Ben removed 2 electrical outlets on the kitchen backsplash and set junction box in the utility room. He removed a phone jack from the backsplash and set junction box in the utility room.

They were running a little behind from another job, but were very friendly and helpful and installed both fans for us quickly. An existing light in one room had to be removed and they had to cut into the ceiling to center the fan so the blades didn't hit a nearby wall. They didn't charge us any extra for this. We were very happy with the service and will definitely use them again for other electrical projects. We have an older home, built around 1926, so having a good electrician is super important to us. Very satisfied.

Our home was built in the 1920s, and we had several electricians and stereo/audio installation vendors tell us that installing three speakers in a wall and four more in two ceilings as either impossible or likely to be a disaster for our walls. John Ericcson was the project manager who first came out to see what we wanted to do, and he was so creative in approaching the project. He came up with ways to get it done that nobody else had thought of -- and for less than a third of what others had estimated for the job. As scheduled, his office sent two men, Ben and Jose, out to our house to do the work. They arrived promptly and got right to work -- they'd been well-prepared for the job. Despite near certainty that we'd need several holes cut in our living room wall for the project, they were able to install all three wall speakers without any damage to our walls, which will save us a bundle in repair costs. The work was solid and Jose and Ben seemed like a great team. Because our ceiling has finished attic space above it, installation of the ceiling speakers more challenging, since the electricians couldn't easily access the space above them. They ended up running wire from under the house, meaning Jose was in our crawlspace for a long time feeding wires to Ben, but he was a great sport about it, and everything went as planned the first time. So our ceiling, which we also thought would be damaged, is still in great shape. The ceiling fan box installed in another room looks perfect, as does the light installed in our attic. Ben and Jose cleaned up after they left, and the final bill was just what John had estimated for us -- no unpleasant surprises! And the speakers sound fabulous. We are thrilled with the job and how quickly and efficiently their team worked. We'd absolutely hire Zubras again and can't recommend them enough.
Description of Work: Ran speaker wire for 7 in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, between the speakers and our attic and under the house. Changed out light box to ceiling fan box. Replaced a light in our attic that had outdated wiring.

The problem was fixed in less than an hour so it was a flat rate of $90. I believe each additional hour is $45 after that. He answered all my questions and was very professional and customer friendly. He was also very helpful in letting me know of additional services his company was able to do such as install lighting fixtures and recessed lighting. He gave me hints on saving money such as to have the fixture pre- assembled. I will definitely use this co. again
Description of Work: The electrician arrived on time as scheduled. He was pleasant and polite. When I told him of my problem, 2 electrical outlets I wanted fixed, he knew immediately I also had a 3rd. ( Initially,I didn't tell him because I was embarrassed of the shape of the room). I had an outside front outlet and 2 indoor outlets (1 in each bath) that were non functioning. He explained the were all connected and when one goes, they all go. He fixed the problem quickly and provided a new outdoor cover at no additional charge. He explained how in the future when it goes out how to reset the outlets

I got 3 proposals for replacing the breaker panel. Two of them each exceeded $2000. I took Zubras's much lower cost proposal. They did the job promptly and effectively. At the time they came to see the situation and make their proposal, as an afterthought I mentioned that outlet in a bedroom that was not working. They threw in that repair as a favor, without additional cost. For any possible electricity problems in the future, I would plan to go first to Zubras.

They were excellent. They came the same day or the next day after I called them. I was very surprised that the price was so low. It was very fair. There were two of them that came and they were here about an hour. I plan to use them again for some outside lights. It is a good company.

Overall it went well. He arrived promptly and quickly went to work. The ceiling fans and lights were completed in less than 30 minutes, but he could not determine what was wrong with the doorbell. He suggested we put a little sign on the door telling people to hold the bell down. That was not the response I wanted.

The floor company had told us that this work should be done in coordination with their floor installation so the electricians could run the insulated wiring from the wall outlets across the slab, then the sub-floor would be custom cut to form a trench around the wiring. The electricians had to remove a section of slab large enough to accommodate each outlet box (several inches deep) then leave while the floor company laid the hardwood surface around the boxes and screwed the boxes into the top of the floor. The electricians then returned when the flooring was done and installed the inside portions of the outlet boxes and attached the brass plates on the top. The two men who did this work were very cooperative in working with the foreman of the floor crew to achieve a perfect result. They had to drill a small hole under one wall outlet in order to fish out the wiring to connect to, but they did a beautiful job and put the hole so close to the floor that our hardwoods will completely conceal it when they're complete. They arrived on time, returned on schedule and were very courteous and capable. We felt that the work was expensive, but all electrical work seems to be high and we were quoted $350 per outlet up front and we made the choice anyway. We trusted the very favorable reviews in Angie's list and were not disappointed. We would not hesitate to call them again.
