The tankless water heater was throwing a fuse. The Plumber had told me to call an electrician. I looked on Angies List and Zubra had many reports all A's. I called them and they scheduled me for the very next day. ( I am not a electrician so my terminology is probably not correct). The electrician was right on time very polite and very neat. Whomever had originally put in the Tankless Water Heater had put it on the same line (Fuse) with the airconditioner. The electrician moved it to an independent one. When he conducted a test the fuse tripped again. So he tested it and found the wire that was the problem. He had to test every wire. He found a wire that had been been an outside plug around the Barbecue Grill. When we moved in and remodeled we removed the grill. So electrician ended up tracing the wire (plug )to the outside in the ground. Disconnected it and removed the wire. I was thrilled. I was amazed that the cost was only $187. Very professional and willing to take the time and make sure it was fixed. What a wonderful surprise , I didn't think people that committed to doing a job right existed anymore
Description of Work: The tankless water heater had stopped working. I had called a plumber. The plumber said it was not getting any power. That the water heater was fine but it was an electrical problem. I needed to call an electrician find out why the hot water heater was not getting any power and to fix it. . The tankless water heater was using the same fuse as the airconditioner. The electrician thought that probably was the problem. The airconditioner is usually on a line by itself. The electrician moved tankless water heater to a different one. The electrician separated the tankless from the airconditioner. The electrician tested and a fuse blew again. The electrician tested all the wires and found the problem. The previous owner of the house had run a wire wire outside to have a plug in around the Barbecue Grill. . We had removed the Barbecue Grill when we we moved in. The electrician found the problem and fixed it.

The electrician from Zubra was right. There was more wrong with the AC unit than just an incorrect breaker. Once we got the unit fixed by a reputable repair company, they did a good job fixing the wiring and putting in the right size breaker.
Description of Work: Our AC quit the end of July and AHS sent a repairman out who told us the breaker wasn't big enough for the unit. I called AHS and they sent out an electrician who replaced it again with the wrong size breaker. I gave up on any help from AHS and called Zubra Electric on my own because of their good rating on Angies List. Zubra sent out an electrician and he explained that the wiring would have to be changed to accommodate a 60 amp breaker since the wiring was only #10. He felt there was more of a problem with the AC unit than just the breaker and recommended that we have a reputable AC person look at it before replacing the breaker. He said if we ended up needing a new AC unit, that a new breaker might not be needed. I found out the motor on the AC unit needed to be replaced, so after having that done I had Zubra come back out and re do the breaker. They were reasonable and honest.

Walker a/c technician advised to change amperage in electrical panel to 60 amp breaker to stop intermittent shut offs. Called Zubras and they came the same day. The technicians under stood the problem and had the necessary repair parts on the truck. Time spent about three hours and a lot of time in the hot attic.

The technician arrived, listened to what I needed. We discussed some questions that I had and he explained things so that I could make an intelligent decision about a couple of things where there were options. Also, I had wanted multiple GFCIs installed in my kitchen, but he said that if all were on the same circuit, only one is required. (He could have just installed 3 and charged me.) After he understood what I wanted, he went to work and got everything done with calm proficiency. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I thought that I had done a review on them before--I used them last year--but I hadn't. In that case, I was redoing my master bath. The GFCIs were installed at a level that was too far back once the sheetrock was installed. I tried to find something at diy stores and Elliot's hardware to allow me to bring the outlets out (someone told me there was an adapter), but drew a blank. I finally gave out and called Zubras back. They sent someone out at no charge to fix it (they had the adapters needed)! I agonized for too long without giving them a chance to address the problem. Initially (last year), I was hesitant to use them because they don't give estimates. They just quote you their hourly rate. I was leery of getting someone who would inflate the cost by working slowly under those circumstances, but that is not a risk with this company. They are competent, efficient, honest, and respond to customer complaints with a fantastic attitude. It is a pleasure to have them do a job for me! If I could give them an A+, I would.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 outlet with GFCI (kitchen, main bath, guest bath). Swapped out 10 light and fan switches in bathrooms and bedroom. Installed boxes for 2 wall lamps above vanity (main bathroom guest bathroom--I was replacing can lights in a firdown in each bathroom that I removed). Removed light, heat light, and fan in bathroom and installed replacement fan/light combination. I had purchased all of the parts needed for this work.

Ben and another guy from Zubra's came out and quickly diagnosed the problem and took care of it. They even looked at another outlet out by the patio that had given me trouble a couple of times. They were very punctual, neat, and friendly. When I was writing the check for the repair, Ben told me that he had to charge a minium of one man hour (even though there were two of them), but I still had 30 minutes left and asked if there was anything else I wanted him to take care of while he was there. I had a smoke alarm that needed to be replaced and he took care of that for me. He even showed me how they were wired so that I could take care of the rest when I got ready to replace them. He really went above and beyond and that is so rare these days!

Called Zubras on 6/15 after having custom ordered 3 Craftmade ceiling fans from local lighting store. Receptionist transferred me to Robert for estimate. He seemed knowledgeable and efficient. After I described ceiling heights and fans, he estimated it would take ~2-3 hrs ~$150-$200. So, he had his receptionist call back to schedule 6/27 first appointment of the day. On 6/27, the electrician, Ben, courtesy called that they were in route ETA 8:15am-8:20am. At 8:15am, he called again to let me know they were caught in traffic and would be 10 min late. Ben and Adolphus arrived ~8:30am. I showed them the locations and what I wanted done. They spent ~3.5 hrs here completing the jobs. The last 30 min of that was spent trying to minimize 2 of the fans from wobbling so much per my request. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves and left only a little bit of debris, they're guys. I was shocked when Ben said the charge was $200. I thought for sure it was going to be more expensive than that. They were courteous and professional. Not big talkers, just went about their business to do the job.
Description of Work: Had 3 Ceiling Fans w/Light Kits replaced w/new ones: 10', 10', 13.5' height ceilings + change out light bulb tubes in Master closet ceiling: 15' height ceiling.

I was initially very pleased with the punctuality and quality of the service. Everything seemed done 100% correctly and in a very professional manner. However, there were two problems that eventually revealed themselves. 1) they forgot to close the breaker on our AC unit when they were doing the wiring which caused the house to heat up to 95 degrees before we realized what was wrong - just sloppy and careless; and 2) the second garage exterior light that they wired already doesn't work for no apparent reason. Very disappointing.
Description of Work: They helped repair two inspection hits from our home inspection (reverse polarity on a socket in the bathroom and poor wiring of the garbage disposal), they installed two exterior safety lights, and wired outdoor speakers to our home entertainment system.

Two repairmen came and one of them tightened a loose connection in the bathroom and replaced the switch. I had an outlet that sparks when plugging somethingin. It was back stabbed, the repairman corrected it. An outtside light that tripped braker when it rained the repairman checked and I was told to replace the entire fixture to cover an area that had a hole, near the brick. Was told new fixture which covered this hole in the brick would alleviate the problem. Only 1 repairman was doing the work the other was just observing. When they gave me the invoice it was for $137.00. The entire job took under 1 hour. I told him I was quoted $90/hr. He called the office and I spoke to the lady who answered and told her what I was quoted and that the job was just 45 min. She said the repairmen get confused because their are 2 people on the job and it costs more. I told her only one was doing the work and then she confirmed I would receive the $90/hr rate
Description of Work: Called to repair lights in bathroom wouldn't turn on when switch was on and braker on, electrical outlet sparked when plugging something in, and outside light would cause bathroom outlets to turn off when it rains. When I called with problems was told that they would charge $90.00/ hr.

The electricians that came to my home were very professional, efficient, and courteous. They arrived 15 minutes early and got to work. The end price was a little more than the estimate I received, but because of the high quality of work and professionalism of the electricians, I would definitely use this company again.

I contacted Zubras (214.319.6900) on 4/28/11 to move the electrical breaker panel box in my home. Robert gave me a reasonable price quote. As I was needing a Saturday appointment, the appointment to do the work was promptly scheduled for Saturday, 4/30/11. I was extremely pleased, as the appointment worked with my personal schedule. On 4/30/11, electricians Ben & Dean gave me a courtesy call to let me know they would be arriving within 30 mins; and they were on time. Both were professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgable of all questions I asked. Ultimately, after weighing the pros & cons of relocating the electrical breaker panel box, and what works best for me, I decided to just have the box replaced. Since the electricians came prepared with only the relocation style box, without hesitation, Ben went to a local Home Depot and purchased the appropriate electrical panel box & breakers to get the job done. Dean stayed at my home and diligently worked to prepare for the replacement electrical panel box. Not only did they replace the electrical breaker panel box, they ran a dedicated line for the microwave. I am very happy about this, because using the microwave and toaster oven at the same time would trip the existing breaker. They also installed a new light switch in the master bathroom, which wound up being somewhat complicated. I really appreciated the pleasant attitudes and respect these gentlemen maintained in my home, especially when they encountered unexpected challenges during this job. I highly recommend Zubras and will use again. Ben and Dean are experts in their field, dedicated workers, and performed an outstanding job. Many thanks to members for posting ratings and comments on Angies list. It helped make my choice easy and unstressful in the decision to choose Zubras for the work I needed done.
Description of Work: Ben and Dean of Zubras Electric Inc. replaced hazardous electrical panel box and Federal breakers in my home with new electrical panel box and breakers. A dedicated line and outlet for microwave was ran. Also, installed a light switch for master bathroom.

I shopped for prices and they were the most reasonable. They cameout when they said they would , two men, they worked steadily for about 3 1/2 hrs. to replace the box and get the electricity back on. They took a short break and then came back and checked out and labeled all of the breakers. Did an excellent job...they had to move shelving and a workstation in the garage which they did quickly with little fuss. Also had the garage floor cleaned up afterwards. Excellent experience and very reasonable price. I will defintitely be using them for any future electrical needs.
Description of Work: Replaced breaker box in the garage.
This is the 2nd time we have used them, and it continues to be a great relationship. They show up on time, are prepared, have any parts we don't have, work efficiently, and leave the work area clean and orderly. They installed the new items, made suggestions that were even better than we had planned, and did it for a really affordable price. They continue to underpromise and overdeliver! We recommend them highly, and will hire them again.

I had to reschedule on the day they were supposed to come out, and they didn't hassle me or anything--just switched the appointment to the day I wanted. They got to our house a few minutes earlier than our scheduled time and started working on the meter box before I made it home. I was glad that they started even though I wasn't there yet. The two electricians were very polite and didn't seem to mind my small children asking questions. Once they were finished with the meter box, I showed them the porch lights and they went right to work on them. The two jobs only took them 2 hours to complete, and I was pleased with their work.

It was an expensive repair, but I'm relieved the work was done and appreciate the manner in which Ben and his helper worked to complete the job. The total price was $940.56 rather than the $1000.00 estimate.
Description of Work: I called Zubras Electric Co. when I found out that my house had a Federal Pacific Electrical Panel installed in the garage and that it was potentially a fire hazard. I called Zubras because I had used them once before and felt their service was good and their price was fair. I spoke to Tom at Zubras and he gave me an estimate of $1000.00 to replace the panel. On April 5, 2011, Ben and his helper arrived on time just before 9:00 am and told me they were turning the electricity off and it probably would be off for 5 to 6 hours. They worked straight through the time installing the new panel. Once that work was completed, they turned the electricity on and checked every circuit and labled each breaker in the new panel. Since the old panel was physically larger than the new one, Ben used a piece of wood and closed up the open space. Before leaving, they swept and cleaned up the work area, put things back in place, and hauled off the accumulated trash.

I called then on the worst day of the year (coldest day) - remember the day it started snowing? They went to look at an issue in one of my rental property in South Dallas. The issue was that the heater breaker was tripping every 5 minutes. Anyways, they did not charge me extra to go there on the coldest day of the year. Since the issue did not get resolved, they came back the next day to resolve the issue. I was very happy with their service and getting the heat working on the coldest time of the year. Thank you.
