TIP TOP ROOFING

Where to begin?! The first call I made was to Tip Top Roofers as they were the original install company on our roof. In no way was I thinking this was covered under warranty or anything -- it was just the only number handy as we (thankfully) had never needed roofing services before. The gentleman who answered the phone was RUDE and telling me I would get NOTHING for free -- huh? I wasn't asking for anything free. Like I said, they were the handiest number. We had an appt for the roof to be investigated but it was several days out due to the volume of needs after the storm which was fine. I knew our issue was fairly minor compared. Our first appt was a total NO SHOW. When I called back, I was told someone could come by the following day. Fine. I'm a stay at home mom so it is an inconvenience but not a wage loss scenario for me to be home for a repair person. When our investigator did arrive the next day -- NO uniform, NO business card, NO company truck, NO identification of any kind and very, very limited English skills. He scurried up our roof and made me so incredibly scared as it seemed as if this individual was more of a hired day laborer rather than a full time employee. Came down and told me that there was a crack in my vent (I think, again limited English) and that he would relay the information to HQ who would contact me with a full quote. 48 hrs and NO quote from HQ so I call...... and they have NO idea who came to my house -- HELLO!?!?! My theory on the Home Depot day laborer proves true. Neither Tip Top Roofing nor I proceeded to press the repair work any further. I cannot imagine doing business with a company this unprofessional, and cannot recommend this company at all! Besides, when we finally DID have the repair work done it was clear that the flashing was faultily (sp?) installed and given that Tip Top was the builders sub on installing the roof in the first place just further confirms to me that it was a great decision to STEER CLEAR!!!
