Mr. Morey exhibited lazy work and unprofessional behavior. His appraisal was inaccurate on several accounts, and when our agent notified him of this, he refused to answer any questions about our concerns. He in fact gave rude and dismissive answers when corresponding with our agent, which I found to be disrespectful. He used comps that were neither in the same neighborhood, or even the same CITY as our home, and when asked why this was done, he claimed no other home in the neighborhood had been remodeled, which is false. A home just down the street was remodeled and sold very recently, although he ignored this. He used incorrect information to add value to the home, and when he was notified of this, he admitted it, but refused to reassess the value. I do not trust that he gave an accurate or impartial appraisal, since the final appraisal value was way over the price of comps in the neighborhood, and landed exactly at the sales price previously negotiated (conveniently). I guess for now we are stuck with his shoddy work, but if you have another choice, try to avoid this appraiser at all costs!
