Texas Hardwood Flooring

I quoted 4 firms. One I quoted over a year prior, and he did not want to come out to remeasure or confirm an updated price. He was the lowest priced. One quoted an extra 500 square feet. One, which was the highest had a very thorough quote, but when I asked for pictures of engineered wood floors he had redone, he suddenly lost my contact info. The Floorman (Bryan Robideau) was priced in the middle and actually took me to see a house where he had redone their engineered wood floors and I spoke with the homeowner, who was very happy with his work. I really cannot say enough good about Bryan and The Floorman.

My wife contacted The Floorman who returned our call very promptly. Mr. Brian Ribdoux came out and provided an estimate for the work which we decided to run with. We were working with a second contractor to have the rest of our floors floated and then have the concrete stained. Brian and our other contractor worked out a schedule so as not to interfere or cause issues with the others finished product. After they applied the stain to the floor they came back for the sealer and noticed some imperfections on the floor which they promptly corrected. This set them back one day but I was pleased that they corrected the issue. Conclusion.....This is an A-1 company to do business with. If I ever need hardwood floor work done again I will definitely contact them for the work. Thank you

I was very pleased with Jesse and his responsiveness, his willingness to answer my questions, and his quick return of phone calls and messages. His team completed their work in the time they told me, and they did a great job. They put down various stains on the actual floor (instead of having small samples to look at) so I could choose my shade of stain by seeing how it would actually look on the floor. I have a large house and they worked very hard to have it done on time. It looks great. My only quibble was that they made a little bit of a mess with the sanding and some of the residue was on my kitchen countertops, but it cleaned up easily. I'll definitely recommend them.

Jesse was very prompt in getting an appointment setup to give us an estimate. He and his team were able to work us in, in just a few days. The team was very courteous. They moved furniture and took up the old carpet. Completed the install in two days. They cleaned up after themselves very well. Very prompt, good value and would use them again!!

These guys came to my rescue when our original installer notified us at the last minute that he was 1 1/2 weeks behind schedule - normally not a problem, but this was part of a larger project and everything hinged on getting the floors in on time. Jesse responded to my call in less than an hour and had someone in my house to give me a quote within another hour. They were able to squeeze my job in, finished on time, did great work, and did a good clean up afterwards. The crew was punctual and professional. I was able to keep my entire project on schedule because of them. I would definitely use them again. In fact, I liked them so much that I paid to join Angie's list so that I could write a review.

We were in search of a flooring company as the company that we had dealt with for 20 years went out of business. We found The Floorman on Angie's List and we liked his rating along with the A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. We called Jesse and explained what we needed; he was very courteous and professional as he listened to our needs. He had Bryan Robidoux come to our home to gather all of the information and provide us with a quote. We received the quote which was professionally presented breaking down all of the costs. They also honored an Angie's List member discount which was a huge plus. We scheduled the installation for March 7th, 2014; Bryan called in advance to confirm the installation and his crew showed up the morning of March 7th. It was a three man crew that never stopped working until they were done. We were pleasantly surprised as to the neatness of the crew. You never know what to expect from your first experience with a contractor and his crew, however this crew was neat, accommodating and strictly business. They fixed many of the imperfections in the subfloor prior to installing the hardwood floor. They matched the installation pattern of an existing hardwood floor which eliminated the need for a threshold transition strip. They installed shoe molding and caulked between the molding and baseboards. Overall we were very pleased with Jesse, Bryan and the crew. We will now use The Floorman for all our flooring needs. We are loyal to those who do right by us. We established a long term relationship with our previous flooring company and we will maintain a long-term relationship with The Floorman.

The sun-bleached parquet flooring had to be sanded and stained to match the rest of the entire large area floor. It was a perfect match, very well executed with very little mess. Jesse also refinished a large sculpture base, removing all the scratches and dings, bringing it back to "new". When we found a piece of unfinished parquet flooring and I wanted to use it in the utility room area where the washing machine had been, Jesse and his crew hand-milled the parquet tiles to match the pattern in the utility room. Again, it was very well done. Jesse juggles a lot of projects, works weekends, and makes sure jobs are complete as promised. I would use him again in a minute!

Bryan Robidoux helped put my mind at ease with the details of the whole process of removing my flooring, moving furniture, installing the new floor and clean up. The whole process went smoothly, quick and clean. I highly recommend him and his crew again and to all my friends. Since I have had the floors installed my friends can't stop admiring them. This was our fourth time to deal with Bryan Robidoux - The Floorman. Over the past four years my husband and I have replaced carpet with hardwood floor in four phases. Phase 1 was the stairs. Phase 2 was the living room, dining room, and front parlor. (also at this time we had our fireplace redesigned and had tile extended into two walk-in closets) Phase 3 was the downstairs master bedroom. We saved the upstairs (the most massive) for Phase 4 knowing it would be the most expensive and the most work. Bryan has been a joy to work with. He is very understanding with budgets and financial boundaries that we all face. He was ready to answer our questions and to make suggestions to help us formulate our design ideas. Bryan returned our phone calls promptly when we left messages. My husband and I are relatively new to the DFW area so we feel very blessed to have found Bryan Robidoux to do the hardwood floor project in our home. This project has not only added value to our home for future resale but also gives my family a beautiful home with which we can take pride in ownership. We have no more floor projects for Bryan, but we will certainly call upon him as a friend for referrals for other projects that we have planned for the future. We have done business with The Floorman on multiple occasions and I have always found them knowledgeable, to be trustworthy and willing to be flexible. They have always done what they promise, and if there were any issues, they were addressed quickly. I've spoken with Jesse Deanda, the owner a few times and he is very focused on doing quality work and customer satisfaction. I would recommend using this company to anyone.

The good - after a snafu with our original product purchase, Brian (the owner) connected us with his supplier and we were able to save some money on the materials. We really liked the personality of the crew. The bad - The crew leader was recently back from vacation and he took a lot of breaks, causing the project to last 2 days longer than necessary. Toward the end of the project the two man crew were cutting corners, the worse of which would not be obvious for a few months. The ugly - our laminate flooring started to buckle and bow. My research showed this was most likely due to improper installation (lack of proper expansion gap and nailing quarter round into floor vs wall. After several attempts to reach Brian, he finally returned my call and came to look at the floors. He claimed the problem was because we hadn't been running our AC unit and the humid air was causing the issue. While this is a contributor, the initial problem was the improper installation. The other laminates in our house were not reacting this way. The first laminates we had installed did the same thing. The first company came to repair and it was find for 5 years. Brian said the crew no longer worked for him and to fix it he would have to charge us. I had no intention of paying twice for something plus he never sent an estimate for the repairs. The result - I educated myself and did the work myself. It took several weeks of having my floors torn up while I carefully did the repair. I did not find this company on Angie's List, but I am glad to see it here so I could review. I plan to submit a report to the Better Business Bureau also.

Wow! Brian and the entire team at The Floorman couldn't have been more wonderful to work with. We bought a house right before Christmas with existing hand scraped floors in main areas but worn carpet in the master, on both staircases, the dining room and gameroom upstairs. We wanted hand scraped floors to replace all the carpet. The catch was that it had to match the existing floors that were done almost 6 years ago. We were also in a hurry to move in. No pressure! From the minute we signed the contract, the team came in and started the difficult job. They worked very hard every day and the final result is AMAZING! My husband and I can't stop talking about what a great experience it was. The floors are unbelievably beautiful. We can't even tell where the old floors meet the new ones and the stairs look like they were built that way! If you need a great, trustworthy team, this is the company to call. The job went beautifully. Bryan Robidoux was prompt when arriving to provide estimate and very straightforward about work that needed to be done and the cost and difficulty of same. His crew was friendly and professional, and most importantly always arrived when promised and completed the work in a timely manner. Bryan responded quickly when we had questions and concerns, overall we had a very positive experience with everyone involved. The floors turned out great, particularly the transition between the existing floor and the new one- No one would know they were installed 11 years apart if we didn't tell them.

The salesperson (Bryan Robidoux) spent plenty of time with us ensuring we got what we needed, even going to the showroom with us to help us make decisions about materials. The work crew was phenomenal, very kind and hardworking. They worked late hours every night to get the job done quickly (I actually worried about them working so many evenings away from their families!). They spent lots of time on their hands and knees polishing and checking every inch of the wood. After the job was completed and paid, they came quickly 3-4 times to make minor fixes as I found them. The only challenge we had was the pedestal sink in the guest bath was installed crooked (b/c is was installed on top of the tile instead of cutting the tile around it), making water pool in the corners every time someone washes their hands, and all three of the toilets leaked after re-install. But the contract clearly says they do not do plumbing work, and the leaks were easily repaired with new parts. In all, we had a very positive experience with this company and will definitely use them again for any future flooring needs.

Everything went fine with this company. The customer service I thought was pretty good. After they were finished with the job they cleaned up after themselves nicely. They were on time to the job as well. They were very responsive to my initial call and were able to come out quickly. I would use this company again.

I think there are a lot of established businesses that are hiring young inexperienced men and turning them loose to give estimates and supervise sub contractors, which they aren't doing. The installer either didn't use enough glue or allowed the glue to dry before laying the wood planks. The wood planks are bowed and not glued to the floor in many areas. One spot squeaks like a rubber shoe when you walk on it. I saw him beating on the planks with a mallot. I don't think he knew how to lay bamboo flooring and pounded it in like a traditional wood plank which put too much pressure on the thin flexible bamboo and caused it to pop up and not stick to the floor. I have installed bamboo flooring my self and used the exact same glue and planks. Brian refused to fix the floors and said it was popping up because I bought inferior products. The $100 drums of glue was cheap and couldn't be used to glue down floors. He never checked the progress of the installer and called after the installer left for the rest of his money without ever asking if the job was OK or even looking at it. He was angry I complained and only did what he had to do to get paid. I was left to put in thresholds, toilets, clean and wipe glue off walls and try to get the floor to stop squeaking. DO NOT use this company.

He was a real nice middle-aged young man. He was very polite and not pushy at all. I was on a conference call at the time he was measuring; so he made sure that he was very quiet. He had some questions at the end, and I didn’t mind them because I wanted to make sure that if he had any questions they were answered. I told him that if I had any questions, I would call him. He was a very nice person. I would absolutely consider using his services again in the future.

The removal of existing tile is never an easy process; however, the Floorman did everything they could to help minimize the dust. I have a child with asthema and the contractors made sure to cover vents and they tried to keep the dust under control. Jesse was an excellent salesperson and not pushy at all. He was prompt and followed through with every commitment. He stayed close with his contractors and visited the work site every day. He also helped me with my decision in color choices and ceramic layout. He was honest with me if he didn't think my choice would work. We are extremely happy with the final product. The house looks beautiful and I have referred The Floorman to many friends.

They replaced 80% of all of our wood floors, matched the wood to the 20%, upgraded the floor finish to a distressed wood finish, and helped us pick a deep rich color that really adds to the look of the house. The look is really, Wow! They were careful to minimize the dust and cleaned each day before they went home. We are very happy and would recommend them to others.

The sales person was prompt and courteous, and the work crew was the same. The job was finished in the time given, with minimal disruption to the household. I love the finished product!

The Floorman was a great choice from the very start. The salesman showed up for the appointment on time and was well dressed in a company shirt. He took his time explaining the whold process and different options so that we could make the right choice. The one thing I noticed was that he was not pushy and acting like he just wanted to get my money and go. We ended up talking for about an hour and really got to know him. He told me that he would send an E-mail in a couple of hours with a detailed bid. When I got the bid I was very impressed. It was very detailed outlining everything that we talked about. i called him back the next day and scheduled another appointment that he was again on time for. I felt extremely comfortable giving him the deposit ck and knowing that they would show up on the installation date. The crew arrived at 8am and were very nice. They got to work real quick taking the old carpet out and carefully removing my base boards. The crew was very friendly and very careful with all of my belongings. At the end of the day my new floors were installed. The crew returned 10 days later (the wood had to acclimate) to finish up the whole process. They scraped the wood flooring and took alot of time mixing stain until we got it perfect. The returned the next three days and put the finish coats on the wood. From the very first appointment to the end of the job I have absolutely nothing but wonderful things to say about the Floorman. I have refered them to a couple family members and they have been equally impressed. I truly think that you would be very hard pressed to find a better company to deal with. From the very beginning you can see what sets them apart from the rest. Six out of five stars for this company!!!!!!!!!!!

I was not worried throughout the process at all. The floors turned out better than I imagined! It has improved the value of my home, and is truly the best decision I made for my house. I love my floors everyday!!

Went well. Work took several weeks and was a pain from that standpoint, but workers were professional and I am pleased with the flooring and handrails. It really spruced up the house.
