I initially called Texas Air Zone to do an annual inspection of my air conditioning system since it hadn't been done in awhile. Mark was on time and very professional. He replaced freon in both units and described in detail some additional work he recommended be done on the systems. He did not try to over sell me and even suggested what could wait until the future when I replaced the units. In addition, he spent time to explain how my system worked and what could make it perform more efficiently. I then called to have Mark do some of the recommended repairs the following week. He again was on time and professional in performing the work. Three weeks later, one of my units would not shut off when it reached the set temperature, so I had to turn it off altogether. I called Monday morning and Mike was there that afternoon. He spent two hours in the attic figuring out the problem and came up with a solution that saved me having to buy a new motor. What most impressed me was that he did not charge me for the call since I had just had diagnostics done a few weeks earlier. He again spent the time to explain the problem, solution and ways to keep my system running properly. I am always skeptical when working with service companies like this because they seem to want to upsell rather be honest about the problem and figure out the most cost effective solution. I can't say enough good things about the service I've received from Texas Air Zone. I will use them for my annual maintenance and they will be the company I call when it comes time to replace my HVAC system.
Description of Work: Initial visit was to do an annual inspection and cleaning of my A/C system. The followup visits were to make some of the recommended repairs and to fix a damper that would not open and close properly.

This morning I had a problem with water leaking from my return air vent located in the ceiling. The sheetrock near the vent had become soggy and started to sag. I called Texas Air Zone, explained my situation and even though they were booked solid they promised someone would come to my rescue sometime today. Very shortly after I received a call from their dispatch person (who was so kind and courteous by the way). Greg came promptly and diagnosed my problem and started to work. He explained each step as he made progress and within an hour had resolved my problem including correcting work done by a previous company. I am very impressed with these folks and appreciate their professionalism and can do attitude. They will be the first people I call in the future. Thank you Greg and Texas Air Zone!!!
Description of Work: Fixed a major leak in the furnace because of a malfunctioning overflow pan. cleaned the pan Installed some new pipe and parts including a turn off valve to facilitate resolution of issues with the pan in the future.

These guys are just awesome! My regular HVAC maintenance company recommeded that I: 1. Replace the capacitors 2. Clean the foil on the condenser units outside 3. Fill gas for now ($80/lb) or replace the coil upstairs, he concluded a leak without opening it up 4. Or replace the whole unit, inside and outside Overall I had a quote between $2500 to $4000 So I called two more companies. One company which airs frequent ads on TV gave me a hire quote to replace the whole unit. Next came Issac from Texas AirZone who meticulously went through my whole HVAC unit. Infact he came back a second day when it was hotter so he could correctly calculate gas levels. He suggested I don't replace anything right now as these components can either fail the next day or go on working for months. And considering the cost he suggested wait. Besides he mentioned their company and a lot of other companies do have same day service. Besides I already have another working HVAC unit for the upstairs. So he filled up recovery gas (which they can't sell) and gave my unit a breath of fresh air (for now). It's been a month since, the unit is loud but its working fine so far. And I haven't spent thousands, yet. And all this service for FREE. I even offered if I can pay for some service and he came twice. You know I am going to call their company if anything happens with my HVAC units.
Description of Work: Filled recovery gas, checked capacitors and heating and cooling units, provided consultation on repairs and new installation

These guys are exceptional. Isaac is a one-of-a-kind. He took personal ownership in making sure i was satisfied. He PERSONALLY came out to make a couple of adjustments after the installation was in place for a few weeks. The replacement was somewhat complex because of small space issues but they did the impossible. It is rare to find a company that will care for its customers the way Texas Air Zone does. I highly recommend them.

Purchased a Big Deal coupon for a service call because a prior company had told us that there was a leak in the system, the refrigerant smelled burnt, and we were 3 pounds low on refrigerant. Texas Airzone inspected the unit and found we were low on refrigerant, but found no leaks and did not detect any burnt refrigerant smell. After charging system with refrigerant, system working well.

Greg arrived at our home early and performed a thorough inspection on both units. He then gave us lots of very useful information about the efficiency of our systems and potential issues we might have to tackle down the road. Lastly he gave us good recommendations on reworking the duct work for our home when we eventually have to replace one or both A/C systems. All-in-all Greg did a great job and we highly recommend him and Texas Air Zone.

Dispatch called me to let me know their tech had finished their previous job earlier I told them I could be there in 45 mins and the tech arrived within 5 mins of my estimated time. He made quick work to diagnose the issue. Explained the problem and I gave him the ok to begin work. He made quick work of the repair, as well. Performed some QC checks to ensure all was good and gave it a green light. Additionally, he pointed out some areas I could gain some cooling efficiencies, be it cleaning the coils or taping the gaps in the indoor air handling units to reduce hot attic air. All in all, great experience and will continue to use them over my previous provider, which was good, they just got too expensive.

To review Texas Air Zone and their service I have to first provide some background and explain what other company did before them. On two separate occasions within 2 week period I had different company called "All-Systems Air Conditioning & Heating" from Allen come and "fix" the issue in December of 2014. Gas furnace was not starting, and issue was intermittent. After they replaced limit switches, igniter, and some other stuff, and in over $500 in charges, they told me that my system was too old, and that I needed a new systems. I then called Texas Air Zone to give me an estimate, and one other company. Isac from Texas Air Zone first questioned me why I wanted to replace system, and I described the situation to him. He offered to take a look himself, which I declined, as I did not want to waste any more money on the system, I gave him the address, and asked him to come by and take a look and give me only an estimate. He came out, on 12/31/2014, spent 1.5 hours trouble shooting the system. After that he called me and told me that I do not need new system, and that he had fixed the issue. On top of it he said that he will not charge me anything, as he only needed to reduce the gas pressure. Namely, gas was coming into furnace under to much pressure, generating too much heat, which in turn would trip limit switches, and system would not start on the next cycle. To receive such a service, in today's economy, where bottom line is all anybody cares about is beyond belief. I recommend this company to everybody, and they will have me as a client in future for all my A/C work.

Working with Texas Air Zone was extremely easy from start to finish. Scheduling staff was courteous, professional and accommodating. Mark Stevenson was prompt, efficient, and extremely thorough while on site to check the unit. He gave our compressor the best cleaning we had ever receiving since purchasing it 7 years ago. He took the time to explain needed repairs and recommendations going forward. He was very sincere, knowledgeable, and did not hard-sell us at any time during the appointment. Texas Air Zone will be our one and only HVAC servicer going forward, and for that reason we also purchased a maintenance agreement that was very reasonable. We will feel very comfortable having them do system upgrades when the time comes.

Actually the heat was not working, but was not in a huge hurry to get fixed. I figured it was the thermocouple, which would be a small matter to repair with the inspection. Turns out the thermocouple needed some physical adjustment to be closer to pilot light - and the house became warmer than the 50 degree mark. And there was no additionl repaor fee for the minor adjustment. Service guy was right on time - I was a few minutes late. Very professional - gave me some tips (and I did buy a carbon monoxide alarm) and did not try to upsell additional services or repairs. Very good deal - and much less expensive than an emergency call. I will call next time I need something done in heating/AC.

We had a HVAC from about 1998 that came with the house when we bought it. It was an undersized condenser and the lowest grade model for a furnace. Pluse we had the original metal duct work from 1970 that had some gaps in it and lots of builup of yuck in them. Chris came out and took a look at our system and gave us three options to think about and provided very honest feedback on which one he recommended based on our family and house situation. He explained the pros and cons of each and what would be best for us and it actually turned out to be the cheapest of the three systems! He really cared about us and our needs and not making an extra buck. His team did an awesome job on the install and were so clean to keep all the attic insulation debris as cleaned up as possible. It was very impressive to watch! We also moved all our output ducting to the attic so now we don't have to deal with the crawl space musty smell that seemed to always be in the house. I asked about removing the old ducts in the wall and Chris had another gentleman come out to do some drywall repair on the wall vents we didn't need anymore and it looked great too. Our outside condenser was also moved to the side of the house. It used to be in the back yard and in plan view of the dining room so definitely an eyesore I was excited to have moved. We have great airflow and a comfortable house now! Chris even came back to tweak the air flow in rooms and balance things since my youngest room was warmer than the rest at first. We will always be using Texas Air Zone in the future for our heating and cooling need and you should too!

Last Friday I met Chris Roebuck to discuss installing a new HVAC. As I write this one week later, I sit in my toasty warm house and breathe much more easily than I have in years. I approached four A/C and heating companies with a request for quote. Three were on Angie's List; all of those were "Angie's List Super Service Award Winners" (with the little green circle and yellow star), and all had at least 100 positive reviews. All had an overall grade of "A." Chris responded to my request for quote along with three other companies. He set up a meeting, arrived a little early (but was waiting in his truck until I came outside and waved at him). Rather than going into a sales spiel, he sat with me and just got me talking about what I'd really like in comfort in my home - like what temperature I kept it, and so on. I had done quite a bit of research on new HVAC systems, but I learned a lot from him not only about them, but about my own system. He looked at the system a couple of times, looked at the ductwork in the attic, looked at the vents on the roof, and told me when I could expect a quote. Chris is professional, personable, humble, positive (he doesn't disparage competitors), very, very knowledgeable about every component of an HVAC, and MOST of all, he listens and responds based on what he's figured out about you. He really made me feel as if he was more concerned about my health and safety than he was about the sale, and they can't teach that in sales classes. I am an older single woman, and have a long-standing anxiety about dealing with contractors. I know how it's done, it just gets old to feel like you always have to be on your guard. Chris treated me with the utmost respect and never talked down to me. I saw him last Friday, and Monday morning he had my proposal to me: a 17-page long document complete with four options. Included in the proposal were very specific details about each system or component proposed, as well as a detailed scope of work, so I knew very explicitly what I would be getting. All other details such as payment methods available were also included. As a consultant myself, I appreciated how thorough his proposal was. NONE of the other companies I invited to bid provided this level of detail or professionalism, and it really spoke to me about how Texas Air Zone values their customers. I reviewed and considered all of the proposals, spoke with my brother and a friend who both agreed with my decision, and on Wednesday asked Chris how soon they could install. He scheduled the install for today (two days later), which was the day I requested. Pablo is Part II of the incredible customer service that Texas Air Zone offers. If you have a teenager with a work ethic problem, have them spend a day with Pablo. He manages the installation team and takes care of a thousand details from beginning to end, overseeing and pitching in himself. They arrived at 9 a.m. this morning. I explained to Pablo that I have five dogs and would need to move them as they needed access to different rooms, and that I had two teleconferences during the installation. He was very easygoing about this. Considering the amount of work they did throughout my house, they worked extremely quietly. Everything went smoothly, my 53-year-old scary mechanical closet now has a gorgeous new heater and pipes, the exposed new plyboard flooring is all painted, and the wiring on my impressive new condenser outside is attractively concealed in metal tubing, rather than the crazy mess of wires going everywhere that it used to be. BEST OF ALL: I have chronic allergy and sinus problems and have had them pretty much since I moved to this house 17 years ago. Already now, with the furnace having run less than two hours, I can breathe more easily. I don't know that everyone would have such dramatic results, but I cannot adequately express how happy I am about this. Although I knew I just needed to replace the old system, I was also hoping that doing so might help me feel better. Now, I honestly feel that my energy levels may even rise as a result. VERY glad I went with Texas Air Zone - it was a great experience from start to finish an an EXCELLENT value. Angie's List is really helping me get over my terrifying fear of contractors.
Description of Work: Replaced a 53-year-old (original equipment) furnace and 22-year-old A/C with a Trane XV80 (and the coil) and XR16 (3 ton). Replaced the concrete pad and installed a new electrical disconnect (required, I think, by Code Compliance). Enlarged two vents and their supply ductwork, and replaced all the vents (or what I call vents; I think they're called supply registers) in the house. Replaced the pipe that vents to the roof. Replaced almost all of the other items in the closet where the main unit is kept. Installed a new Honeywell 6000 thermostat and a new Aprilaire filter (which only needs to be changed once a year, although since I have five dogs I will probably do that every six months). My home is 1,300 SF in area.

Fantastic job!! Very professional and efficient! We were so pleased to find a company that made everything go smoothly from the estimate to the installation. This is my mom's home so it was important to us to find a company that really cared about it's customers and would do the best job for her. The crew was amazing!! Things like this can be stressful, but with Texas Air Zone it wasn't at all! We feel very blessed to have found them on Angie's List and will recommend them anytime this type of work is needed. :) Sharon Mc

Meet with Issac to discuss replacing our system. I had met with several companies and narrowed it down to Texas Air Zone and another. Issac was very thorough in discussing everything and answered all of my questions about their company, scope of work, equipment and everything. I was given several equipment options and once I decided on the option I was interested in I went back with both companies to confirm details and pricing. I met with Issac again and he went over everything with me and they also agreed to help me address an insulation issue I had in the attic that was the result of remodeling we had over the summer at no additional charge. We scheduled the installation and on the installation day Issac was there bright and early to inspect the equipment and over see the start. Pablo was in charge of the crew and was also one of the reasons for my decision. Pablo and the crew performed as Issac said and as to what I had read in the reviews. They were very efficient and took great care inside and outside my house. They were done removing the old system, duct work and installing the new by 5 pm that day. Issac was back the next day to confirm system settings and take measurements at all the ducts. Everything was operating as designed and we discussed his coming back in the future should we need to adjust air flow to different areas of the house. I had Issac back the first part of January to get more air flow to east side of our house. We have made the adjustments and it has been an improvement. Everything in this process has been very professional and thorough. We are very pleased with the Carrier system, ductwork design and installation.
