+ -1 moreI spent a lot of time on their website, which is very good, and also called them up and told them what I needed and they recommended several options, spelling out pro's and cons of each. I settled on the Gumbo Buster, set a delivery date, they took my payment information, and then they showed up the day we agreed on the dropped off the product. Went well!
Description of Work: I've bought compost from Soil Building Systems several times in the past, most recently in January 2010. The specific product I've bought from them is their "Gumbo Buster", which is used to amend exisitng soil here in Dallas. I've picked it up before from their place using a truck and also had them deliver it to my home. The Gumbo Buster has done well and vastly improved my soil. You have to till it in and that's some work, but after that's done, you're ready to go. When they deliver it, they show up in a large dump truck and I had them dump it on my driveway. The product looks rich with organic matter and expanded shale. After doing some research on what to do in the Dallas area to improve the soil for planting, expanded shale and fully composted organic matter are what you need, and their Gumbo Buster is designed to provide exactly this. Plus it's a formula from Texas A&M. I've been very happy with their product and would use them again.

Bulk delivery or pick-up at our facility. Bagged materials available for pick-up, and we load your car for you. We also sell seasoned firewood and will load it in your vehicle.
We do not install the landscape materials. We are a wholesaler that delivers to you, so we dump the material and you take it from there. We do not bag our materials in advance - we bag just in time so the material is fresh and doesn't remain in the harmful bag for too long.
