I have used this provider twice in my moves. The first time, they were great. I gave them the freedom to place things where they made the most sense. I had their service for the whole day and came home happy to see all of the boxes unpacked and they walked me through the house and showed me where everything was. My second move, I made sure to invite them to the house to see how I had things arranged and then trusted them to get everything into the new house in a similar arrangement but given that we were downsizing, I realized that not everything would fit and they would need to leave items in the garage. The team was supposed to completely unpack all of the boxes and organize the closets according to color/season and place art on the walls and I had a project manager who was to stay in contact with me during the move. They were contracted for 4 days and when I arrived home, I found that the closets were not organized, my garage was full of unpacked boxes without labels, I still cannot find some of my things (one of which was my wedding dress that took days to find) and basics like my spices were left in a box on the floor. I was not happy that this time around I invested more time and money for the move and now months later, I am still unpacking boxes and placing things in the house that they could have done but did not. The project manager was sometimes difficult to get a hold of and the manager was not accommodating to basic requests. I did find some things broken and thrown in the trash, which was not great. I don't know if this was the mover's fault or not, but since I hired Silver Linings to manage the move, this should not have happened. At first, I would recommend them for someone who has a small job or basic move-in. They did great the first time. My second move was more complicated and they lacked the ability to handle it well.

Silver Linings is an unpacking service. My husband started a new job, and I needed some help unpacking the boxes. As our viewers may be aware, the unpacking service provided by moving companies includes only unpacking onto a flat service. (Been there, done that in a previous move and sent the movers away while we were still packed!) So when our employer told us "unpacking" was included, I knew to get an estimate from the mover and then used this to get approval from the employer that this amount would be paid by the employer.Had we been "unpacked" from the mover, it would have cost us $984.31. A group of five people came to the house, and while I was out running errands, unpacked and organized our home--for $900. First of all, I felt totally comfortable leaving because they were genuinely nice people (from the first time I called to speak with the owner to meeting the team that arrived). They are mostly retired people, and they know what they are doing! By the time I returned home from errands, the kitchen, main living area, bedrooms, and bathrooms were unpacked! And nothing was broken. My only regret is that I didn't give them more direction, because they were willing to do things exactly as I preferred. I'm an organizing freak, so I did move some things around after they left.
Description of Work: I hired them by the hour to unpack the priority rooms: bedrooms, kitchen, family room, and whatever else they could get done within my budget. (Our home is just over 3000 square feet.)
