Originally when we bought the house, we had someone else doing the monitoring - they took over. They were supposed to also do the maintenance of the equipment. I started having some problems with the alarms, I had a few false alarms. I would call them, it would take an hour to finally get someone, they would then transfer me to someone else, I would end up with a dial tone and have to start over again. In January I was having a problem where I couldn't get the alarm to turn off. They sent me something to bypass all but three openings, they sent someone out who walked around looking at everything. He disconnected everything, cutting the wires and left them hanging there. He said that everything needed to be redone and just left. I was unhappy with them leaving me without the alarm. I told them that I would just get someone else to take care of everything - they sent me a contract, they were charging a lot more and wanted me to sign the contract. They told me they would come and fix everything without charging me if I signed the contract to continue with them. They sent me a revised contract after we discussed it - it wasn't correct. I didn't sign that. I had already paid in advance through March. Someone was supposed to come out to talk to me about my service, they never showed up or called. I have switched services since then, they are still billing me. They are trying to tell me that I owe them $300. I have no contract with them and they were paid in advance 3 months when I had no security because the system wasn't working.
Description of Work: They didn't install the system, they just did the monitoring service.

Service was ok. Still attempting to terminating service. Provider is threatening to RUIN our credit. We terminated service in January 2013 by phone. They wanted a letter. We provided letter which they deny receiving. Today is May 28th and we are still receiving bills for service which we terminated in January 2013. We have spoken with 5 different representatives over the phone. The last person, a supervisor, said everything was ok, but we are still receiving bills. We called today after receiving a bill. Spoke with Charles Martin. Asked to speak with a supervisor, but he absolutely REFUSED to let us speak with a supervisor. We have been billed since our termination in January. Today Charles Martin said we would continue to be billed. Very rude representatives and they will take you for every dime. Even after you terminate service. Our next step is Litagation. Will NEVER recommend this Security System Service to ANYONE. They will DESTROY your credit, and they have horrid Customer Service

Response from Security Networks
We are in receipt of your letter dated May 29, 2013 regarding (Member name) and the request to have their Monitoring Agreement with Security Networks cancelled. I apologize for the delayed response. As a reputable company, doing business for over 12 years in the industry, we stand by our strong commitment to our customers, and work very diligently to assist customers through our highly qualified customer service team. At this time Security Networks will not release (Member name) from their Monitoring agreement with us, as our company has acted in good faith in its relationship with (Member name), and not wanting to have their equipment Serviced is not a valid reason to cancel their agreement with Security Networks. (Member name) have been made aware of all the available options to cancel their agreement and we even informed (Member name) on 4/15/13 that the written request to cancel the account hadn’t been received, which is necessary in order for Security Networks to cancel any monitoring account; we would also like to point out that the first call we received from (Member name) was February 2013 and it was in regards to having their equipment serviced. We continue to be very proud of our customer service levels, but feel that as we are obligated to perform under the agreement signed, so should the other parties to the agreement. We very much appreciate your efforts in protecting the residents of Florida, and very much appreciate any communication received by your office regarding any matter involving Security Networks being addressed to our company, as we make every effort to resolve any issues that may be claimed in a timely and efficient manner. Best Regards, Gabrila Uribe Compliance Specialist

My house was recently broken into and the motion detector installed by Security Network was found to be installed upside down by their employee. When I called after the breakin I was transferred 8 different times to find someone who could help me. All they did was provide information about a policy where they will give you up to $1000 against your home owners insurance deductable . However, you must file an insurance claim, which raises your insurance rates or risks your insurance being canceled. As well my deductable was $2500, so their policy does not help offset the costs, especially since they were negligent in the installation of the alarm. This company has awful customer service. Each call results in transfers where the same information must be provided over and over. They don't care that their alarms fail. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: I has their security system installed in 2008. My house was recently broken into and the alarm system did not work, even though it was activated. Their own technician informed me that the motion detector was installed upside down, so it gave the robbers free time to tear up the house and take several items.

They were excellent and it did not cost me anything to do it.
Description of Work: I just changed to Security Networks for my security alarm system. They replaced the existing security system and installed a new control box. They also added something that detects glass shattering and tied in smoke alarms to their system.

Awful, DO NOT choose to go with this company. They said they would be here for less than an hour and ended up being here 3 hours. And the system still did not work. They assured me at least 20 times it would be "just a couple more minutes" After several holes in my walls and time wasted I told them to leave. The sales man then called and tried to convince me that this new system would be much more safe than my current. When I told him no thank you, I don't want to do this anymore because it's not working out, he got very rude with me. I asked him if I needed to call and cancel (there is a 3 day grace period) he told me no, that he never submitted it since the alarm was not finished being installed. I didn't trust his word and first thing the next morning called the customer service number. He HAD submitted the paperwork AFTER I had told him I no longer wanted to do this. So, had I not personally followed up, I would have been stuck in a 39 month contract because he outright lied to me. The customer service number told me that I had to submit something in my own personal writing before they could even begin the cancellation process. I did that immediately. I have followed up and they have told me twice now that there is only ONE person that handles the cancellations with the company and they are not there. Needless to say I am livid. If this does not get resolved and I end up with this contract, I will contact a lawyer. They did nothing but destruct my property and lie to me.
Description of Work: They were supposed to install a new alarm panel and then take over my current system. However, after putting numerous holes in my wall, they couldn't even get the system to work and then blamed it on "bad cell phone service" in my area. I told them to take their equipment and leave.

I've had the service for almost three years now. Their price is fine and they have monitored the house (even dispatched the police once, as instructed). My chief complaint is their customer service. It is very hard to reach anyone, they keep very sparse hours and when you do reach someone, they don't always sound like they know what they're doing. It feels like there's 3 guys running this out a storage shed somewhere. That doesn't really buoy my confidence in their abilities. As I said, I haven't had a problem with their monitoring capabilities, but I may start weighing other options. If I can get out of my contract, that is.
Description of Work: They installed a security system in my house. They were coming around to houses offering free installation of a security system. My current system was fairly old and I had become somewhat disenchanted with the current company, so I agreed. The installation was done quickly and appeared to be done well. There was hang up, though, when I asked for monthly statements. The company balked and said they couldn't provide them. I said they could cancel it if they couldn't provide something that simple. After much hemming & hawing, they acquiesced and have (intermittently) provided a statement. They came back about six months later because we had removed the carpet in the living room, so the sensor wires were exposed. The tech said there was no way to re-run the wires, so my only option was to go with wireless sensors at a cost of $90 each.

The only "downgrade" from all "As" to 1 "B" and the rest As is the length of the contract for the 2gig system. Other than that, these guys are top notch and the monitoring system is good too.
Description of Work: First had installed the 2gig wireless security system in Nov '11. I've recently added glass breakage alarm as well. The main contact (Bruce) is responsive as are the two lead techs, Nathan and Joe. I've had Ron, the tech associate onsite 3x now for all jobs and he's been considerate, ontime and responsive.

I had security service for a home with Security Networks starting in 1996. I renewed the contract in 2008. It went onto automatic bill pay. I sold the home. The company will not stop the automatic bill pay until the anniversery of the contract. Even though they have not provided service since December when their technician disconnected the telephone. The "customer service" representative was more concerned with their contract than the fact they have not been providing service. Don't sign a contract with this company!

They were just coming around the neighborhood asking if anybody wanted it. The installation was free. They were very professional and polite. Everything was really fast and they did the installation the same day. There's a monthly charge plus tax which is pretty reasonable. Their quality and responsiveness is very good. They got everything done on time as well.

They were great. The system is really cool. It is wireless. My seven year old can use it if she needs it.. I spoke to George, the owner, who came out the day after I called him. He came out the very next day and installed it quickly.

The installer was late and had difficulty completing the installation - he said due to bad information from the main office. When asked to come back later, since it was taking so long, he almost refused. By the time he finished, he was late for another appointment and rushed through any explanations, instructions and obligations. When I received a notice from Security Networks, over a month later, they told me I need a permit for the system they had installed. This was never mentioned and probably would have been a deal breaker for a "Free" installation. They reamin unwilling to reach a compromise and I have requested a full refund of "monitoring" charges. The system has never been armed. I just don't trust these people.
Description of Work: I wish I had checked Angie's list first. Apparently many others have had a bad experience with this band of brothers. I was sold on a "no cost" installation that soon would have required an outlay of about $170.00 to obtain a permit. This was not discussed by the initial sales person nor by the installer. The installer was late. We tried to get him to return another time when it became apparent he would be there much longer than we wanted. He had to make many calls to complete installation claining a lack of support from the "Company". When he had finally finished, he was late for another appointment and somewhat hurriedly presented a lenghty contract. I now regret signing it, but reading all the fine print would have further interrupted our already disrupted evening. After learning the "Unexplained additional expense", I contacted the company for a resolution. All they did was give me the name of the installer with no other effort. The installer simply referred me back to the "Company" in Florida. I am now simply asking for cancellation of the poorly explained contract and a refund of a couple of months of "Service" that was not provided. I have never activated the supposed monitoring and do not feel comfortable doing so now. More later, I promise.

I recently moved from Indianapolis IN to Missouri City TX. I called to disconnect my security alarm with Security Networks. They stated that I have to pay for the full 5 years and couldn’t get out of the contract at all. They advised that they could secure my home in Houston as well but I don’t think its right that I have to pay for a full 5 years of service before I am able to get out of the contract. I'm now still obligated to pay 42 months to secure my home and now I feel pressured to install a system in my new home in Houston because I'm already paying for it. I should have stayed with ADT.
