They issued their report and told me what needed to be done. That consisted of repair to two areas of flashing and going over the roof to seal and hammer down loose nails. I am pleased with their work.

They were fine. I would give them all A's.

Inquired about solar screens - she does not provide this service but recommended several other companies in my area.

I called about some leaks in my roof. A sales rep came out, but he was much more than just a sales guy. I told him what I thought was wrong, walked him through the attic, he climbed up on my roof (two-story) to confirm what we though was wrong. The boots around the pipes were just old, warped, bad seals etc. I asked him for a 'ballpark' estimate on the spot, which was almost exactly the formal estimate I received a few days later.After we agreed to the quote, they scheduled a time to come out, replaced the boots, and haven't had any trouble since (several storms including the tornado since they came, and no leaks). I was pleased that they listened to what I had to say, helped me understand the problems better, and didn't try to 'fool' me into getting other work done that wouldn't have fixed the problem (i.e. didn't need to redo flashings, sidings, etc). They were honest, quick, and cheap. I would use them again.

He came out and was very professional and very nice. He seems really easy to work with. My insurance adjuster was really impressed. I look forward for him get started.

Scott responded promptly, inspected the area and did small repair, all for fair price.

Our roof needed to be replaced as a result of hail storms from the previous Spring. I arranged an appointment for an estimate. The estimator, Patrick arrived on time and was professional and efficient in making his estimate. He provided me with a packet that included a detail of the estimate, proof of insurance, references, shingle choices, frequently asked questions, and how to prepare for the work. I did not tell them what my insurance company's estimate was. Their estimate was right inline with the estimate from my insurance company. Upon selecting Scott Exteriors, they scheduled the work for the following week, arrived on time, and completed the roof in less than 2 days. They did a great job cleaning up afterward. A couple days after completion, the crew chief, Dan, arranged for a final walkthrough and inspection, and made sure the work had not caused any problems with our water heater and furnace. The roof looks great and they made the experience quick and painless.

Our roof was damaged by hail in the storm of 10/23/11. I picked Scott Exteriors because of their high rating by Angies List and because of their good Better Business Bureau report. Additionally, they did not ask me to participate in insurance fraud by altering the price to cover my deductable. Our sales representative was Jordon Wassel, who was courteous and showed up when he said he would. The roof was installed on 12/16/11, as promised, and they did a good job. The crew kept our yard and flower beds clean during the process and after they were finished. They have their own inspector that made sure everything was done properly and nothing in the attic was damaged. I highly recommend Scott Exteriors.

This is a quality company, and it is clear that its reputation is important to the employees. A huge thumbs up!

The adjuster returned my call promptly even though it was immediately following a major rain storm and they were very busy. He was courteous and professional when he came out. The work was done promptly and for the amount quoted.

It went fine. He was nice and professional. H even came out on Saturday since he lived nearby. After his assessment of the situation, he determined the roof was fine and that possibly the ceiling leak was caused by a window leaking due to water direction when it rained. He did not charge us for the visit and referred us to a window company.

I called Scott for a bid based upon the reviews in Angie's list and the proximity of their office to my home. The salesman called me back quickly and scheduled an estimate and bid. They came on the scheduled date and removed/replaced the roof in a two-day process. Cleaned up after the job real well. I had to point out that my satellite TV didn't work when they re-installed it, and they sent a direct TV specialist to my home that day to fix it. Apparently a satellite dish has to be perfectly aligned to receive an HD signal; just bolting the dish back into the old holes isn't precise enough. My only surprise was the amount of noise that accompanies the roof removal. My dog couldn't stop barking at all the racket. This isn't a problem caused by the contractor -- just part of the process that surprised me a bit. As a final touch, one of their guys came by after the job and climbed into the attic to inspect the vents for the furnace and water heaters. These can be knocked out of alignment during the re-roof and release carbon monoxide into the house. My father died from CO poisoning, so I know it's a real threat.

Our roof needed replacing from hail damage. We had used Scott Exteriors to replace a roof on a previous home about 7 years ago & had been very satisfied. Bruce Bacon came out to inspect & promptly e-mailed me estimates for a 30-year shingle & the Class 4 impact-resistant ones. The estimate included all the details of work to be done. Bruce also indicated that our insurance company might give a discount for the Class 4 (they do!) as they hold up much better/longer against hail. Bruce told me it would be about 2 weeks out & gave me an estimated work date. He was right on target with it. The work was done promptly & well over 2 days, with their inspector coming by to check on the progress & he also checked in with us. They did an excellent job of clean-up & used magnets in the yard, landscaping & gutters to pick up any missed nails. The inspector & an assistant came by after the crew left to check the work & make sure that vents were secure in the attic & everything was sealed properly. Everyone I talked to was very professional & friendly, and we are so happy with our new roof.

I contacted Scott Exteriors soully on the basis of the A rating on Angie's List. The estimator was prompt, professional and returned an estimate quickly. The crew was very polite and professional and did an amazing job. I became ill right at the end of the process and the office was quite patient. Everything from start to finish was a positive experience.

Everything was great. We would call these guys again in a second.

Patrick from Scott Exteriors was scheduled to do the inspection at 1 PM and showed up right on time. He was courteous and knowledgeable and determined that there was no hail damage on the roof and that the roof didn't need to be replaced. Despite the fact that there was no work done and hence, no charge, he didn't try to change the report to indicate that a roof replacement was needed. We are very pleased with the service provided and will call Scott Exteriors for all future roofing work on any of our properties. We categorized Price and Quality as "N/A" as no labor was done and no price was charged. All in all, this was all around an "A" experience!

Arranged for an estimate, verbal estimate was given, contract with estimate was sent via e-mail. Due to some scheduling issue and the weather service was not performed on the expected day but a couple of days later.

I think that we found them on Angie's List. They were very professional. They don't do windows and screens even though they are an exterior company and that was a surprise to me. I had thought that we could get one person that could come out and do the whole exterior. They did a fabulous job on the fascia and I was pleased about that. We had a lot of trouble in getting other quotes since they didn't want to give us quotes on the fascia and the vinyl, but they were really good about that and worked with us. The price was okay and they were pretty standard on that.

The work crew was punctual and professional. They completed the job in 2 days and then followed up with an inspection. They did leave a significant amount of roofing material behind that had to be moved to allow entry to my garage. But, this was a minor inconvenience. They honored the Angie's coupon for $250. My complaint with them is a point of professionalism. The crew turned off my water in an unexpected location and did not notify me or turn it back on once they had completed the job. Once I checked everything I knew to do, I called the pros and the service call was $97.50. This was the same day as the final inspection and I was told Bruce would get back to me after checking with the crew as to how they would handle the situation. Two follow up emails and I am not getting any response back.

Due to the large number of roofing jobs, they were not able to begin on the date originally planned. However once they were able to work, they worked steadily ( in 100+ degree weather) until the work was complete. When first contacted, Jordan was prompt in his visit to estimate the work.

I contacted Scott Exteriors on 9/13/11. Karen emailed me back the next day and let me know someone would be coming out. As of 9/29, no one had contacted me. I emailed Karen again and Bruce called me this morning (9/30) and let me know that he didn't think that my roof needed to be replaced at this time. I thanked him for his honesty and I would consider using this company in the future.

Jordan was excellent with communication in the beginning, but when the job was finished, I wanted his confirmation that he had personally inspected all the details, particularly the chimney work, which was the main thing. After a few requests, he did confirm that he'd inspected the chimney and that all was done correctly. I live out of town, so it was very important to me to have his word, at least, in writing (email) that he had carefully looked at all the work in detail. After several days, he did provide this, and then I mailed the check to them. They charge a fee to make a payment by phone, so I mailed a check and felt a little inconvenienced. But I suppose this is not unusual. I have not seen the work since completion, because I live out of town, but I have his word that it was done well. He did make several disclaimers, in communications and on the contract, about matching paint color. I was very disappointed about the matching job, in the end; I'd thought that the match would be much closer than it was. At my suggestion, they initially took an old board to Home Depot to have it matched. They came back with something much, much lighter---looked almost like primer--and applied that to the chimney and the siding repairs. Jordan suggested leaving the chimney as was, since it did not butt up against anything. I asked that he repaint the chimney, along with the other siding repairs, and he had this done. For this, I had the tenants provide a can of old paint which no longer was a close match, due to weathering of paint on the house. I asked if they would try to match it more closely. He emailed back that they would be willing to try just one more match, but after that, he could not ask his crew to work any more on it "for free." I didn't agree that this would be free labor, but I felt it would be useless to argue. The job was costing me $2,170.00 total. I drove to Dallas, which was a huge inconvenience for me, because I was hoping to match it closer myself. As it turned out, I didn't have very much time in Dallas. I tried one match from Home Depot. The undertone of the color did not match, once it was put on the house, but you wouldn't have guessed it by the matching at the store. (Obviously, it is very difficult to match existing exterior paint, because of weathering.) I asked if they could make a bid to repaint the whole exterior and a separate bid to repaint just the front of the house. Jordan explained that they don't seek out painting work, because it's not their specialty. I am getting some bids now from professional painters to repaint the entire exterior. I've now discovered that some painters do quite a lot of carpentry work, like siding repair and replacement. Also, some are very skilled at matching any existing paint. So I would have come out much better to just hire a highly skilled painting crew from the beginning. Also, one painter I've found on Angie's assures me that he always uses the highest grade of Sherwin Williams, by his own choice, a grade that he expects to last 8-10 years. I had somehow forgotten to specify paint brand with Jordan, of Scott Exteriors. It turns out they were using America's Finest by Glidden. The paint expert at Home Depot advised that this was a step down from the original Glidden. So I asked Jordan to use the original Glidden, assuming he would need more paint matched to the old can of Glidden I had given him. Cons: Their disclaimers about matching paint color should be well heeded. They are not good at it and not patient or professional about it. Communication could be much better, especially after completion of the work. For all I knew, they had simply dropped off some poorly paid laborers at the property and then sent me a bill. I had to keep asking him to confirm that the details of the work were done correctly. They don't automatically use a high-quality paint. You must remember to specify this. If you choose to pay the invoice by phone, there is a fee. Most important, I feel, is that they appear unconcerned about their rating on Angie's List. I had gently reminded Jordan that I would be writing a report and would like to write something very favorable. I think it's essential to look for a contractor who is very much interested in pleasing the customer--especially in communication--and strives to maintain the best Angie's List ratings possible. If this is not a big deal to them, it should raise a red flag. Although they don?t expect payment until completion, Jordan had convinced me that the color match would not likely improve, by their efforts, and that he thought a third attempt would be ?asking them to work on it for free? ?two tries should be the limit, in his view. (They were at one try, for matching color, since I?d provided the can of Glidden.) But I then realized they don?t do complete painting jobs--and I understood I?d made a big error by not hiring a painting company in the first place. I feel they should develop painting expertise, since it goes along with siding repairs. At that point, I felt resigned to finding a painter for a complete painting job. I didn?t see the point in pursuing it further with them, and so I simply paid them. Pros: Jordan's initial estimate seemed to be very thoughtful, detailed, and thorough. Initially, his communication was excellent. His price looked fair. They don't require any payment until job completion, which is unusually trusting, and they deserve due credit for that. For these reasons, I didn't give lower than a C.

But best of all, I was up on the roof watching as they worked (I like to learn and keep an eye on how things are being done too). The men were totally fine with my being there, and were happy to answer any questions or concerns as they worked, including listening to my request for them to do the repair a little differently from how they were doing it - I liked this attitude a lot, normally tradesmen don't appreciate you breathing down their neck. They also were happy to teach me how to repair a roof, where to cut the shingles etc. I loved learning about it. I would use them again in a heartbeat. : )

I was very pleased with the overall experience. Patrick was highly responsive, and the crew worked diligently to finish the work by the day they had promised. The quality of the work looks very good. They added some additional flashing over a bay window and painted it, which I appreciate.

Scott Exteriors did an excellent job. The job estimator met me at the agreed upon appointment time. The actual job started on time and finished within the promised time window. The crew cheif walked me through the steps and procedures that they were going to do. The job site was cleaned thoroughly when the job was complete. And the inspector walked me through what he was looking for to ensure that the work was done as promised. I am completely satisfied with their work and would recommend the to others.
