We hired Jack Santarelli with Sandino Home Solutions to add a third garage to our home in April. The job is still not completed. He does not answer emails or calls in a timely manner. The roof which was completed in July is still sub par with large humps in it. The back fence was left in a hazardous condition in which we were forced to complete in a makeshift manner in order to protect our toddler and dog from escaping and falling subject to injury. The expansion joint was sub par and unsightly. The trim around the garage has yet to be completed. Unfortunately, our contract was agreed upon to "pay-as-you-go" and thus we have absolutely no way of holding him or his company to finishing this project. Mr. Santarelli has verbally agreed that these items should be corrected and yet there has been no effort to address these things at all. We were forced to contact someone to finish the garage doors ourselves so that we would at least be able to utilize the garage and get our property out of storage. We paid out of pocket to do this. This job is not completed and we are officially on day 223 of a project that we were assured would take only 42 days. It is my belief that Jack Santarelli and Sandino home solutions have no intent of finishing this job.I have heard every excuse in the book from "hurricanes to the south and tornadoes to the north" regarding why this job has not been completed. I read every complaint on line and believed the rebuttals from Mr Santarelli regarding the complaints however I have been played the fool by him on several occasions. There is always a verbal explaination regarding why things aren't going well and yet very little, if any, action to rectify the problem. This company did not have solutions regarding where to dispose of the building materials that were left in the drive way for months. It was even suggested to me by SanDino Home Solutions that we should take some of the items to the emtpy field across the street from my home to remove it from my driveway. A successful company knows where to take disgarded building materials. These are things that should not burden a home owner during a project unless they are doing the remodel themselves. This company absolutely does not stand behind their work. This company has no intent of finishing this project or any other project. I am sure he will say that I have been "difficult to work with" however I was a dream client until we hit day 100 of a project that was to take only 42 days. We paid on time, gave him the benefit of the doubt and by no means set unrealistic expecations which are all statements that have been made by other clients. Please research surrounding states and their government websites before discounting my claims. This business has had many names including Tarelli Construction, Home Design Solutions and SanDino Home Solutions. Please listen to me. I am an honest, hard-working citizen who strives to do the right thing in every aspect of my life. If you hire this company under ANY name you will be adding stress to your lives that is highly unnecessary. LOOK ELSEWHERE. I am looking forward to the rebuttal of this post by the business owner who always has an answer but very little action. Let my experience guide you. Let time speak for itself. I have celebrated the following holidays while waiting for the job to be completed. Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner....Something tells me the job will remain an open task while the fat guy lands his sleigh on my roof. This was, according to Mr. Santarelli "an easy job that won't take more than 3 or 4 weeks." Again, let time speak for me. Ask yourself this question "Do I want a contractor to start this job and finish it? Or do I want a contractor to START this job?" If you hire SanDino Home Solutions you are only looking for someone to START the job. Please Please heed my warnings.

Pros: - Very responsive to multiple emails and very receptive to additions and changes to details and choosing of design elements of the bathroom - Worked with us to provide a quote that satisfied our budget and still provided quality materials - Covered carpeted flooring and had carpets cleaned after the job - Kept us informed of progress and times and dates that subcontractors would be arriving and/or finishing jobs - Allowed us to pay only for work or materials that had been done or purchased (vs. 50% up front and 50% at the end) - After work completed and job paid for, they are still responding to emails and some things noticed after payment of services (all work is warranted) - Nice show room to see products offered and also will provide options for lower cost alternatives that are still quality - Showed customer appreciation afterwards by sending a wine and food basket to the house (very nice touch) Cons: - Still have stain in driveway from dumpster (they are working on getting this taken care of) - Some issues with math on invoices, but was fixed immediately upon discovery - The electrician used stated that something we wanted done would cost ~$600 due to having to rip down a wall, however we found another electrician who easily fixed the problem. Overall, we would definitely use this company again. Probably within the next 6 months to build out a closet in a bedroom

Response from SanDino Home Solutions, LLC
The(Member name removed) were a pleasure to work with especially because they did their research and knew what they were looking for with the outcome of their new expanded bathroom. We pride ourselves on communication, responding to the needs of our clients when ever they need, even meeting with them in the evenings as was the case with the (Member name removed) due to their work schedules, and always make sure that the clients houses are protected from debris. At the end of our interior design and remodeling projects, we always supply a Cleaning Service to clean their house and make sure it is in the same condition as when we started. We did try to work on an additional Electrical project that the clients requested and our electrician was charging more that we agreed with, but that is an area that we are not licensed and so it's an area of work that we can not perform within our business so we must sub-contract the work out. I was glad to hear that they found another electrician to perform the work at a lower cost, and we ended up with a resource for another electrician which is always a plus. We are planning on working on two other projects with the (Member name removed) and that really does validate that they truely enjoyed working with us. We do wish that our pricing could be a bit less, but with all of the services we provide at no charge when remodeling, such as Interior Design and Bathroom Design Services with our CAD program, we can not be the least expensive but we can provide a full service that clients enjoy. Thank you to the (Member name removed) and we look forward to our next project together. Jack Santarelli

The work began on the master bathroom and we began to have problems with this company right away. Holes were knocked through a closet door adjacent to the bathroom as well as through the wall into the master bedroom. The workers did not take any measures to help keep our floors protected and clean nor did they exhibit very much experience with the work they were doing. The project manager had very little direction, if any, from the sales manager/owner Jack Santarelli, and plans, layouts, work instructions, appeared to be non-existent. We had to provide direction whenever we found issues with work that had been completed which was an almost daily occurance. The workers never showed up to work before 10:30 - 11 in the morning and there were multiple weeks where no work was done for 2 and 3 days in a row. Most work was done poorly or incorrectly and every step of this project had to be redone at least once. Installation of tile in the walk-in shower had to be done 3 times before it could be deemed "good enough" and the shower floor had to be laid twice because the drain ended up almost an inch higher than the tile floor on the first attempt. A light installed over the shower stall dropped about 6 inches from the ceiling a few days after being mounted. Cabinets were installed but not leveled until we pointed out that this needed to be done. A new vent cover was installed in the ceiling and the next day one of the screws fell out. As part of the project, a full wall at the end of the shower was to be cut in half to allow more light from a window but was so sorely planned that it ended up being cut almost 4 inches higher than the bottom of the window and at an angle that was over a full inch lower on one side than the other which, if left as it was, would have blocked the window and caused water to severely pool along the glass panel at the end of the shower. The list of mistakes, shoddy work, and total lack of planning, combined with inexperienced and unskilled labor caused this project to drag along for 8 long, stressful weeks before we finally had them complete the master bathroom as best they could and leave our property. We refused to let them do any work on the guest bath whatsoever. We have been using the master bath for about a month now and we are very careful to dry certain areas of the shower stall due to water pooling and concerns about tiles being installed properly. It's like we're just waiting for things to start falling apart on us. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!
Description of Work: We hired SanDino Home Solutions to remodel our master and guest bathrooms. This was to be a major remodel that included a complete renovation of the master bath.

Response from SanDino Home Solutions, LLC
We did have issues with this project almost from the start due to a crew that was not attentive nor did they provide the quality that we expect. We immediatley replaced them and moved forward as planned. We communicated wtih the client daily and never neglected the project at hand. Areas that were not completed properly were directed to be done again until completed properly. The project took longer than anticipated and we uncovered interior damage on the sub floor of the raised pier and beam house that needed reconstruction not planned. The minor damage to the closet door did occur due to the very close quarters that the crew had to work in while doing demolition on the entire bathroom. This project was one that if something could happen, it did, but we kept moving forward and did whatever needed to comlete the project with satisfaction to the client. Its not how a project starts sometimes, but how you finish and honor what you are to do for the client at what ever cost, and we did. We did know exactly what measurements we needed and what needed to be executed for this project to be completed, sometimes when you get into a project, certain things can not be done as planned based on the existing floor plan and how certain areas are effecting that design so you adjust and make consessions to move forward. Any issues that the clients may have or any warranty work that needs attention, we will honor the warranties and make sure that any issue is resolved. We obviously hoped for a better project result when starting but with any business, you will have worker issues that may need attention and even termination, and in this case we had both, but we kept moving forward and finished the project. The client seemed satisfied due to the final payment made and if we could do it all over, we would have still honored our work and we apologized for any inconveinence that we may have caused. Again, we wish we could have had a better start with but unfortunatley things will happen that are out of our control and all we can do is correct them and do what ever it takes to get the project completed. We completely understand the feelings of this client as ours were even more elevated because we're there trying to do a quality job and our references are our business and not making a client happy is NOT what we set out to do, that we be a short term business and does not support a Design Showroom and employees. We apologized and we're very sorry for how her project was not what she expected, as it was not for us as well. If there is anything they need to ensure long quality, they should contact us as we have given them every opportunity to do so.
