I found their staff to be friendly and professional. After I explained the problem, they assured me my lamp could be fixed. They explained that they had a lot of work preceding mine and it might take 2 months before repairs could be made. This wasn't a problem for me, but I was pleasantly surprised when they contacted me just one month later and said my lamp was fixed. They did a great job of installing a new socket and switch and the lamp works great! The cost of the repair was more than reasonable. I will definitely use them again!

Fantastic. Super friendly. Didn't mind that the original fix was less than a dollar. spent about 20 minutes with us selecting crystals in the correct colors to replace missing ones on our lamps at home.
Description of Work: A lamp we're fond of stopped working...the thumb screw to click the bulb on and off had stopped working. I thought for sure it was a goner, but I took it to Royal Touch and they identified the problem and fixed it immediately! Total cost? $.79. And they were friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up buying $30 worth of accessories to update other lamps in our house!

It's kind of a mom and pop owned. I've used them many times and they're very fair in their pricing. They're quick and even gave me something for free. They make a lamp out of anything. I think many people in Dallas use them.

I walked in, a guy walked up to me and looked at my lamp, diagnosed the problem in about 5 seconds. He found the part I needed and fixed it for under $20 in about 10 minutes. Couldn't be happier with the job.

Everyone from the initial phone call to bringing in the lamps to updates on the progress of the lamps to completion of the work and pick up was FABULOUS! Their work was impeccable and ready before the promised date. They even carried them out to the car for me. Exceptional customer service...(a rare find these days, sadly)...from start to finish. Have already recommended them to family and friends.

We have to brass plated table lamps. They helped us pick out lamp shades for them to use in the same room and they are re-wiring, tightening up and cleaning one of the lamps. They are extremely helpful and in the past, we have had them help us pickout and order an authenic globe ffor our 1920's street light. We have used their services off and on for years and would recommend them to everyone.

What a great place. Busy busy busy but their mission must be to fix every lamp that comes in the door, and they seem to have a highly skilled experienced crew of people to make that happen.
Description of Work: We've had a set of three beautiful Italian glass pendant hanging lamps over the bar but one lived in a box in the pantry, missing a certain elusive part that kept the whole thing from crashing down. After 5 years of wishing and investigating and shopping online and at electrical shops and even calling the manufacturer, a retail lamp store finally directed me to Royal Touch. They are so attentive, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to talk to. Shop is soooo busy, they tried to tell me how to install the elusive part my own self, and anybody else probably could have done it successfully, but they could tell I was unable to understand the wiring instructions. I left it with plans to pick up in 3 weeks, but lo and behold got a phone call the next day saying come pick it up! Was a quick job and they worked it in because they knew I was leaving town and they didn't want to make me wait.

I received excellent service from this small-ish lamp repair/supply company. I took in a floor lamp that needed the switch repaired and a desk lamp that needed welding to repair it. The switch for the floor lamp needed to be ordered if I wanted to match the color of the old one. I opted for that and they were very good about communicating the delay and the reason for it. Cost me about $16.00 for the new part and labor. They had told me when I dropped the desk lamp that their welder was out for health reasons and that it might be a couple or three weeks before it was repaired for less than $15.00. Also, they were good about communicating the issue and had both lamps ready at the same time. It took about 3 weeks, but I was very pleased and not stressed about the delay because they called twice along the way.

I took two large table lamps in for repair thinking they'd both need to be rebuilt with new lamp kits. Right after entering the store a clerk greeted me and said she'd get someone to help me right away as she was already waiting on someone. A very nice woman came to the counter, I told her the lamps weren't turning on consistently. I also told her that I'd found them on Angie's List and had driven quite a way to bring them in for repair. I told her I'd brought a book to read on the off chance the repair wouldn't take too long and they were able to fix them as I waited. She took them to the back and we chatted a few minutes and 10 minutes later another woman brought the lamps out REPAIRED! I was in and out within 25 minutes max. The charge was very reasonable and inexpensive...I was stunned at the level of kindness and service! Needless to say if I need any lamp parts or repairs done I'll go back to Royal Touch. They also have a large selection of specialty bulbs, lamp shades (glass and cloth), finials, ceiling fan pulls, etc. Great place!

I called several lamp repair places and the one closest to me charged $37.95 to replace a socket and it would take four weeks. I had several places refer Royal Touch so I called them. They charged $20 to replace the socket and they did it while I waited - within ten minutes! Everyone there was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful.

We waited 3 months for an appointment, because they're so busy (so that means they are good, right?) On the original visit in late Nov. 2009, we took one of the lamps so they could see the situation. The lady at the front desk said, YES, they could easily cut through the plaster lamp (without damaging it) as well as the metal rod inside. But after we dropped off the lamps in late Feb. 2010, we received a phone call saying, NO, they could not cut through the plaster, that they don't do that - they could only remove the candle and replace parts. The lamps had sentimental value, so we went ahead with the project. When we went to pick up the lamps a week later, some areas of the plaster had been visibly chipped, but they would not take responsibility or own up to that. We took the lamps home and discovered the harps and saddles were not mounted level, nor did the switch face the front of the lamp (so the lampshade would be sitting cockeyed) and all the cords were 40 inches too short. We called, and returned the lamps the same day. I had to sweet talk them into doing the work, the girl at the desk was kind of lah-dee-dah about everything -- luckily I had the original cord with me, so the length issue was irrefutable. After gently pointing out all the mistakes, finally, the smirks on their faces disappeared, and their uppity attitude changed. They took a full 30 minutes and did an excellent job on the lamps. So -- if pressured, they can do really fine work -- although the lamps are chipped and I have to take care of that elsewhere on my own dollar. They did not offer me a discount or attempt to placate me, or even say they were sorry. Additionally, I had now made 4 round trips of 1 hour each for those lamps, so I am not a happy camper. Apparently, they are about the only game in town -- it kind of makes me want to open my own lamp repair shop and give them some competition. On all 4 trips to the shop, it was apparent that there is discontent among the employees and this affects the way they deal with customers. We will not use this company again.
