I called Rodger's around 9am on a Tuesday. They said they could send someone out that day which was very much appreciated. He asked about my schedule that day which was also nice. I told him i'd be home all day and he said he would have his guy call when on their way. He called me back twenty minutes later and said Robert was on his way. Robert was great. He was friendly and very helpful while on the job. I like to observe just to see and he had no problem with that was actually volunteering info and helpful facts and tips about my plumbing. He was telling me about some tips to do that had nothing to do with what he was there for. I found it extremely helpful and insightful. Only took him about 30 minutes to snake the issue and get it done. Overall, a GREAT experience and I highly recommend this company to anyone!

At first, very well. We had an emergency and they were quick to respond when we definitely needed quick help. They did not do a poor job, we just had issues with the following: * three different crews (one to remove; one to replumb; one to put in the new water heater). Therefore, there was no continuity or familiarity with the entire scope of the job. Plus each crew was critical of the work of the other crews, (using words like "lazy" and "sloppy") which certainly did not make us feel very comfortable from a quality perspective. * when they brought the new water heater, it did not fit in the closet (I guess no one thought to measure the closet?) This cost us more time without hot water, and the water heater we wanted was not available in the size that would fit, without further delay. * on the removal, we were going to pay by credit card, and were told it would add 5% (or maybe 3% not certain I remember the amount, but a charge, nevertheless) to our bill. Charging extra to use a credit card is now illegal in the state of Texas. So we paid by check. I told the plumber that is was illegal, and he said, "yeah, a couple of people have said that, but they still tell us to do it." * they never mentioned a city inspection, which is required. I called the city to have it done, and was told the Plumber had to schedule it. Called the plumber, and they said they did not know "i wanted one." Gosh...I don't think it is a choice. They charged me $100 to set up the inspection. I guess if I had not brought it up, it would have never happened. While they really helped us at a time we needed it, once we started with them, I felt "trapped" to complete the job with them. I certainly could have changed at any time, and probably should have. Just felt there was too much inconsistency and rule breaking. Have gone back to our old plumber, who we could not reach during this crisis...they were having phone problems and it was an awful time for them...could not respond to customers.

We thank you for your review. We would like to have sent out the same crew to complete your water heater replacement from start to finish. In your particular case due to your instructions from your insurance company we had to schedule three separate trips to follow the three separate steps for the removal and installation. Unfortunately the same crew was not available for every trip. We did have the technicians speak with the previous crew(s). We will strive harder to make the discussions more detailed (such as what size the closet was) in regards to the work previously done and work still needed. We are disappointed to hear about the unprofessionalism of our staff and the critiquing of one another, it will be addressed immediately. It has been our practice to charge 3 % for the convenience of using a credit card, due to the change in Texas law, our company will no longer be continuing this practice. There were questions about the inspection due to the involvement of the insurance company and we are sorry this was overlooked. We charge what the city and office fees are for the inspection. We are sorry your experience with our company and staff was not positive and will use your review to correct these issues.

I've used Rodgers for years. They've always done an excellent job. They are honest and have always done my repairs in the best, but most cost effective way. I once had a leak in the laundry room and they could have told me the valve and cutoff needed to be replaced, which would have required major work. Instead they first tried repairing the valve. That repair worked and was far less than what the full replacement would have been.

The tile contractor that tried to reset the toilet after putting in new tile, broke the flex line. I called two companies I got off of Angie's list. They both came that day. Rodger's plumbing was able to give me a price over the phone. Keith, the representative from Rodger's plumbing, was here within two hours of me making the initial call. He had the part replaced in less than 10 minutes. I was charged the price I had been quoted over the phone. There were no hidden charges and no unnecessary parts added after they arrived. A great help when other contractors were not.

Everything went very well. The crew arrived right on time and was able to isolate a drain line leak under a tub in an hour or so. With their advice, we decided not to repair it just yet, as we're looking to remodel that bathroom anyway, and the new tub may have different measurements. When we select a new tub, I will be calling them back to do the repair and install the new tub. As part of the isolation test, they removed the master bath toilet and found that the existing flange (a repair done by another plumber) was installed much too high, which necessitated using a nearly 2" stack of shims to keep the toilet steady. They cut the flange off and replaced it. The toilet now stands squarely on the floor, and was steadied with only one tiny sliver of a shim due to one tile being slightly out of place. While doing the aforementioned work, they were also nice enough to clean out my shower drain which was starting to run slowly. This is my second time to call Rodger's Plumbing, and they will continue to be my first and last call for my plumbing needs.

.My exterior faucet was busted and leaking water inside the wall. I made a mistake of not asking for the cost before asking them to come. They charged me $45 for the part and $160 for labor. 3% more if I want to pay by credit card. It took about 25 minutes for the entire job. I had the same faucet replaced 2 years ago with a different company for $87.50. The job was pretty simple so it went well but I thought changing $160 labor for 25 minutes for work was excessive.

The kitchen sink backed up and flooded the cabinet underneath. Of course it opened on a weekend. :(, and we were having a party Sunday evening. I called and spoke to Cheryl on Friday after hours, and explained our problem. She said that she had 1 plumber working Saturday and already had several calls on the schedule, but would make arrangements to fit me in. True to her word, Cheryl called me on Saturday confirming that a plumber would be at my house in the morning. Cheryl was accommodating and understanding, she then called to let me know that Robert was on his way. Robert arrived and I explained the problem. He got to work and persevered when at first the cable did not go all the way. On the 2nd try the cable snaked all the way and he cleared the line. He was very polite, and explained how to take care of the maintenance of the drain lines to avoid them blocking up again. Thank you Rodgers Plumbing.

.To finish up a laundry room update, we needed a plumber to install a new faucet and adjust a drain to accommodate a deeper sink than had previously been in the space. Unfortunately, we did not call Rodger's Plumbing to begin with, but called upon another plumber who had been recommended by a friend. That plumber made a mess of the job and we had to call him back twice for leaks. Finally, we called Rodger's, and a service man was available within one hour on a Friday afternoon. Robert arrived and fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes - success! No more leaking! We felt that the charges were appropriate and we will call upon Rodger's again for future plumbing needs.

From the first call to Rodger's Plumbing the experience was great. Tiffany was very helpful in explaining what I needed to have done before her plumber could come out and install the new shower plumbing. After I had my contractor prep the shower wall I called Tiffany back and she had her plumber (Robert) here within two days. She gave me time frame that he would be here and she called when he was on his way. He showed up on time and did an excellent job. Also he cleaned up before he left. After my contractor installed the tile I called Tiffany back and she had Robert here within a day to finish the job. It was a very nice, professional experience.

I have used Rodger's in the past with great results for a very good price. The job before this one they dug up the ground at my meter, changed out a 90 coupler for about $220. I have also used them for a good prices before then. Naively, I believed that this would be the same Rodger's I had done business with in the past and did not ask for a price up front (after all they claim to be by the job not the hour). Unfortunately, that is no longer true. To change a T-connector they charged nearly $450 dollars. I called them to understand why for less than 3 hours of work their labor was so high when they had been so reasonable in the past. It turns out the the owner had passed away so his customer service priorities did not move forward. They offered me $25.00 as if that made up for their high price in this regard. According to their mantra they charge by the job NOT BY THE HOUR. This isn't true. When I brought up that their labor was over $140 an hour the reply was that sounds right! I will have to treat them like any other company now and not rely on them for the best price and service. They have been getting my recommendations to friends and relatives until now. SHOP AROUND. Rodger, rest his soul, is now longer in charge of Rodger's plumbing and it shows!

Response from Rodger's Plumbing
We are disappointed to hear you did not have a good experience with us this time. Customer service and satisfaction is always our goal. The same staff of family is running Rodger’s Plumbing as it was before Rodger’s passing. You are correct, we charge by the job and not by the hour, unless we are doing leak testing. The details of each job determine the final cost. A job that requires more digging or is not as easily accessed (such as hitting rock or roots underground and having to remove them) will increase the cost. There are many factors that build the base price for every job. After starting with the overhead items such as gas, insurance, etc., we do ultimately look at how long the job will take, therefore factoring in the technician’s pay per those hours. I apologize for any misunderstanding in the explanation you received in regards to our pricing. We are always happy to give an estimate when possible and hope you will call on us again.

Our hot water heater started spewing water on Thursday. I called Rodger's Plumbing on Friday and they were able to come out that morning (even though it was a bad weather day and below freezing). Jimmy quickly replaced the water heater, cleaned up, and even checked a toilet that was getting clogged regularly. Even a frozen hose (due to the weather) did not slow them down. I would use Rodger's Plumbing again.

I will keep this business card and number for as long as I own a home. Jimmy and Ronnie came out within 30 minutes of my call since they were in the area on another job. I had thought that my bathroom remodeler could easily install a Hansgrohe wall mounted bathroom faucet, but the installation required him to cut a brass threaded nipple to the correct length for the spout. A few days after completing the job the faucet began leaking from the trim plate. I called the Hansgrohe trade hotline and they said the nipple was cut too short and they immediately sent two replacements at no charge. I had first contacted Bakers Brothers Plumbing and A/C for this repair, and they came out, charged me $39 and gave me an estimate for $410.47 (after discount!) to change out the nipples. The Bakers Brothers plumber did not seem confident about cutting the new brass pieces and luckily he did not have a 4mm allen wrench to start the job. That's when I called Rodger's Plumbing. Jimmy and Ronnie were able to correctly measure and cut the brass nipple on the right side faucet and get the faucets re-installed in about 40 minutes for $160. Both faucets are working perfectly and look beautiful.
