Who would have thought i could get excellent service on new years day. When i called they were backed up. Was told they could fit me in once they knocked out all they're club membership calls. They had a tech come by that was in the area, and he diagnosed my problem correctly after doing a thorough check out of my system. Parts were on the truck to fix my furnace, so the tech had me up and running in about an hour and a half. Im glad to have found a company that does reliable honest work. I also had the tech tell me about they're membership program. Which after hearing about made sense to get. Now i get front of the line service when i call in, and 2 maintenance calls a year. Would highly recommend Rescue Air to anybody looking for quality, and honest a/c or heater work.

After my inspection the technician went over everything with me. He went as far as rating his suggestions by telling me what he thought should be done sooner than later and what he thought could wait. Considering i am on a fixed income this helped me tremendously and did not make me feel pressure to make a decision right that second. Thank you Rescue Air

I called them on 12/30 to see if they had availability. The owner was out in my area and came over an hour later. While talking to the nephew on the phone I asked if I needed to buy the coupon on angieslist or if they would just honor it. He said no need, they'd honor it. The owner was able to diagnose the problem pretty quickly and quoted my 520 to replace the inducer assembly. This part goes for about 100 bucks on amazon. So that's about 420 for labor. I asked the owner if this comes with a warranty and he said it does, 1 year. To be honest I called a different company to check on the quote, but they said it sounded fair, so I went ahead with it. The next day a different tech came out and had the part replaced within an hour. I'm not sure if they replaced the whole assembly or just the motor because the box with the part in it looked real small. The heater works great now and is a lot quiter so I'm satisfied. The speed of the work is what sold me. Heater went out on the 30th and was fixed and working on the 31st.

Michael Hirsh explained to me that my current system was 13 years old and was more furnace than I needed. He recommended a lower level for my house that would still allow me to maximize my AC efficiency. So the new new unit I bought was actually about $1,000 cheaper than the one I got 13 years ago. They arranged for installation same day and had four guys get it done in just over two hours. This is an attic unit that hangs in the rafters of a small crawl space, so it is not an easy area in which to work. The work went smoothly and the system runs great so far. The workers were polite and professional I would highly recommend Rescue Air as they are local and family owned, and my experience with them was fantastic.
Description of Work: Initially came out on 11/30 because my furnace wouldn't come on. He got it to work but said it would not last and would eventually need to be replaced, but he didn't pressure me to buy. It went out again the next day so I decided to go ahead and buy a new one.

One of the company's owners checked out the system and did the furnace tune-up. He found the furnace and system to be in good working order. Rescue Air's office staff on phone and on-site technician were very professional. Service was done promptly at the scheduled appointment time (2-hr appointment window). I will use the firm, again.

Addendum/update to my previous review posted 08/22/15 . I was contacted directly by the owner of the company regarding the mishandling of procedures in the bid process for my job site. The owner was concerned by the previous review I had posted on Angie's list earlier. After discussion and explanation of what happened a partial refund was offered in line with a more realistic appraisal for the process. Though my initial experience was not stellar, it is highly refreshing to see an owner/contractor truly "step up to the plate" and make things right. Mr. Hirsh was very professional, very understanding, and very much a "straight shooter". Mistakes happen in business and errors are made sometimes. It was impressive to see someone take accountability for the activity and take immediate corrective action. I tip my hat to the company and the owner. I would do business with the company again.

It's not a good air conditioner and it's only six years old. He said, that it should have lasted longer than that. They do make a better one. It's working OK now, and he said that if it stops working, to call him and he will give me half my money back. I would probably have to get a new air conditioner. They were Johnny on the spot. He said that they were a new company and try to give good service. He wanted to make sure that I was pleased and he was thorough. I had to have it. He told me the time and called when he was on his way. They were very nice and I called on a Sunday and they did not charge me extra. He analyzed the problem and came back the morning to do the work and it did not take him long at all. It took him about 30 to 40 minutes. He was adamant about coming back and he kept his word. I have two air conditioners. I was happy with his service. I think it was fair. The motor was a big thing and I have a year warranty.

I have been using Rescue Air for over a year. The first time something was wrong with my HVAC system. I called 6 different companies and they were the first to call me back. Of the other places I called, I left messages but I didn't actually talk to someone. Out of 6, 2 called me back. Michael came to my house. It took him 2 minutes to troubleshoot and knew exactly what was wrong. He was on time, cleaned up after himself (you wouldn't know he was there) and he was very nice. Since then, he's the person I text if I have any problems. He's always working so he'll pop by if there's a problem within 24 hours, he's always here when he says he will, he can trouble shoot in minutes, always professional and especially kind. Michael wants to have repeat customers so he behaves that way. If you want a discount, ask nicely and he might do it.

It went great, Michael worked with us trying to find the most cost efficient system for our home. The A/C went out on a Thursday night; it took a day us to figure how we wanted to address the problem, and got us installed that Saturday night with us going out of town that day and not getting back until after 6 PM! The installers were worked until 9 PM on Saturday to make sure I didn't have another night of 80+ degree temps in the house. That goes above and beyond keeping the client happy! I would absolutely refer this company to anyone with A/C or heating problems.

These guys really rescued me! I came home from work and my pregnant wife was complaining that the AC was not working. We called Rescue Air late in the evening and they were on-site in about 30 minutes. They quickly diagnosed the problem, but it required an additional part. They said they would return early in the morning, and they were there on time with the part to complete the repair. Overall fast and friendly service! We will use Rescue Air again when we are ready to replace our entire system.

Our downstairs (main) 5-ton unit died while we were on vacation and we came home to a warm house. I called 3 other companies before Rescue Air (just making my way down what looked good on Angie's List) and Rescue Air was the only one able to come out the next day. Unfortunately they were the bearers of bad news that our HVAC had a leak somewhere and was probably not worth fixing due to its age. Michael came out to take a look at it, showed me the pressure readings and explained about the expected lifespan of an HVAC and gave me 3 options: 1) find the leak and fix it - still likely to be very costly and no guarantees to prolong the life of the system significantly, 2) replace the main unit, and 3) replace both or our units due to age. They recommended that we do #3 for various reasons - more environmentally friendly, lower electricity bills, won't have to deal with something like this again anytime soon, but ultimately left the decision up to us. After waffling between #2 and #3 (SERIOUSLY sticker shock - I had no idea HVACs were so expensive!), we decided to just bite the bullet and replace both of our units. We also went with the more expensive Lennox units. They were able to start the work the very next day (so we were without our main unit for 2 days but it wasn't a true emergency since our upstairs was still cool). They replaced the main unit and did not leave until it was blowing cool air (it was well into the evening), and then came out again for one more day to finish up work on the main unit and replace the upstairs unit. They addressed our concerns with uneven cooling in various areas of the house and got everything properly adjusted. The installers clearly knew what they were doing, with the main guy having worked in the industry for 17 years. They hung (yes, hung!!) the main air handler in the attic using cables and a steel frame so that you don't feel the vibrations from it at all when it turns on. Everything is so quiet now, all I can hear is the whoosh of air as it moves through the ducts. It has only been a few days with our new HVACs but so far, so good, and I am confident that if we run into any issues, they would address them. Michael followed up with a phone call when everything was done to make sure we were happy. There was one supply vent that we ended not needing and when I asked about it, Michael gladly credited us the cost to install it. This is a small family-run company. Their goal is to not become so large that they cannot quickly address customers' needs, especially as we all know that no A/C in Texas is an emergency in the summer! Everyone works super hard, I felt they were experts in the industry, and they were honest. The only reason for the B in price is that we did not do any comparisons. I do think the price was fair. I'm sure we could've gone a little cheaper somewhere else but probably at the expense of service. No results on impact on our electricity bill yet - that will take another year to evaluate, but Michael was confident it would make a big difference. We would be most happy to use them again, but honestly hope we won't see them for anything other than routine maintenance for at LEAST 15 years, ha!

This is a very shady company. My installation was botched and had manufacturer defects/warrantee issues. Michael ducked out of the picture and I was directed to Josh Cambell, Michael's nephew. Josh was extremely unprofessional, threatening and dishonest when there were issues they could not quickly resolve. There were combustion fumes dumping into my house because of their botched installation. When Rescue Air would not address that something was wrong with the install, I called the city inspector to look at it and that is how I found out that they had NEVER Pulled A PERMIT. Installations without permits create warrantee issues with the manufacturer and exposes homeowners to liability in case of fire etc. (insurance). The City inspector quickly identified the obvious source of the NO2 spillage into the house. Had they gotten a permit, the issue I had with the installation would have become resolved early in the year. Rescue Air had never gotten a permit in Frisco.. ZERO Permits till they were forced to get one for my house. They did work for a friend in Allen and Rescue Air isn't even a registered contractor in Allen. It is virtually unheard of to do an HVAC install without a permit. The city of Frisco fined Rescue Air and made them pay for a permit. Once the permit was paid, the city could inspect (5 months after the installation) the following were redtagged: 1) Improper FLUE SLOPE They put in a cheap flex pipe with a 90 bend in it rather than a double insulated pipe going straight up. That was causing NO2 to dump into the house. 2)They didn't replace the GASLINE with a drip leg 3)They didn't install Freon locks on the condenser Josh who never even came to my house to see the install, confidently lied, saying that recent "roof work" is how the flue slope was bent. My roof had been install months prior to the furnace install. They did not replace any of the plenum boxes nor did they install a drain pan overflow that I had paid for per the quoted they gave me. In fall 2014 the 5ton unit lost all of it's freon, froze up and overflowed into the attic, and because they had not installed the secondary drain pan overflow switch, water dumped through the attic down to the first floor. It caused damage to my ceiling and carpet. Rescue Air replaced the condenser and drain pan with a manufacturers warrantee. They refused to fix the damaged carpet. It took months to get them to fix the ceilings. And they will not service the HVAC going forward. So they are not honoring the 1 year labor warrantee even.
Description of Work: I used Rescue Air Air Conditioning to replace my downstairs 5 ton unit and my upstairs 3 ton unit. They did the work without a permit and it was a botched installation. They did not honor their 1 year labor warrantee that came with the Trane install.

The A/C was beat up by a hail storm -- compressor included and several weeks after the storm the A/C quit working. Josh not only responded immediately when we called about the A/C not working, but he dealt with insurance when they didn't want to replace the unit. It was great. This is a system at my rental property and Josh came out to get it ready for the summer. The system checked out ok although it is getting older and is not that efficient. Josh called to my attention that the unit did not have a switch that would turn the unit off if the water backed up. It is a safety feature that is installed on newer system so you do have a nasty ceiling problem with water.

Our AC unit was blowing but air not cold. I called upon Rescue Air from a referral. Spoke to Josh, the owner. He said he could come out immediately, as it was a warm day and he didn't want us to be without cold air. His arrival was prompt, and he thoroughly inspected our unit, letting us know the unit is older and will eventually need replacing, but he said he was confident there was still some life to be had left in our unit, and for now just replacing freon should do the trick. Our AC is blowing cold air out and working great!! What most impressed me was that he didn't try to scare us with ominous news of needing immediate replacement. He outlined a detailed action plan for us to consider for the future, also talking numbers and pricing which didn't sound so scary after all, and he also let us know Rescue Air offers affordable payment plans when we are ready to proceed with replacing our current unit. This impressed me so much because I was expecting high pressure sales tactic, but that's not Josh's style at all. He's extremely knowledgeable, professional and honest as the days are long. No business jargon or hard to understand language. I felt like a good friend was at my house helping me understand everything so my family can sit down and make the best decision for our needs. When the time comes to upgrade our unit, I won't be calling upon anyone else. I recommend Josh and Rescue Air with two thumbs up and 5 stars! If you are nervous about the condition of your AC system and dreading to make that call, call Rescue Air. They are awesome!!!

Great service, good people. They did a great job without gouging me, unlike the first AC company I got a quote from. I'd highly recommend, very professional.

I called Rescue Air as a referral from the Chamber of Commerce when my A/C wouldnt blow cold. They came out fast and gave me news I knew was coming. My 15 year old compressor was bad. It has been leaking freon for years and cost me enough to move on with a new system. My ols system served 2 floors and was unbearable upstairs. The zone dampers never worked correctly. 78 upstairs and 68 down stairs. I splurged based on the recommendation of the comfort advisor, Michael and could not be happier! The new trane system has a humidifier and 2 new zone controls plus I can control the whole system from mobile devices. Plus I can add cameras and other cool devices down the road. The best part is the new zone system works! 72 everywhere in the house!!!!!! I can believe how comfortable it its now. Never thought I could be this comfortable but I have slept like a baby for a week and wish I had done this sooner. Do it and do it soon if you are in doubt. My neighbor had the same system put in by these guys and they said their electric has cut in half so I am looking forward to that as well. Thanks again Michael!
