We choose Quigley to replace a pair of 27 year old Trane A/C units, with new Trane heatpumps, and were delighted… • Chris – top notch salesman. Made it clear that the Trane products sell themselves and his value contribution was to fill in the knowledge gaps as we needed. Very prompt in his professionalism (e.g. email and question response times, thorough answers, et). An exception customer-facing frontman! • Scheduling – always well communicated and ON-TIME everytime…! This become exceeding rare in our experience in the thriving residential services industry. • Installation Crew – very respectful and everyone spoke English. As a native Spanish speaker, it not an issue for me, but all too often my wife has been in the difficult position with contractors when I’m at work to try to communicate with other project crews that didn’t speak ANY English. A simple but noticeable customer consideration. All of your crews show a sincere appreciation and respect that they were in OUR HOME. • Pricing – Competitive and simple. I like the bottom line pricing with everything included. • Post Install Follow-up – I applaud Chris’ check-in after the installations. The customer’s feedback of the install(s) is an excellent QA and feedback practice. However, if you don’t completely follow through with the outstanding items, it becomes a wasted effort… more below. • Mr Quigley - Very impressive display of Customer Commitment from the first day of the install, through the post-install follow-ups. It’s his name on the company and the personal involvement conveyed EXTREME OWNERSHIP (literally and figuratively) in the product and service.

They did what they needed to do. They came out and did a check on one of the units that wasn't working properly. They checked the fluids and some other stuff. I don't think they were out of line too far on their pricing. They were very quick to get back to us and I was having a hard time getting other companies to come out. They did it quickly and efficiently, they cleaned up their mess and left. They were good.

So glad I found Quigley! The heating unit sitting on top of our office building decides to go kaput during mid winter. Time is of the essence (I can't let my office staff freeze!) so I hit the phones getting quotes. This is a huge job so shopping around matters. I chose Quigley over other companies because: 1) Quick. They were lightning quick getting us a quote. As I said, can't have my staff freezing. Those little portable heaters can only do so much. 2) Fair price... and I had checked around. The only lower bids came from individuals, not businesses. Having a warranty and knowing it will be professionally installed is definitely worth paying a little extra. 3) Professionalism. From start to finish, Charity, Chris, and the tech staff were professional, quick, and just awesome to do business with. I'll be definitely be using Quigley in the future for other properties I own. It's a relief when you can find a reliable, competent, and fairly price contractor. I found that in Quigley. To all the staff at Quigley, thank you for being awesome!

I first used Quigly like a year before they did this job. I had an AC leak in one of my properties on July 4th. They were the only company that I could get to come out. Anyway I called them back and Mark came out and spent a good amount of time measuring and inspecting the house to come up with a good system to install. It took a few months for it to get hot enough for me to go on and give them the go ahead to install the system. They came on time, were very nice and spent around 12 hours installing the thing. They came back 3 times to adjust the system, add a fan and redo some of the duck work from the previous system and did not charge any extra. They showed me how to use the fancy themostat and even called a little while after to make sure it was still performing. The house is no longer an oven.

They came out and said I needed a part and the company wouldn't cover the work under warranty although it is still with in the time. I have asked to speak to the owner and service manager and both will not return my call. This is extremely frustrating and their extended warranties don't mean anything and worthless.
Description of Work: Quigley Heating & A/C of Dallas installed a 2 tank heating and air conditioner on November 1st 2007 and included the purchase of an extended 10 year warranty. I have had the the company come out and service the unit on numerous times during that period. The recent service requires a repair of the unit. This service includes the replacement of thermal expansion valve (TXO), the part is fairly priced but repair requires a lot of labor.

They got me in RIGHT AWAY in August. He confirmed the problem was the capacitor. He quoted me a price of $309 PLUS the service fee. I know that a capacitor costs $30-60, and most places will waive the service fee if they perform labor. I asked to waive the service fee, and instead he said he would use a lower quality capacitor and save me $10. :( In the end, I appreciate that they were able to take care of it quickly.

It went fine. I would keep them on my list to call but would get quotes from others before moving forward. The pricing was a little higher than some bids and a little lower than others. They justified their price by saying the quality would be better. I have rooms that are hotter than others. I still have those issues. In fact, i'm typing this in an office that's at least 8 degrees hotter than the living room next to it. They came out to adjust it twice but I eventually just gave up.

Quigley phoned after the service man was here to confirm order for new parts and date was set to come back out to install the new parts. They arrived during the agreed upon timeframe, and replaced the parts. Service man was very considerate with making sure that no soil from his wet shoes was brought into the house. Very friendly and explained everything that he was doing
Description of Work: Scheduled the regular maintenance service for a Friday morning. Called to move the appointment to the morning, and they were able to do that for me. They arrive within the appointed time frame and preform the inspection on the air conditioner. Reported that the fan motor was leaking oil, and cap unit was running below acceptable range. Estimate was given for replacing the units

I responded to a coupon that I received in the mail for a $39 precision "tune-up". I have used similar coupons in the past by other a/c companies, and they have come out, inspected, and cleaned the units for the advertised "tune-up" price, as well as recommended any necessary repairs. Luckily for me, when the service agent wrote back, I noticed that she interchanged the word "inspection" for "tune-up". These are two completely different things. When you pay for a "tune-up" on a car, a mechanic doesn't just look at the car; he adjusts the timing, greases the engine, and performs other maintenance work on it. Apparently Quigley Air thinks "tune-up" and "inspection" are one and the same thing. I think this is false advertising, and am just glad I caught this before actually paying for the service to be provided. Buyer beware!

[removed member name], Upon reading your Member Comments, we apologize for the confusion of the term “tune-up “. Quigley Heating & Air did not mean to mislead you in what we offer for the $39 inspection/tune-up. This offer includes checking Freon levels, checking that the condenser coil is clean, checking electrical connections, checking capacitors, checking condensate drains and inspecting filters. Since this is the first comment made re: this special and after attempting to contact you, we would like to apologize for the misperception and view your comments as an opportunity to revise our verbiage. Quigley Heating & Air are committed in providing accurate, thorough and honest work to all of the Dallas metroplex.

In their pre-job diligence Quigley H&A found that I did not have enough return air and uncovered flaws in my vent design. This discovery had apparently been overlooked by two other companies, but was probably why my unit failed. No problems since the work was done, energy bills are much lower and system is working well. I decided to sign on for a maintenance contract. I'm very happy with the new system, I wish I'd called them sooner.
Description of Work: I had Quigley install an AC unit and evaporator coil to replace an old unit that failed;.They also corrected some duct work to improve my return air flow.

See my full description... the same here.
Description of Work: I set the appointment last week; being told to show up would cost $85.50 just to come to my home, and another $120.00 for each of the 2 units to "inspect" them. Although I was a little surprised, I explained my downstairs unit had a condensate drain leaking issue, and the pipes from the outside condensers needed to be re-insulated and the condensers washed, and filters added/changed indoors. To me, at this total cost of $325.50, I expected them to provide some kind of service. Then she added that she needed a credit card to confirm the appointment. I found this strange, but in today's world I thought this was ok. This person who took my order for the service call only told me of these specific costs, obviously leading me to believe these issues would be taken care of. Upon arrival I questioned the obese technician about the service he was there to perform, being told this initial $325.50 only included him showing up to look at the systems and telling me... "yeppers! It's running... there's cold air blowing!" My reply... I'm sorry, this is what I'm expected to pay you to do... to tell me both units are blowing cold air for $325.50? (I'm p***** off again just having to relive this pathetic, outrageous situation.) He added that to wash the outdoor condensers, consisting of nothing more than using my water hose and spraying the outside units free of collected dirt and dust was another $40.00 each. Now another $80.00 for a max of maybe a 5 minute job using my hose and water! I was so mad I called the office and was told that not only this was correct, but I'd also owe them another $119.00 to simply blow out the inside condensate drain so it would stop leaking. And to add insult, I was told there would be an additional charge for whatever supplies the tech would use in providing this service. Now this is at $524.50 + unknown supplies... minimum! God only knows what else would be added by the time I'd have been presented with the bill if I'd allowed him to begin anything. Now I understand their insistence on requiring my CC in advance... to be sure once you've agreed to them being in your house, having performed any work, you are then legally bound to pay their ridiculous fees and they've your CC to get it. Absolutely despicable ethics! At this point I threw him out of my home and told this despicable company representative I was going to report them to the BBB for their unethical business practice. And I added that if they attempted to charge my CC, I'd call my bank and report their charge as fraud, unauthorized. Point here is... BE VARY WARY OF THIS COMPANY, ITS' ETHICS. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS, YOU SHOULD INTERVIEW THEM VERY CAREFULLY TO AVOID BEING USED, SCAMMED OR TAKEN ADVANTAGE.

On his report he wrote: Found bad control board and weak blower capacitor. After calling the Quigley office he said the unit was 19 years old and that Lennox did not make control boards for that old of a unit. I asked about any other option to get it running and he said there was no generic, rebuilt or new control board for that model heater. In the Professional Recommendations box he wrote: Replace unit, not cost efficient to repair due to age. I can't remember what ballpark figure he gave me for replacement but it was something north of $7,000. I then called United Mechanical. They came out and found the same 2 items to be faulty. They gave me no indication that the parts would be hard to find, in fact within 24 hours they replaced the parts and had the heater running. United Mechanical first quoted me $784.00 but the invoice came in at $536.00. Incredible!

Response from Quigley Heating & A/C of Dallas
We unfortunately made a mistake on this one. We had originally called the manufacturer of the part (Lennox Industries) and the person in parts sales advised us that the control board was no longer made. After hearing Member’s story I called our Lennox Technical Representative. He informed me it was still in production and the associate we had contacted was new and had made a mistake. I called Member back to apologize and see if there was anything we could do earn her business back. She explained the damage had been done at this point and there was nothing else that could be done be done. In the end we refunded her money for the last maintenance visit we had performed at her house for a total of $265.00. We do make mistakes from time to time, and when a customer calls in to let us know they are not happy with our services we do make an effort to make things right.

I was really unimpressed Quigley. I had just bought my house and was really interested in learning about the Heating and Air Conditioning system. The service men flew in, rushed through the service and flew out. When I tried to ask questions about the system I felt like I was imposing on their time and I got short one or two word answers to my questions. When I told the Fall service man that I was interested in perhaps having a new system put in all he said was, make sure to call me back out to your house for the assessment because I get credit for the sale then. He also told me I needed a Trane system; however, he didn't ask me any questions about my heating and cooling needs or any special situations that would require special equipment. From that moment on I didn't trust Quigley was looking out for my best interest but just trying to push a product they got the biggest commission on. I ended up buying a new Carrier Infinity system from another heating and cooling company and going with a service contract with the company that installed my system. They were super impressive and spent ample time with me understanding my needs, asking questions, and explaining the rationale for what they were recommending. For what I was paying, I got very poor service and I cannot recommend Quigley.
Description of Work: I had a "Silver" service agreement with Quigley and paid $24.98 a month for 10 months. In that period I had two service calls on my system ... one in the Spring and one in the Fall. The system was 15 years old. In the Fall service I paid an additional $262 for parts and in the Spring service call I paid $127 for parts.
