It was a costly mistake to hire this young man who assured me that he "was not going anywhere" and "would be there" if there were any problems with my system. There were problems immediately, and Jason was unwilling to even come back out to look at the dying plants and make adjustments to the system he had installed. The irrigation for the turf seems to be fine, but the drip systems, which are a very large part of the landscape plan, do not provide enough water. My home is not near his usual area of work, but he installed the system and should stand behind it. He has been unprofessional, unresponsive, and dishonest.
Description of Work: Jason Lackey of Picture Perfect Landscape installed an irrigation system at my home. He markets himself as a "water-saver landscaper" and does a lot of work in the Oak Cliff area. My home is quite some distance from there, but he contracted to install the system at my home nevertheless. There were problems with the installation from the beginning. He was slow to get out and finish; he did not complete tasks in a timely manner--even admitting to me in an email that he felt guilty about "dropping the ball" re my job; A tree consultant who was out to my home a couple of weeks after the irrigation system was installed warned me that the mulch Jason applied after installing the drip system was piled too high against my trees and rot was already beginning to be apparent. Jason admitted that the mulch was applied incorrectly and said he would come out and correct the situation, but he did not. Most importantly, ten weeks after the system was installed, it was apparent that my plants were not getting enough water via the drip system he installed. I lost thousands of dollars of shrubs and plants. Some were relatively newly planted, but many were well established plantings that I had had for years. I asked Jason repeatedly to come out and look at the system and the dying plants and make adjustments, but he would not come back out. Eventually he told me that I had signed paperwork saying that "an irrigation system has just as much potential to damage the landscape and environment as to help" and then that I was "out of the service area" and should contact someone else to make adjustments. In other words, he installed the system, but was unwilling to stand behind his work, which was inadequate. I had thought I was giving a young man starting a business a helping hand, but it has been a very costly mistake.

Response from PICTURE PERFECT LANDSCAPING
It has taken me a long time to respond to this review because I'm not in the habit of arguing with clients nor of making emotional responses. Work was asked of me which I performed. The client has other issues in the garden not related to my work but continued to insist that I was the cause. I made numerous trips out at no additional cost to the client to assist in correcting these issues. In the end, when more work was requested in addition to the original contract, I explained that I would not service her area with new work. This is when she wrote the negative review. Several months after the fact, I was called by the client to recommend someone to service her malfunctioning system. Since it was warranty work, I responded and drove out to look at the system. She had someone work on the system since I had last and who completely rendered the rain sensor un-operational. I replaced the sensor an no cost to the client though it clearly states in my contract that the warranty had been voided since another repair tech had attempted a repair. It wasn't for another two months that I would discover the negative ad. I've been in the business for a long time. I've known a lot of contractors. Nobody stays in business who is a straight F contractor.
