We hired Patio Works Inc to remove an old wooden deck and replace it with a paver patio. A natural stone support wall was also built to contain the pavers on two sides with the other sides being built against the house foundation. I consulted with 3 patio contractors prior to starting the project. The owner of Patio Works, Mark Sorensen, provided the nicest patio design for the space. All 3 quotes were very close to each other in cost, but I felt Mark's offered better quality (reinforced concrete footer for the wall vs crushed stone footer; natural stone wall vs paver wall). Mark was also the only one who suggested avoiding getting too close to some trees with the patio in order not to risk killing them. Based on all this feedback, we chose Patio Works to do the work and we are more than happy we did. Mark said it would take about 2 weeks (10 working days) and they finished on day 11, not counting one day when they could not work due to weather. There was a lot of work to be done -- the old deck had to be removed, including a pseudo-pergola attached to the roof of the house on one side. One medium sized tree also had to be removed. The area for the patio had a fairly big grade to it, so the patio has two levels but still a lot of work had to be done to level out the area. I was very impressed with Mark's wall builder as he did a fantastic job. Not only was the wall built on a reinforced concrete footer, but it is also two "columns" of natural stone in width rather than just one. The finished product looks great and after watching how they built it, I think it will be solid for a long time to come. Once the wall was built, it did not take long for the guys to get the pavers in for the patio. The patio looks terrific and I feel it was worth every penny. The wife, who can be very picky, is also very happy with the results. We will be hiring Patio Works again as we have another area where we need a retaining wall built and I will not hesitate to have Mark do that for us also.
Description of Work: Built a two level paver patio with sitting wall.

Mark Sorenson came at the appointed time to review and gather information for an initial proposal to install Pavestones in an enclosed courtyard. Other contractors made an issue and charged additional for working in the enclosed space, but Mark was fine with it. The new Pavestones and borders were installed exactly as planned and looked great, While mark's crew was here, I asked Mark to provide a proposal to remove the front sidewalk from the curb and replace it with Pavestones matching the new courtyard installation. During the work we found some problems with the house brickwork and Mark put new mortar in the affected areas without additional charge. He was onsite a number of times to monitor progress of his crew and I didn't have to take off work to stay with them. i am happy with the work performed and pleased with the results.

.Job went great. His guys were prompt, Mark came by several times to make sure everything was going good and me and my wife were happy. He didn't expect payment until job was complete
Description of Work: I had a small concrete slab out our back door, 3x5, and needed to expand. I got Mark's Name from a buddy who had some work done around his pool, patio and walkway. I came out, measured and gave me an esitmate, and had several different samples in his truck that my wife could look through. He dug out and leveled a 20x25 area, laid the pave stone over the concrete and expanded to the whole area. He put done a small border of concrete around the edge of the pavestone to keep them in place. It's been a few years since his work was done and it still looks great.
