Armando and his crew arrived promptly around 8 AM and began a two day job installing 13 piers and pouring new concrete in front of our door. His team worked hard and also made sure to leave our place as clean as they could despite the amount of work done.

Description of Work: I have no idea if they are good or not. When I called for an estimate the earliest they could schedule one was a good two months out. I understand being busy but I figured if it was two months for an estimate when there is no telling when they could schedule the actual work.

+ -1 moreThis was the second company we have had fix this foundation on this house. The first company didn't do a very good job. They took a stab 8 years ago and failed. We believe Olshan's did a much better job, as they added 36 piers (rather than the 18 the other company put in). Hopefully, their cable lock system will also make this foundation firm. It's been almost two months since they did the work and although I do realize we may not be able to tell for sure for several years, there has been no shifting. The tilting columns on the porch are no longer tilting. They were able to reduce the crack in the floor between the living room and dining room to 1". The floors are level and the doors close. Since Olshan offers a lifetime warranty on the foundation, I feel certain if a pier fails they will come and fix it. I am feeling positive that we can save this house.
Description of Work: Repaired pier and beam foundation on 1920s brick house. Damage to the foundation was very severe. One column on the porch was leaning about 5" off center. Several places in the house were 6" lower than they should be. No doors would close correctly and the floors sloped. The sheet rock on the walls was cracking. Outside bricks were cracked in many places, some places leaving a 4" gap. The living room had separated from the dining room and the floorboards had a 4" gap there as well. At the front of the house, the living room and porch was separating from the rest of the house and shifting forward, away from the foundation. Basically, the house was falling down. All who saw the house recommended to me to tear it down. However, this is one of the oldest brick faced houses in Denton County (some say THE oldest), as well as my childhood home, so I thought I would ask someone to try to save it.

+ -1 moreNot good. We called Olshan to give an estimate for foundation repair on a pier and beam house. They never went into the crawl space and told us the foundation settling was normal and did not need to be addressed in any way. After they left my husband went into the crawl space and found that there were four beams that were almost completely off the pier leaving the house unsupported.

+ -1 moreThe initial inspector was very knowledgeable and seemed to care about addressing our concerns. He took his time explaining the repair process. The price was lower than other estimates we had received and the solution was less invasive to our landscaping. We scheduled the service and the crew that came out was very professional and they were in and out repairs all complete by 2 pm. They cleaned up very well, left no mess behind which was nice.
Description of Work: We had 5 exterior pilings and 1 interior piling repair done.

+ -1 moreI have a couple complaints but I knew I would I just didn't have any other options. The production manager came at the end of the day to talk with the foreman to see how the job went and to ask me if I was pleased with the work. The people in charge were removed from the business. They did not fix all the problems, only about half. They offered to fix what they could n;t before for an additional $5,000. They did get rid of all the outside cracks in the brick, which looks great. I am having issues with the inside some doors will still not shut.

+ -1 moreI haven't noticed any problems with it since they repaired it. It was all cracked up and needed repairing, they came and worked quickly and got the job done. It looks really nice and neat now that they fixed it. The only thing I have to say is that I asked them if they knew of a carpet repair person and the people they gave me did not turn out well but they didn't force me into hiring them or anything, I was the one who asked them. That was my only complaint. I am happy with the work and everything else. They did an outstanding job.

EVERYONE IS PERSONABLE AND PROFESSIONAL FROM THE ENGINEER WHO DID THE ESTIMATE TO THE PERSON WHO CALLED ABOUT SOMETHING I WROTE ON A COMMENT CARD. AFTER RECEIVING 4 ESTIMATES WHICH HAD US NEEDING BETWEEN 11 AND 22 PIERS AND 2 OF THE OTHER COMPANIES SAYING WE NEEDED TO HAVE A ROOT BARRIER INSTALLED, WE WENT WITH OLSHAN. THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND THEIR PRICE WAS FAIR. WE ALSO TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE 0% 12 MO. FINANCING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WITHOUT HESITATION. BY THE WAY, THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE ROOT BARRIER WASNT NEEDED BECAUSE THE PIERS PREVENT ANY FUTURE PROBLEM FROM THE TREE THAT WAS IN QUESTION. THAT SAVED US $1000 BECAUSE WE WERE EXPECTING TO HAVE TO DO THAT.
Description of Work: INSTALLED 12 CABLELOOK PIERS TO AREAS OF THE HOUSE WITH ACTIVE MOVEMENT.
