Mr. Handyman of Dallas

These guys were very professional and showed up eactly on time. It took two men from the company to complete the work because the electrical problem was more involved than expected. I was very pleased with the work accomplished and will be calling them again in the future.

They were great and they did a fantastic job. It was really nice. They were prompt and they completed it pretty close to the estimated date. They were paid by the hour service. I liked the pricing structure and it was well worth the price.

I was displeased with the estimate given.

He had to take my guest bed apart to replace a support . My trash drawer wouldn't close, so he fixed that as well. He also cleaned gutters. He was wonderful. The office staff are great, as well. He was able to get everything done meticulously and I was very very pleased. I liked them so well that I asked them to help me with another project: he is going to help me this week with some old carpeting and removing staples from the floor.

The work turned out very well. They were very efficient, professional, and they did a good job. I felt I got the value for the money that I laid out.

I talked with the main office, and we agreed that it would probably take two handymen at least one full day to do the job. We agreed on the price. (Mr. Handyman is pricey, but it was worth it to us because we wanted any openings on the surface of our home to be sealed promptly.) The two arrived on the date and at the time we had agreed. They were very professional and began the job within a reasonable time after they arrived. By noon, they were still working on the first side of the house and left for lunch. When they still weren't back by 3:00, I called the main office to see what had happened. The woman answering the phone said that there had been an "emergency," so she had pulled the guys from our job to work on something else. We couldn't believe it. We told her that we regarded our job as an "emergency" because we didn't want any more bees in our house. Plus, she should have called us to tell us what she was doing, rather than pull the guys and say nothing about it. We told her that we didn't want them back. We then called someone else to finish the job, and he promised to be there the next day (which he was). The owner called later and offered to bring the two men back that evening to finish the job, but it was too late (the job could never had been done before dark), and they could not have finished the entire job that evening in any event. Plus, we had already given the rest of the job to someone else. The owner said he would not charge us for the half day that his guys had worked and later delivered beautiful flowers to the house. I'd like to think that our experience was primarily due to the lack of judgment of the woman in the main office who told the guys to go somewhere else and who never called us before she did that. The owner certainly tried to make things right, and we appreciated the fact that we weren't charged for the partial work. But the overall experience was not good, and next time, we'd rather try someone else.

This is the second time I have used these folks and in both cases was very satisfied with the quality of the work and cost.

The repairman was punctual, professional, and he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, this provider is expensive, and when he needed some metal sheetwork that he didn't keep in his truck, I had to pay for the time for him to go buy it. I was informed to this policy ahead of time. Everything was really well explained and above-board. This is a great service to use if you don't mind the price and if you know exactly what is going to be needed and can buy it ahead of time. (But if I had known exactly what was needed, I probably would have been able to do it myself.) This is also a good service to use when you have a variety of small tasks to be taken care of.

Our major concern was having this mirror hung. It was heavy (required two men) and had to go in just the right place. We wanted to be sure it was done correctly. The metal panels provided their own challenge. They were a good look, but not symmetrically made. It took skill to get them just right. The light fixture also required two men to install because of its length. It was all done correctly and looks great. After many years I learned trying to find the best price could cause much more and add much stress. I was happy to write the check because I knew it was done correctly and looked great.Every service has a value. The RULE says you will pay the price, one way or the other. Having it done correctly the first time is, in the long run, the least expensive.

Mr.Handyman is the first contractor that I have hired through Angie's List since I started my house improvement project. I hired them for exterior repair/improvement works. First of all, it's important to learn that Mr. Handyman is franchise business other than real national wide company. Every Mr. Handyman is owned and operated by individual owners. The Mr.Handyman office that you will be connected to is selected by your address zipcode. I discovered this fact by searching the propriate way to file my complaint / customer feedback and escalated my unsatisfaction to the Mr. Handyman Office ( 5930 LBJ Freeway #250, Dallas, Texas 75240) that I have been dealing with in the past 2 months. I started with high expectations but ended with very much frustration and disppointment. I have spent 5 weeks on trying to settle the final agreement and reasonable price that they have done on my house but not quoted in advance. Fairly speaking, their frontline technicians are generally good. They are polite, kind and work hard (my house work was performed in Aug, it was very hot weather). I do respect and appreciate their efforts a lot. I am generally happy with the quality, even there were small miss-out and redo needed. All my frustration and disppointment were with their in-house staff, even their management. Comparing to their frontline technicians, I personally believe that they do need to learn, understand, respect and appreciate both of their customers and their frontline employees better. My suggestions for other customers (that I have learned in hard way) will be: 1. Don't count on online customer review. Please must do more researchs before you make decision if it is to be major works. 2. The individual who will take care of your needs is more important comparing to the company. If you didn't have good feeling at the beginning, don't move forward and work with them. 3. Never pay the work by hourly rate. It was awful experiences that they will charge you at extremely high rate for clean-up, because it is hourly rate!!! 4. If you are not at the position to be present at job site from the beginning to the end, don't sign their Service Log because they will charge you in full. In simple words, I will not use this Mr.Handyman office any more for sure. And I will not recommend this office to anyone else for sure.

Baby on the way and honey-do list was not going to be completed! Called to get someone out for estimate, but they explained that they charge by the hour +any materials bought(a little weird). I was given a rough estimate for jobs required, so agreed. Fred showed up on time was courteous and unobtrusive to my pregnant wife working from home, and even waited till I got home to show me what had been done. Work was done quickly, professionally, and pretty close to quote given. Tried to use an independent handyman but he took to long to get back to me. I don't care if they are a franchise, I'll use Mr. Handyman again!

They had issues with trying to get the faucet replaced and they had to call a licensed plumber to come out to finish the job at their expense.

The quality of the work was good and the guy they sent out was great, a very nice gentleman. Their prices were competitive.

They arrived on time, they were very friendly and did what they said they were going to do.

I was pleased with the work he did the first time so I called them again for this job. They came early and I left them in my home while they did the work. They cleaned up after themselves nicely.

They did a good job of replacing the siding. They left the site in good condition and they matched it up pretty good. I am pleased with the work.

They do not like to give to estimates, that would be more customer service oriented if they would.

They were wonderful to work with and they solved my problems.

They sent one guy out and he was having some problems fixing the shower head so they sent out another guy and he was just fine. He was very competent and polite and he did the work quickly.

The job on the doors was a quoted one. The fascia and soffit jobs were paid for on an hourly basis. I dealt only with the people who came out to do the work and they were very responsive. I will be using this company in the future.

It was a very good experience. The gentelman was extremely professional, nice, punctual and didn't try to oversell me on what I needed for plumbing to be fixed. It was great to get 'the list' done in one trip.
