It went very well. I was worried that the foam would leave a smell in the house. This is not the type of foam insulation that was put in trailer homes a few years ago, aka the Kitrana trailer house diaster. However there are a few downsides. The first is the cost. It cost us $9,000 to have all of the external areas of my 3,200 square ft house. The other probem is that if you have wood on the outside of your house they will have to drill selective holes in the wood fill in the insulation and then plug the holes. These holes will have to be painted. This is an added expense. It was not problem for us, because we were going to paint anyway. But of all the things i have tried to insulate my 22 year old Centex house, and trust me I have tried everything, I believe the is going to be the best by far.
Description of Work: This is an insulation service that provides resin base very safe foam insulation to the walls of existing homes. It really is an amazing insulation product that has been around since the 60's It has all the EPA approvals and has a long track record as insulation used in buildings. It is now available thru one service company for all of North Texas. You really need to look at their website to see how it is done. The short verison, as it relates to my house is that they carefully drilled holes in the seams between the brick in my mostly brick walls on a two story house. It takes many holes, because the foam is mixed and then blown into the walls. Once it done the holes are plugged and cannot be seen after the cement mix dries. It took two and one half days to finish our house. The result as it relates to sound is amazing, It must eliminate at least 80 of the outside noise. I have not received a electric bill yet, but I have noticed that the AC is off a lot of the time now, when before it be running full blast. This observation has held true during this long stretch of 100 degree heat, The owner and his crew were very professional, on time, told exactly what they were doing, cleaned up after their work each day
