The chandelier work turned out to be more extensive than expected. The previous light fixture was evidently a do-it-yourself installation by a previous owner and had been hard-wired into the wiring system in the attic. There was no junction box or real support for the existing light fixture! Metroplex installed a junction box, and hung the chandelier in (what seemed to me) very short order. There was no extra charge for this work. The ceiling fan in the bedroom also appeared to be a do-it-yourself installation, and when you turned on the fan, the light would flicker. There was a loose wire, which Metroplex fixed for no extra charge as well.

Could not have gone better. Mr. Montgomery and his assistant arrived on time (actually, a few minutes early), carefully examined the existing set up, then explained every step of the process to me and the reason the steps were being taken. For instance, why the existing box and wiring had to be taken out. The previous lighting fixture had been installed in a very amateurish, non-code way. They asked for an old blanket or sheet to put down on my hardwood floors to protect them during the work. There was quite a bit of plaster that had to be cut out and taken down in order to mount the new light fixture properly. They insisted on cleaning up afterward even though there was little to clean up that wasn't on the sheet. The price was more than fair for the amount of work done. I'm already planning some additional work for them to do for me.
