For 22 months, Mess Masters has taken care of our home. As a mom with a newborn, I really needed the extra help! Every other week, Maria came and cleaned our home. I looked at several different services before choosing Mess Masters. A big part of the reason I went with Sara and her team is the eco-friendly cleaning supplies they use. For myself and my child, not using harsh chemicals is an important thing. Maria took care of everything. Kitchen, floors, dusting, sheets and towels washed, and even cleaning our leather furniture. Sara routinely checks on how things are going and to see if there is anything that needs attention. I really appreciate that extra mile of attention! I would recommend Mess Masters to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and all around excellent cleaning service.
Description of Work: Routinely cleans our entire house: floors scrubbed, kitchen done, vacuuming, dusting, sheets and towels washed.

I started using Mess Masters a couple of years ago, and I wish I'd started ten years ago. I was very resistant to having someone clean my house for several reasons. First, I feel guilty having someone else clean my house even if I am paying them. I feel this way about other services, too, like pedicures. It also makes me feel weird to have someone I don't know in my house. Finally, I didn't like paying someone to do something for me that I could easily do myself. It felt wasteful. EVEN THOUGH I AM LAZY AND NOT GOOD AT CLEANING. We have been using Mess Masters for over two years. Mess Masters is owned by Sara. She came to our house and gave an estimate and explained how everything would work. They use natural, eco-safe products and require you to provide some of the supplies. They have several different options for cleaning. It's not cheap, but I don't think it's expensive either. The price depends on how often you clean and how big your house is. Also, they do one deep clean the first time since you probably don't clean as well as they do. I have never lived in a place as clean as my house after Maria cleans it. Maria is the best, and she is also very nice. She does little extra things sometimes and surprises us. This just makes me happy. I still feel guilty, but the guilt is less when I walk around my hard wood floors and I don't have pieces of dirt sticking to my feet. The floors are so clean they squeak! I love Mess Masters; they are very easy to work with and do a fantastic job. Unfortunately, Mess Masters does not currently clean north of 635 or in high rise buildings. You might want to move so you can use them!

We moved here from another state in May 2012 due to work and needed a deep cleaning for our new rental home prior to us arriving and our movers arriving in Dallas, Texas. There were a lot of logisitcal issues and Mess Masters owner, Sara Anderson, went above and beyond to help us arrive to a nice clean home. For instance, she picked up the house key at our realtor's office and went in and took photos of the house so that we would have proof of the condition the home was in when it was entrusted to our care. She put them on a CD-Rom and gave them to us upon our arrival in Dallas. Her cleaners did a phenomenal job of cleaning our house and everything went without a hitch. The owner, again, went out of her way to meet us when we arrived in Texas to give us our keys and to obtain payment. I was so very pleased with their services and decided to have them come regularly to clean our home. I also might add that I love the products they use which are environmentally friendly and all natural. They are safe for my small boys who are constantly playing on our hardwood floors. I also purchase their all natural lavendar air spray.

We hired Mess Masters to clean our home weekly. Like other cleaning companies, they prefer to start with an initial deep cleaning, and then provide ongoing services. Their prices are higher than most, but they promise to adhere to a long checklist, thoroughly clean the home, and to use natural products. Homeowners - be skeptical. They over-promise, and under-deliver. Mess Masters provided services to us for 18 months. During that time, a pattern emerged: Mess Masters would have a team do the initial deep cleaning. A cleaner would be assigned to our house. At first, the cleaner would seem to do a good job. Then, as the weeks passed, the cleaner would spend less time at our house and begin skipping items. If/when we noted deficiencies, the owner would and quot;overseeand quot; the work the following week to resolve the issue. Repeat. If we complained frequently, the cleaner would be replaced. Repeat process. Mess Masters frequently blamed either the cleaner for skipping items, or us for being too messy. (Yes, really!) I have a folder of emails from them asking us to do things differently at our home (e.g., purchase baskets for organization so that the cleaner would not need to move items to wipe a surface). We are disorganized...but their company name is Mess Masters....and we wouldn't hire a cleaning company if we didn't need help! Looking back, I have now realized that the owner was constantly pushing the cleaners to work faster, and likely directing them to skip items when she did not believe it would be noticeable to us, the homeowners. After I began noting deficiencies/skipped items almost weekly, the owner let me know that they would need to increase their prices. This is after they quoted us a price for a weekly cleaning that was to include the whole house, but had never been required to clean two rooms that we were not using because we had just moved in and hadn't fully unpacked. At that point, I finally reacted to the constant emails from Mess Masters asking us to make changes in our home, in spite of them constantly not performing the services on their own checklist, asking them to either quote us the correct price and fully clean our home, without complaint (this is a cleaning service - not rocket science), or to move on. They opted to move on, and suggested that we contact a domestic placement agency for a housekeeper. I ignored Mess Masters' suggestion to hire a housekeeper, and instead hired another cleaning company I found on Angie's List. After three months, I am pleased to report the other company is: cheaper; faster; more thorough; and does not complain about our home or habits. We have had one lady clean our home weekly, the same as the service we were receiving from Mess Masters, for $40 less than what we were paying Mess Masters each week, and have been so much happier with the owner of the company we are now using and her staff. I wish I had moved on to another service provider much sooner.
Description of Work: Mess Masters cleaned our home weekly for approximately 18 months, and performed 2 initial "deep clean" services (on 2 different homes) during that time. Cleaning services were supposed to always include a 31 point checklist, per their website and their statements about their services.

Mess Masters always appreciates feedback from our clients. In fact, we pride ourselves in the level of excellent customer service that we have been able to provide our customers for over 21 years. We are very sorry that we were not able to meet the needs of this client. In this situation, for over a year, this client stated several times in emails and phone calls that she was pleased with her cleaner and our services. There were a few instances where she would request that a task be improved, and we would immediately address the issue and check back in with her to make sure that she was pleased. However, as we checked the home, we realized on several occasions that this client expected more than she had originally requested in the initial estimate. In fact, when we performed the initial estimate, where we walked through each room of her house and took detailed notes, the house was very tidy and organized; however, upon returning to the home during routine checks, we realized that the client’s expectations had greatly changed. However, we continued to clean this client’s home with the added duties without raising her price. We did inform the client that if she needed to continue leaving a kitchen full of dirty dishes, most of them needing to be hand-washed due to food being left on them, we would need to increase her price so that the cleaner would be fairly compensated for her extra time. When the client moved to a much larger home after having used our services for over a year, we did speak with her about switching her cleaner and she agreed that would be the best situation. We came and did another detailed estimate of the new, larger home, and we very clearly communicated to her what services we offered for the price that was quoted. (105.00 for downstairs one week and 135.00 for whole house the next week, plus tax. We are always willing to add certain services for additional costs, but the client did not want to add the extra money to her weekly rate. After several attempts to communicate to this client that she was continuing to exceed the expectations that were agreed upon, she continued to ignore our requests. Yes, we suggested the client get a small basket for her bathroom counter so that our cleaner could actually get to the counter surface in order to clean it. We thought it would be taken as a helpful suggestion. We are sorry our intentions were not communicated more clearly. Overall, I feel like we had an ongoing miscommunication issue with this client, and we are sorry that it did not work out better in the end. We do realize that we may not be the service for everyone and that is why we let her go and suggested she find an individual through an agency that could better meet her needs.

I had requested a quote for housecleaning last year, but had not actually made a decision. I was quoted $ 160 + tax for first cleaning [$144 after 10% Angie's Discount] and $95 + tax to do a once a month cleaning. In April I asked for an updated quote, and was told for monthly cleaning it would be about $105 + tax. This was higher than other quotes I had gotten. Therefore I chose another service.

Hello, We wish we had had an opportunity to talk with the member about her concern over the slight increase in price before she wrote a report. We are always happy to work with our clients. We do not feel that in increase of 10.00 for a monthly cleaning is excessive since it has been a year since her original estimate. We certainly hope she is happy with her current cleaning service, but if not, we will honor the original quote of 160.00 plus tax for a first, deep cleaning and 95.00 plus tax for monthly cleaning (barring any major changes in the cleaning needs since we last saw the home a year ago). If she has any further questions or concerns, we hope she will contact us. I do feel it is unfair to give a report on our services and give us a B rating when she never used our service and did not contact us with her concern about the small increase in price. We had a very pleasant meeting in her home a year ago and I spent time taking notes and then following up with a written estimate. When I was contacted by email recently, again I sent her a friendly reply back with the estimate. I feel I have done everything in the most courteous and professional way possible. Thank you, Sara Anderson, Owner, Mess Masters

I think the price is a little high when measured against the amount of time spent and the service we have used before. They are very good. I don't have any complaints about them. They are thorough and detail-oriented.

Sara, took the trouble to come out and view the house first, and gave us a bid. She took detailed notes as to our expectations and even noted the pets names. She had two ladies come for the initial cleaning, and she accompanied them. Introduced everyone. She treated us with care and consideration and her housecleaners with respect. She went over every detail, with the ladies, that she had noted, from our earlier meeting. After the first cleaning, she checked in with us via email, left us a professional and kind note, and made extra sure we were pleased. She is always accessible and eager to please.

I couldn't be more pleased with their service. They are thorough, punctual, conscientious, and responsive. They clean my house the way I would clean it myself, which is something I didn't think possible and certainly never saw with any cleaning service I've used before. My bedcovers are neatly tucked and symmetrical, my hard floors streak-free. Dust is gone, my carpet looks like new, everything shines, and even my husband notices how good the place smells. I thought that tolerating a house that was always slightly dirty just came with the territory of hiring people in rather than doing my own cleaning. Not so with Mess Masters! From the first time I met Sara, I found her a good communicator who understood my concerns almost intuitively and responded appropriately. Sara also maintains an e-mail address where customers can contact her and responds quickly -- a big plus for people without a lot of time to make calls and play phone tag. Not only does she keep the lines of communication open, but she actually solicits feedback if she hasn't heard from me in a while. Some cleaning services seem to look for any excuse not to provide the level of service the customer wants. Example: "We don't clean up after pets, so that means we can't pull the cat litter box out from the wall to sweep behind it." Not so with Sara. She doesn't clean up after pets, either (no service does), but her employees know the difference between mopping up a yellow puddle and simply giving a dusty floor a complete cleaning. So, for about $5 more a visit than I paid for sub-par, one-size-fits-all service from Merry Maids (which I also have reviewed here), I'm getting first-class, customized treatment from Mess Masters.
Description of Work: Mess Masters has been cleaning my house every 2 weeks for about 4 months. They vacuum carpets, sweep & mop hard floors, clean kitchen fixtures, clean bath fixtures, change sheets, wash sheets & towels, and dust. They use some of their own equipment and supplies, and some of mine -- as agreed when we set up my service.
