LOCK'S POOL SERVICE

I called, got the voicemail and left a message stating that I needed pool maintenance service. I did not get a call back, instead I received a text message that read "not interested" "but thanks for asking". I replied asking 'who is this?' and got a text back- "locks pool service responding to your telephone call ie message". No other communication was received. Apparently Locks does not want or need any new business- very unprofessional.

Every experience has been great.

The lid on our filter pot would not open and broke when we tried using a mallet to force it open. Lock's responded to our call on a Sunday evening. He remembered working on our pool 3 years ago and arrived bright and early on Tuesday morning with a replacement part. Great service!

I talked to a guy a name Ken with Locks Pool services. Locks location is Oram st. This Company is 4 miles from my home. I told him a have 14 seat in ground spa with a rolling spa. Just like you would see at a major hotel. Ken asked where I lived I told him Ferguson Rd. and 30 next to Tenison Golf course. He told me he doesn't cover that area. I told him his street Oram was 4 miles from me. He told me he doesn't cover that area and to call someone else. Then it all made sense. I guess he didn't want to come to my gated community and make money. I guess we're to close to the HOOD!

Ken is reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. We discuss our latest problem with him and then leave the gate open when we know he's coming. He fixes the problem always, and sometimes identifies issues that may become problems. Ken is not the cheapest in town, but he is well worth it.

We had a lot of gunk in our pool so we decided the filters needed some attention. He could not give us an exact date but he said he would be out by Monday and he came on Saturday, 2 days earlier. He cleaned out the filters and also showed me how the filter towers were tearing away from the structure and they neeed replacing, so he he will be out later to replace those. He also showed me how to lubricate another piece on the system and even left me a tube of the lubrication. He is a nice guy, does a good job and really seems to know the workings of a pool.....

Great work as always. Very trustworthy and knows what he is doing.

I called Mr. Lock on a Friday morning. He came by that afternoon and was able to quickly diagnose the problem and have repairs completed by the next day. He obviously is an expert on pool equipment and I appreciated that he was willing to come out on a Saturday afternoon to finish the job.

He is excellent – he is just a pool expert. He is extremely thorough, always punctual and tries to take care of the things as quickly as possible. I just cannot say enough good things about him. He is not the cheapest around, but his quality of service is excellent.

Light repair was just fine. The problems started AFTER that when I scheduled a secondary appointment for tile repair.

Ken came out to the house right on time. He inspected the entire filtration system before starting any repairs. He then took apart the backflow valve/plunger and lubricated it (gave me the tube of lubricant) and performed a backflow on the system. He also asked, and installed after I gave the OK, if I wanted him to install skimmer weir flaps, which work great. He also stayed awhile and explained the entire workings of the filtration and heater systems (this is my first pool) and the proper usage of chemicals. The next day I had a small, unrelated problem with the pool which he diagnosed and provided the fix for over the phone. Ken provides great service and is very knowledgeable. Will not hesitate to use him again!

I called them and he came out. I wasn't able to be here but he came anyway. He mailed me an invoice and I paid him. Smooth as butter.

Mr. Lock was on time and thorough with his explanations about pool operation. He showed my husband and I how to backwash, lube some o-rings and explained how to test for and maintain the chemistry. He told us how often to run the polaris, the main pump system and how often to brush down the sides. Mr. Lock also supplied us with a new (and better) water testing kit. He was professional and seemed to really know his trade. Our pump is almost 30-years-old but he was intimately familiar with its workings. The whole process took about 1.5hrs. I will definitely hire him in the future.

I would use this company if I lived in the area of which he serves. He answered the phone himself and I appreciate not being diverted to a phone mail/message recorder. He was polite and apologized for not being able to service my area. I found it refreshing that he was honest and informed me that he sticks to an established perimeter. Ken responded to our call promptly and showed up right on time for our scheduled appointment. He spent one hour with us going over each system component and replaced some minor parts while he was there. He also provided a detailed list of necessary vs elective upgrades. We have had 3 other pool companies on site and Ken was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful.

He stated that plano is too far from Dallas. You should amend this profile to state Dallas county only.

Overall this project went very well. Ken (the owner) was very responsive and was able to fix my problem quickly. He did need to come back as one of the leaks was not fixed and he did so for no charge. After a few days of completing the job he called ME to follow up. Class act from start to finish.

Had a great experience with Ken once again. He spent a great deal of time trying to diagnose the problem with our existing heater and actually replaced two parts to try to keep it alive for a few more years. Despite these efforts Ken found a fatal flaw in the current heater after installing the new parts. Ken spent quite some time coming to his conclusion, but ultimately only charged us for two hours of his time. On top of this he took back the parts he'd ordered on our behalf. He then selected the new heater for us and installed it. Ken is the only person I would trust for major pool equip repairs. He actually gives seminars to other pool pros, so he's as knowledgeable as they come. Would highly recommend to anyone needing advanced pool help.

Ken was very honest about how much it would cost to get a cover made, get the spa heater in working order, and get the jet unclogged. He was also very upfront about the fact that since the spa is so old and many parts to it are no longer available, it still might not work the way I wanted it to when he was done. This was the conversation I needed. After hearing it would cost $1,000 to possibly fix a spa I didn't plan on using very often, I was able to decide that the spa needed to be removed rather than repaired. Ken was extremely knowledgeable about pools and spas and all the parts needed for them. This was the estimate I needed to make an informed decision. I offered to pay him a trip fee, but he said no, since I had just asked for an estimate.

Ken Lock is the owner of this company, and is the one who came out to do this work. He is a pleasant man and did a great job. He also took a lot of time teaching me how to operate and clean both the pool and the spa to save me future problems. I am very happy with the work performed and would highly recommend him. His prices are a bit higher than some others, but he is well worth the cost.

The water was not circulating in our pool at all and when we called Lock's Pool Service, we thought we needed a new pump. They saved us a ton of money by being able to do the repair instead and easily could have said we needed the pump after all. The gentleman even took a lot of time teaching me how to properly turn on the valves to the filter and other general pool maintenance information. I highly recommend these honest people.

Called for a service call to Irving. (which is central to the Dallas area and right next door to the DFW Metro Airport; Told me, "I don't go out there". Asked, "Can you recommend someone who services Irving?" Reply was, "ahhh,...no". Not very professional. Also I've never had a problem getting any other contractor to come to Irving from as far away as Fort Worth to take hundreds of dollars from me. Sorry guy, you lose.

He was prompt, inexpensive, and nailed the problem on the head. When it reoccurred (through my error), he came again at no extra charge. Real old fashioned service.

When he returned the call I found him very abrupt and disinterested. I was trying explain my situation, type of pool and needs. He answered before I could continue or get the full question out. When he quoted $105 for one hour to vacuum I advised that my other pool guy, while hard to get a hold of, charges quite a bit less than that. I was going to qualify with, let's see what else we can do for that hour and decide at that time to work with him. He abruptly and rudely said "Well call him then" and HUNG UP. He is outrageously priced, no matter the quality of work, and rude to new and potential customers. I will not recommend him every chance and outlet I get. It's not being able to afford him or use his services that bothers me, it's his rude attitude and pretentious air. And I can afford him, but refuse to give my hard earned dollars to someone who acts like that!

Ken was awesome. I have never owned a pool before. He answered every question I had about my pool. I thought some of my questions might be dumb and he assured me the only dumb question is the one that is not asked. I had a previous experience with a pool company that was less than desirable. I felt that Ken genuinely cared about his work and would continue answering questions until I was satisfied. BTW, he did not charge me for answering questions. He also volunteered many pointers that would help me avoid problems. And, he gave me a cup so I could measure my DE after backwashing the pool. And, he gave me a tube of lubricant for a gasket. Anytime I need pool service in the future I am calling him.
