Lindsey’s does a great job!

Simply put, it was good work, but I don't like how it was handled. I had originally submitted a request on their website and never heard back, so I followed up with a call. The person I spoke with apologized for not getting it and said that sometimes they receive the online requests, sometimes they don't. Anyways, I told them to come out there and give me an estimate for everything and mentioned a few specific items I wanted to make sure they included. I got the estimate the next day ($800) and it only included two items (from the list of items they performed for me, they left a number of things off). So I called them up the next day and mentioned all these other items they left off and they came back out to get me another estimate ($1,250). I thought for $1,250 ($450 more than the first) that it was a pretty good deal for everything that I needed done and I called them the next day and got them scheduled. The estimate is actually labeled as a "contract - proposal" and I was going to sign and scan in, but they told me that wasn't necessary. They came out on time and got everything cut and trimmed (with the exception of a few branches that were missed between the neighbor's house; not enough to raise a fuss about) and was quite happy with how everything looked. It was to my surprise, and this is where my displeasure comes from, when I later received an invoice for $2,050 plus tax. I called up Tom Lindsey and explained that I was confused by the higher amount and he told me that it was two separate estimates and that I needed to add them together. The handwriting on the estimates are hard to read and it was never explained that they were two separate estimates (why they couldn't add the total from the other estimate and show a grand total on the new estimate is beyond me). I explained my confusion further and that I had tried to sign and was going to send the contract proposal for what I wanted done, and he said that they hardly ever receive those. So the one document that I was going to send in that showed just the $1,250 that would have cleared up this mess before it started, I was told not to by his Company. I'm not going to say that I still wouldn't have ended up going with them at the $2,050, but I would have gotten more than the two estimates that I had, andit would have been nice to know going in how much it was going to be and not surprised later. Tom could have taken a couple hundred off the total as compensation for the mix up, but I could tell from his tone that he didn't care and all he wanted was his money for this service, whether or not it jeopardized any future service. Just make sure you know what you are agreeing to before telling them to come out.

Claudia in the office was very responsive, and Tom Lindsey came by within the hour after our call to assess the damage and provide a quote for service. The crew came by shortly after noon and took care of the limbs. They were very responsible, courteous, and professional, and handled it all safely.

They were recommended by a neighbor of mine. The only reason I used them was because my neighbor's tree branches were falling on my powerline, so they finally agreed to cut it down. On a subsequent job that I needed to do I liked them, they were professional and so forth, so I decided to go with them again and they trimmed a tree for me. The work I had done was relatively cheap and wasn't that much. They did a good job.

Everything was handled in a professional manner, on time, and cleaned up all debris.

Very prompt, professional and I will continue to use them.

Tom Lindsey was very responsive to our request for a quote. Due to a recent storm that left many trees damaged, it was 2 weeks before the job could begin (totally reasonable). The crew showed up on the scheduled date, right on time. They worked efficiently, and finished well before the 4-5 hour estimate. They cut down a 60 year old cottonwood tree (huge). All branches were removed and chipped into mulch we are using for other projects. We also requested they cut 4 large sections from the trunk for us to make chairs. They gave us a bonus section--a perfect table with a smooth top. They ground out the stump, and cleaned up after they finished. I highly recommend Lindsey's for professionalism, price, promptness and pride in their work.

I called for an estimate and Tom showed up when he said he would show up. I wanted to point out several things instead of just having them leave an estimate in my mailbox. The estimate was fair and again showed up when they said they would and did a wonderful job. The two sixty year old red oaks in my front yard were very overgrown and branches were so heavy they were bending and breaking. They did an outstanding job of making them look nice(not butchered at all). I was not home when they did all the work but according to my neighbors, they were on my roof to reach all the branches and just did a great job. They also removed 5 crepe myrtles that had been crepe murdered over the years. They were in terrible shape and had to go. They ground the stumps of all of them, and removed one other shrub that was half dead. They also removed a giant live oak that I loved dearly but it was too close to my fence and the power lines. They ground the stump on the live oak too. I would definitely use them again without hesitation.

All went well. They removed the trees in the front and back yard and left no mess. They also ground the stumps below ground level. They were quick and efficient with the removal. We late had them provide another quote on a limb removal for a tree crossing over our property line, but didn't engage Lindsey because our neighbor took care of the issue. Should we need additional tree servicing done, we will call on Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey was very timely on his quote and doing the work. His staff answering the phones was always very courteous, friendly and helpful. The work was performed and trees and their stumps removed as quoted. They did knock out of place some landscaping bricks on several trees. Also by the fence entrance to the back yard they had to removed some bricks to get their equipment into the yard and just left them in the grass. My main complaint about Mr. Lindsey was how he spoke to me over the phone. I had understood that the crew would not be out to perform the work if it had rained the previous day. I think what the staff member really had said that they would not perform work while it was raining. During the quote, Mr. Lindsey was adamant that I clean the back yard from the dropping from my three dogs. I agreed to clean the yard but with the misunderstanding of the date the work was going to be done the yard was not cleaned the day the crew arrived. That day I got a phone call from Mr. Lindsey where he was extremely upset and let me know it by saying "I am not going to work in that sh*t . . . " and told me "Whatever" when I tried to explain him the mixup with the scheduling date. I can understand him being upset and it was my fault for not cleaning the yard and his staff's fault for not confirming the day before that the crew would be working the next day. But to basically yell and berate me over the phone is unacceptable behavior and customer service. To his credit, he did reschedule to finish the job without any extra charges and the work was done in a timely manner.

Our call for an estimate was promptly returned and the owner was out the following day to do the estimate. We had a few other estimates done and the prices were all in the same ballpark. Since we have used Lindsey before and had had a good experience, we decided to go with them again. The crew showed up at the time promised and the owner was there to get them started. The work was done without disruption and the owner showed up again during the day to see how things were going. They cleaned up all debris and left the yard free of limbs and leaves. I would not hesitate to use Lindsey again.

Called for an estimate - they left one in my mailbox the day after I called. No extra charges or surpasses; service was exactly as promised.

Called for a quote and Mr. Lindsey came the next day and provided a free estimate for services. I did not seek out quotes from other companies as previous reviewers indicated that quotes were comparable to other companies. A couple weeks later I contacted Lindsey Tree Service to hire them for service. They said that they were booked for the remainder of that week and would be able to come out the next week, which was fine with me. They called back later in the week and said that they would be able to come on Saturday and asked if I would like to receive a call before they arrived, in case I wanted to be present. They arrived on Saturday at the estimated time given and completed the work listed, quickly, efficiently, and professionally. The stump grinding took place at the time of tree removal and they even ground an old stump nearby that wasn't part of the estimate, for no additional cost, which I really appreciated! The bill arrived the next week for the price that was agreed upon.

They did an excellent job. They were on time. They cleaned up after themselves properly. They charged the price quoted and followed through on every detail of the job. They cut the oak tree into firewood and stacked it up in backyard for me. Everyone else was estimating a 1,000.00 job. The price was unbelivably reasonable.

It is the gentleman's last name. They are very personable, reliable, and quick. It went very well. Mr. Lindsey comes over first and discusses the job. He recommends things but does what you want if you want something different from his recommendations. I enjoy his services.

Mr. Lindsey is very knowledgeable about trees, and his crew seemed experienced and professional. Instead of just leaving the debris on the street for the city to pick up, they ran most of the branches through a chipper and hauled the rest away. They left my yard spotless, and charged less than a competing service that wouldn't have hauled away the trimmings.

During the February 2010 snowstorm, two enormous trees on my street were uprooted and fell across the street, blocking several neighbors from leaving their homes. A "helpful" neighbor cut up one of the trees so we could get out, but he piled all the tree trunks and limbs in front of my house. Normally that would have been okay, but I was about to list my house for sale and didn't want the property to look like a war zone. I called Lindsey's and he gave me an acceptable bid but said he wouldn't be able to come out until the following week. Instead of waiting, they managed to fit it in their schedule and cut and haul away the limbs the next day.....put the house on the market, and it sold within a month. Lindsey's did a great job for me.

This was an excellent experience. I was very impressed with Tom Lindsey and his operation. He came out to give me the initial estimate and was punctual, friendly, and he understood what we needed right away. Then he arrived with the team on the day we agreed (although not exactly the time we agreed on, he was late -- but he called to tell me). I added a tree to the original estimate and we quickly negotiated the new rate which was very reasonable. He introduced me to the team leader because he was not going to stay. They immediately went to work. The work was done quickly and they cleaned up well and were out of there before I expected (just a few hours.) The trees look great and they left me some good firewood which I requested. I would happily use this company again if I needed trees trimmed.

We had an old Cedar Elm tree that was growing out of our patio area, it was growing in such a way that it was 1/2 inch from our gutter and 95% of the tree was growing over roof - great for shade, but a high risk when a storm were to ever blow it over, so we've had this on our to do list for a while. Since the job would entail a careful hand of cutting and lowering the limbs that were above our roof, I searched several companies on Angies List that had this type of experience knowing that I would be paying more than the guys that knock on your door every other month wanting to trim your trees. I received several quotes and Lindsey's was very competitive and I was impressed with Tom's approach and experience of his team. Tom and his crew arrived on time, 7:30am on a Friday morning, and we walked the yard with his supervisor to ensure there were no issues on the work to be done. After that, it was about 3 hours of solid work and the 4 man team had our large tree completely gone. I watched them at different stages and it was pretty awesome to see how talented they were - they never hit the roof with any of the large limbs they were cutting - they use various ropes and techniques to prohibit the limbs from falling when they are cut. They would throw them down in my yard and then off to the shredder it would go. Then Tom returned with the stump grinder and that was done in 20 mins or so. The whole experience was great and I would not hesitate to use them again - nice work all the way around!

I rec'd a quote from at least 5 different companies for the same job. Lindsey's was not the cheapest, but they were also far from the most expensive. It was a lot of money, but I felt it was a good deal compared to the other quotes...and it had to be done. Their storefront(they sell firewood too)is down the street from me and I see their trucks in the neighborhood all the time, so I felt confident they would do a good job. Once the team got started, the manager left for a while. If you are concerned about certain branches not being touched, then you need to tell the manager before he leaves. The guys doing the work don't speak English well, and may go too far in the trimming. After the trimming was finished, the manager came back with the stump grinder while the other guys picked up every little branch and piece of wood. It took about 4 hours from beginning to end. I was very pleased with the work.

THEY ARRIVED ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE JOB ON SCHEDULE. THEY HAULED AWAY ALL OF THE BRANCHES AND CLEANED UP THE YARD.
