I contacted KJ&M Glass Work to discuss replacing a bedroom window. The contact was made after hours and I received a response immediately. The quote was made after looking at the job. The estimate and the overall visit was excellent. My project will not be scheduled until after the first of the year.

Great. A supervisor came to our house to see exactly what we wanted and to draw up the order. The glass was ready exactly as promised, and the installation was completed in less than one day. The crew (whom we had worked with in the past) arrived on time, did everything perfectly and cleaned up after the work was done. We love the new glass. It makes a big difference in reducing the heat in our home.

Two of 20 front exposure windows are not a standard shape window - not even when combining two standard shapes, which is what most "custom-shape" vendors do. J & M Website stated they did special custom shapes - that they excelled at it. When I called the company, the secretary put me on hold to check with the owner. I sent pics. They responded that they could not make the special-shaped windows. I posted that their website was misleading. The owner sent a message to contact him that they did do special shapes - hmm I thought she asked the owner - said his name was Martin. At that time I was working with three other vendors, so to be fair to Martin, I didn't call again. Alas, those vendors have not panned out either - seems fabricating custom shapes is not worth the trouble or involves a skill set and product that existed in 2000 but is a not easily found in 2016.

WOW, what an incredible difference having great new Thermal Windows from J&M Glass Company installed in our home has made to its look and energy efficiency! When we purchased our current home, it still had the 51 original 32 year old bronze colored aluminum windows. Of the 51 windows, 8 were large panel atrium windows 4 of which matched the roofline, which is now the ?wow factor? of our home. Where other companies were not willing or capable of manufacturing or replacing the atrium, J&M was. They manufactured all of our custom vinyl thermal replacement windows and all new atrium window aluminum framing to match. Our experience with J&M Glass was outstanding from start to finish! Throughout the process from ordering, scheduling and installation they did a great job communicating with us. Martin, the company owner even took the time to be onsite during installation to ensure we were happy and everything went smoothly. I can?t begin to describe the visual impact these windows have made to our home. It is truly amazing! Honestly, we can?t stop looking at them and admiring the change they?ve made. In addition, we?ve already seen a 40% reduction in our daily electric consumption! After obtaining bids from other window contractors, Thermal Windows clearly provided the highest quality at a reasonable price. They listen to their customers to provide the absolute best options custom made to their needs and desires. They were professional, timely, and efficient from the initial appointment to the final installation. My home has a new updated look and I've already had positive comments from the neighbors. The house is amazingly quieter and cooler. I've invested a lot of money in my home but this was by far the best investment I've made. Thank you Thermal Windows for a job well done!

May 2015. Buyer Beware and do your due diligence before using J&M Glass Company (Thermal Windows). We contracted with J&M for replacing five casement windows and a large sliding glass door. There were three major issues that we encountered with J&M that others should be aware of before deciding to use this company. 1) The LowE glass used is highly reflective at night (no matter how we changed our lighting) and you cannot see out of the glass. Best way to describe is that you are looking at a blue/green two-way mirror. The contract I signed said “clear” and I didn’t ask for a sample ahead of time so don’t assume “clear” means clear. Lastly, one the glass one piece in the windows did not match the others. 2) The install was not completed in a professional manner and had to be re-installed. During the first installation they left the old window hardware which should have been removed. The door also had to be re-installed for a nicer look. After the second installation the windows were not tested by the installers and the opening mechanism did not properly function. I gave up and cut my loses, wrote a check and told them not to come back out. 3) J&M is only concerned about making a dollar and not making their customers happy. I talked repeatedly via phone and email to Martin Gates, the president of the company, where the conversations went from attempting to fix the situation to threatening legal action against me if I didn’t pay. I asked Martin on several occasions to inspect the work his company did but he refused. The company was not concerned about the quality of work or happiness of their customers. I have had other companies in the Dallas area as we are getting these windows and door replaced. The other companies were shocked by the lack of quality on the install and the reflective glass used on a residential property. I since have contracted with another company who brought out samples, referred me to a previous job site to inspect the quality of work and product before moving forward. There are much better places that offer quality work for the same price as J&M. Please do your research before deciding to use the company.

They were awesome! The windows are beautiful and exactly what we were wanting. They installation was done and the house was left clean. They were very professional and spent the time with us we needed to answer any questions or concerns.

I needed to replace three patio doors and one sliding window. I got quotes from three highly recommended companies and all the quotes were competitive. I decided on J&M Glass Company primarily, because it is a family owned company that provides both manufacturing and sales. Because this company has been in business since 1992, this combination provided me confidence that they would stand behind their product and its installation. The work began with the removal of all the blinds, and the installation was completed in two days by Rubin and Jose, who worked quickly and professionally with minimum down time. They did an excellent job of installing the patio doors and sliding window. They finished by replacing the blinds and cleaning up both inside and outside and, for these activities, it looked as if they had never been there. All transactions with J&M Glass Company were done professionally. I highly recommend doing business with J&M Glass Company.

Workers arrived on time each day and did a great job installing the windows and cleaning up after themselves. They worked quickly. Very professional.

The guys showed up each day the the times they said they would be there. Did everything they said they would each day. Took their time to be sure each window was set just right. Cleaned up. Very polite.

In a nutshell, it went very well, and we are extremely pleased with the job that was done. The details: This is a small company in Dallas that purchases components and makes the windows in their factory. We initially scheduled to get a bid, and their salesman, Michael Shelby, came to our home, and gave us information about their company and what they could do. We then decided to visit their showroom when we had additional questions, and they took us into the plant and showed us the operation, including how the windows are glazed and all the construction particulars. There had a display of windows in their showroom, and we looked over the various kinds before making our decision. We had already received two prior bids from other companies, and the bid that was given to us by J&M was lower than both of those bids. We wanted the "Duo Tone" vinyl windows. Another company had quoted something like an additional $4k to do those; however, J&M was very reasonable for that upgrade. Also, in order to cut corners and lower the price, another company had told us we didn't need tempered glass in some areas where code requires tempered glass; so, be careful to know the code for where tempered glass is required. Tempered glass is expensive, but J&M was reasonable with the cost of that as well. Outside of this, one of the main reasons we went with J&M was that they could customize the windows pretty much any way we wanted them, and we changed some of the configurations of our windows. One of the other companies could not make custom windows to fit the "eyebrow" windows in the front of our house, and J&M accommodated. We had to wait about 6 weeks to have the windows installed. The installers, Omar & Carlos, did an excellent, meticulous job. That included cleanup and covering of carpeted areas and nearby furniture. They also pulled the wires for the security system into the new windows, and we contacted our alarm company to finish re-activation of the system. The crew had been with the company for more than 10 years, and quietly did their work to the point you hardly knew they were there. You should know - This company does not do pressure sales, and they have a somewhat laid back attitude. They won't pester you, so if you have questions, you have to e-mail or contact them. They sent a 2 man crew to install the windows, and they'll do about 6 windows or so per day. Our installation took 4 days. I'm not sure if they would double that up if you're in a bigger hurry to get the job done. They take their time and do it right. Needless to say, we're very happy with the work they performed.

It was a Dallas company. They were very good though. Yes, J&M Glass, yes, they were excellent. They did everything right. Perfect.

The company was hard to get ahold of to even schedule a quote. It took days to get them to schedule a day to come out. We should have noted this as the first sign of problems. The company eventually did come out and quote us, and they were scheduled to come out and early March and fix our broken thermal seals on our windows. They missed our appointment, apparently completely forgetting about us and never came out to fix the windows. When we called to figure out why, they said that they had never scheduled us and said we would have to wait an additional 30 to 45 days to have our windows fixed. We asked them for an additional discount for their mistake and they refused. We were very unhappy with their service and unability to communicate with their customers or empathize with a customer that had to take a day off work to wait for this company to show up and do the work, which they never did.

My experience with J&M Glass was overall very positive. They made good on schedule and price. I was very happy with the end results. Ricky from J&M Glass called me back after I found them on Angies List. We set up an appointment time for the free quote. I had one window that was completely broken from a break in. Another two upstairs needed replacement. He arrived on time and got right to work on the quote. We discussed options and he gave me a printed quote that day. I winced at the 5-week waiting period for the installation, but was happy with the price. I got one more quote from another Angies List well-rated window company, but they were not as competitive on price. They were disinterested in negotiating the matter. J&M Glass beat their price even before the 10% Angies List discount. They also had a 3-4 week waiting period for installation. I called Ricky back and sent in the signed quote to get started. My only issue was the wait time to the installation. I had a gaping hole in my house that I had taped up with cardboard. This was also the coldest winter in North Texas on record! But, time and money trade off, so I chose a longer wait for a better price. I gave them a "B" on Responsiveness because a couple times I was told that I would be contacted by someone to measure the windows or set up installation, but I ended up making the call to set the appointments because I didn't hear from them in a couple days. I had a hole in my house, so I was not willing to wait very long! I have several other windows that I will contact J&M Glass to replace in the next year. So, yes, I would do business with them again.

They did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards. It only took them 2 days to complete the job.

Everything went smoothly, from getting the quote through final installation. Ricky, the sales rep, was very knowledgeable and patient, as I had many questions concerning replacement of our old, leaky, windows. He went into quite a lot of detail about the new windows, which I liked. The installers, Omar and Martin, were very efficient and pleasant. They worked quickly, hardly stopping for any breaks if at all, and cleaned up extremely well (I could not tell they had been here after they finished). They also took down and replaced the blinds on several windows. The removal and installation of 13 windows took 3 days. The new vinyl window frames are much wider than our old aluminum frames, and sealed perfectly (which was verified by the city inspector a few days later). I was given a lot of choices as to frame color, window tint (if I wanted it), dividers on the windows if I wanted them, and on three large windows in one room (which also had another regular window for egress) I was able to have the lower panes 1/2 the size of the upper panes (this was for appearance reasons only). I am very pleased with our new windows and highly recommend J&M Glass Company.

They were on-time for the estimate and very professional: provided different quotes for dual or triple panes windows. We ended-up using triple panes windows as the price was almost the same as dual pane with dividers (that my wife didn't want anymore). The installation was done on time as scheduled. As the windows were much wider than the original ones and they could only cut ~3/4" inside the house, they had to add wood trimming outside, which they did without any problem. It matches the original wood that we have (this is not an issue where we have bricks outside). We liked it so much that we decided to finish the rest of the house (16 then 9 windows). The price was very good and we are now very happy to have good windows during the freezing weather in Dallas these days.

All the details? The three crews that were out this last visit were by far the best we have ever had. J&M Thermal Windows has done five homes for us with new windows and doors and also my mother's home. The sales people are excellent when they come to advise and measure each time. Martin Gates, the owner of the company, and his wife Judy, run an excellent organization that is the best in responsiveness, honestly, integrity and carry-through. The jobs have always been completed on time and with efficiency and in five homes, we have never had a window issue that had to be readdressed. My mom did have one screen that needed to be replaced, but we have never encountered any problems. We used J&M Thermal Windows for the first time in 1995 in a 1955 older home in Lake Highlands. We were sold on the quality immediately watching our utility bills drop and the snugness of quiet that enveloped our home. In our current home we were dealing with two story windows in the family room that had the bright Texas east sun rising each morning. Martin knew immediately which windows needed special glass to deal with it and did the same on the west (Front) of the house with our newest windows. Our utility bills were 35 - 40% less this summer with the east windows in, so I am anticipating with the front northwest exposure being done last week to have our utility expenses drop even more. We do have a long history with this company and for a good reason. In the house prior to this one, a modern home built by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, again in the Lake Highlands area, we were dealing with massive walls of windows and glass doors. Not wanting traditional looks, J&M Thermal Windows designed special windows at no additional cost that allow our splits to be lower, but still retaining the ability of double hung windows. The 9 ft slider doors were custom made and were solid. I have to admit that we did price two other companies wanting to make sure again on pricing and quality and J&M Thermal Windows provided more for the money including a higher grade product. We appreciated the ability to break the order up into three purchases to allow us to spread it over six to eight months do to the massive amount of glass needed. The installers are always prompt, courteous and wanting to do the best job for you. They clean up all construction debris and stay late if needed to finish the job. The customer always comes first. J&M Thermal Windows is a company that will custom tailor your windows, your purchasing and the installation. They are professional, personal and they truly CARE about the people they serve with their products. Thanks so much for our new windows. This should be it. The salesperson was very professional and took his time helping me to select my new windows. He also followed up promptly. The installers did a great job and were careful when installing the new windows. This included a large bay window that was complicated. I would definitely recommend them. I love my new windows.

We have four window openings in two bedrooms. Three of those openings are VERY large and require two windows per opening. As we were evaluating the cost for the two rooms, the salesman suggested to save money we could install side sliding windows instead of the typical double hung windows. Essentially these are double hung windows turned on their side so they will slide from either direction. If we go this route there is only one window in each opening. We loved the idea! Would have never thought of it on our own and saved about $800.00.

My husband and I are "pay as you go" people, we did not want to take out a huge loan so I saved over a year to replace the windows, which we needed to do for so long as our windows were horrible, 40 years old, single pane, very leaky and we had large electric bills over the summer. I am very picky about style and wanted good quality as these are not something you replace often. So after looking around town, researching on internet and getting several estimates, we decided to go with this company due to the fact that they manufacture their windows locally and I would say the price is reasonable for the excellent quality of the product. Ricky the salesman was great and worked with us, I am not the easiest person to work with because I am very particular and for us this is a huge investment. They sent someone out to measure, date was set for install. Arturo and Tony were the installers, they are great family men, explained the process, cleaned up as they went along, polite, and very helpful. I could not afford to replace sliding glass doors right now, but Arturo made suggestions and even offered to help my husband remove doors to re-weather strip them. They could not have been more helpful. I had few requests which were met, they insulated very well as the old insulation was gone. The install took less than 4 days for 18 windows, I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. Everything they said they would do, they did. Since the windows are in I am so pleased. The house does not get as dusty, its quieter inside, and the biggest benefit is the temperature is more even, we used to have cold/warm spots in the house and they are gone. We have not yet seen the difference in the electric bill, but have noticed when the neighbors AC is running, ours is not at times. This makes me very : ) I would use this company again in a heartbeat.
