JACK GREGOR & SONS AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING

Good guys, good work & good price. My Trane 5-ton A/C unit had stopped cooling the air. We got one estimate from a repairman we had used before. The price seemed high, so I joined Angie's List and called Jack Gregor & Sons since they were close to my house. They came over within an hour even though I called after 4:30 pm. They checked out my A/C and did a leak trace and confirmed the first repairman's diagnosis, but their bid was MUCH lower. Normally I would want more bids, but the price seemed OK and I didn't think we could get much lower and we hadn't had A/C for four days. We agreed that it was too late to repair the A/C that night (it was dark when they left), so we scheduled the repair for the next morning. They arrived on time the next morning but had to leave fairly soon after that to, I believe to get a part. When they returned they worked diligently for several hours to make the repairs, vacuum the lines, add the Freon, replace the relay, clean the unit, check the pressure, and make sure everything was working before they left. They also seemed genuinely not to mind all my questions and my watching them work. They happily explained and showed me everything they were doing and they weren't being paid by the hour! I really like these guys. Overall I was very happy with the service and the price seemed good (of course I will still get multiple bids in the future), plus they did more work than they quoted. I have already asked them to make a diagnostic visit to look at my in-laws' A/C, so I am already almost a repeat customer. I will definitely get a bid from Jack Gregor & Sons next time I need an A/C repair.

It was Sunday morning when I started feeling warm in the house. I checked the vents and found only warm air coming out. I called Jack Gregor & Sons Air Conditioning and Heating because I had heard good things about them. I asked James Gregor if he could come out on Sunday evening since it was hot and I did not want to take off from work. He said they do not charge extra for evenings or weekends. James came out on time, and promptly found the problem and showed me the bad part and explained why and how it went bad. He had a replacement part in stock that was heavier duty then the original one. The truck was old. He told us it gives high miles per gallon and helps them keep costs down. He then went over the system to check if anything else looked like it might cause a problem soon. He advised us the rest of the system looked OK. He thanked us for the business and gave us a refrigerator magnet and some business cards we plan to share. We gave him a Gatorade which made him happy.
