I suppose they were too busy to call and let me know they were too busy. Never talked to anyone in person. Only talked to their answering service. Will never call them again. Have to enter this now. Someone did call me after 3:00 p.m. on the second day. Told them they were too late. I had already called someone else. They said that was great. I hung up.

gas leak repair
+ -1 moreI called Hunter Plumbing to remove and old gas lamp and to replace it with a new one I had recently purchased. After removing the old gas lamp they realized the gas line was no longer functioning and needed to be capped. They unfortunately did not have the proper fittings to cap the line so they went to the hardware store, purchased the appropriate fitting and returned within 20 minutes. They were able to cap the line and install the new gas lantern without issue. When they left, they cleaned the work area completely and took all of the trash (including the box and packing materials) that our new gas lamp had come with. What s more, because I am a member of the list, they gave me a $49.95 discount that is generally charged with any service call.
Description of Work: Hunter Plumbing removed an old outdoor gas lamp and replaced it with a new one I had recently purchased.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreThey arrived on time, they actually had to wait for me to let them in the house since it was a vacant house. They quickly unhooked and removed the old water heater and then installed the new water heater. They even installed the new one with easy connections where the new owner can easily replace it himself in the future. Also they took the old water heater with them instead of leaving it at the curb.

Description of Work: Hunter replaced two outside hose faucets (front and back yard). They also replaced the connection at the meter to an outside gas light that had been shut off due to a small leak. Using their coupon for Angie's list saved me the service call charge of $49.95.

The plumber that was at my home was very knowledgeable and was great about educating me on the basics of my bathroom plumbing. I really liked the fact that I was not charged for a $49 service fee because I found them on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Hunter repaired a leak in the faucet, in the bathtub and a leak in the bottom of the tank of our toilet. They were here less than an hour and fixed both leaks.

+ -1 moreEven though it was not part of their job description, I'm glad that they took care of it. I have used them before for plumbing purposes and always received great service. I will continue to use them for plumbing but not rat removal. It was a little expensive. They didn't do a very good job reinstalling the siding.
Description of Work: I called them because of a smell in the kitchen even though it was not a plumbing problem; it was a dead rat in the wall. They took care of it anyway.

Description of Work: They fixed a leak under the master bathroom. They had to jack hammer the concrete and they rerouted the pipes so it will be easier to fix next time.

Description of Work: I called on May 31 to schedule an appointment for an estimate on a tank-less water heater and adding water and sewer connections to my garage ($3,000.00). The appointment was scheduled for June 11th between 9 and 11 AM.

They sent two courteous, professional repairmen who quickly understood the jobs I needed done and got right to work inspecting them. They quickly gave me an estimate, and were able to finish the work quickly and very well. My new bath faucet looks perfect and no longer dips, and the fix to my outdoor faucet has lowered my water bill significantly. The plumbers were friendly and efficient, even taking care not to mark my newly refinished floors.
Description of Work: Replaced a bath faucet for me, fixed a leaky outdoor faucet tap by installing a new attachment, repaired the broken water attachment for my fridge.

Nick and Bryan were both very friendly and personable, and Nick took plenty of time to explain to me what he was doing as he worked. I appreciated that he was able to diagnose the problem with the dishwasher and that he gave his assessment that the dishwasher was otherwise in good shape and worth repairing rather than replacing. With the faucet, he did say that they could replace with with the same make/model, but since I'm not overly fond of the style it would be better for me to go ahead and choose what pleases me. OK, so only 1 of the 3 problems has been completely fixed, but I am still pleased with my experience and treatment.
Description of Work: I actually had three problems. My dishwasher wouldn't drain, my kitchen faucet leaked and my toilet kept running. I called and left a message, which was answered within the hour. We scheduled my appointment, and when I told Jessica that I found them listed on Angie's List, she reminded me to print the coupon to save the service call fee. On the day of the appointment, Jessica called to let me know that Nick and Bryan were on their way. Bryan replaced the worn toilet parts that were leaking. The kitchen faucet needs to be replaced and when I select one they will come back and install it. After inspecting the dishwasher, Nick was able to determine that the problem was not a plumbing problem, but the solenoid had burned out. He suggested I check Angie's List for an appliance repairman.

Left cell phone number for call back. No answer by midday on Monday so I called and repeated the request. Mentioned the email but there was no recollection of receiving it. Very unconcerned response. Said that they would call plumber to contact me and schedule visit. Tuesday mid morning - no response so I called another plumber who immediately scheduled a visit to fit with my busy schedule. Will NEVER use this company again. Thank you list for allowing me to register this complaint that hopefully others will see.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreThe install was in a tight place and I had other bids where the plumbers were giving me the run-around because of the placement. VERY happy with Hunter Plumbing, Nick explained how the hot water heater worked, gave me some pointers on flushing the drain pipe, and both were all around fantastic guys to have do the work. I am going to call them back for some bathroom plumbing work that needs to be done. If you don't get a call back right away (which I didn't have any problem with), it's probably because their business is booming!!! If every contractor job could be like this one, I would never gripe about owning my own home...
Description of Work: 50 gal. gas hot water heater in the home was replaced. Nick and Brian also installed a WAGS (Water and Gas Safety valve), which Nick had described to me during their quote visit and said I should research to see if I wanted to include it in the install (since the heater is in an internal hallway inside my home).

I called again, figuring everyone had a bad day, and Hunter plumbing was highly rated on Angie's List. Jessica asked for all of my information and said she would put together a quote and call me back the next day at the latest. It has been almost a month, and she has not called back. I wasn't impressed.
