Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair

Glenn returned my call very promptly from my request for a quote through Angie's List. After describing the issue with the washer & providing him with the model number of the machine Glenn was able to provide us with the information to decide whether to repair or replace our machine. We are opting to replace at this time. It is evident from speaking with Glenn that there is an abundance of knowledge, long term experience and good old fashioned common sense going on with this business and it is much appreciated!!

Ice maker not working. Glenn's son came in and identified the problem (cracked water filter), flushed the line and got us back in business. Price excellent and no overtime charge on weekend.

Horrible! He came out and charged me $50 to clean out the air hose and then left. I ran the dishwasher right after he left and it clogged again. I tried calling him back, but had to keep leaving messages and never got a call back. Then my husband finally got a hold of him and he promised to come back out yesterday at 4pm. He didn't show up or call. My husband called him back, he made an excuse, and then promised to show up today at 4pm. He again didn't show up, and didn't call until way later and then said he would be here between 5:30pm and 6pm. He again didn't show up and finally called and left a message promising to be here at 7:30pm. He never showed, and I finally told him to forget it! I have no idea how they ever got on Angie's List!

As bad as it gets. Left the job without fixing the cooler promising come back with parts. After leaving I discovered that the kitchen floor is badly scratched by him after moving the cooler. Never saw him again after I complained but I got my money for repair back - not the floors. So if you are ready for bigger fixes than you had before calling him go ahead and use his service - otherwise DON'T.

Went great and didn't take long at all!

They diagnose that are refrigerator needed a new compressor. Since is was under warranty from Sears we opted to go with Sears. My wife watch as they moved it out from the wall and commented to the to be careful since they were pretty ruff moving it. The put a dent on the side of the refrigerator while moving it out which probably could have been avoided.

Great - Glenn, the father, came out and fixed it about two hours after I called. Nice man.

I would not hire Glenn again. We had him come over to fix a broken microwave door opening button and replace the door cable for our dishwasher. He pulled out the microwave and scratched up our cabinets. He then partially fixed a broken button, which will still break again in the future, close it up and charged us $90 for that. Since the plastic is broken I am just going to have to fix it again. Had he just purchased a replacement button it would have been far better. He pulled out our dishwasher to diagnose the door and did not push it back in properly. Now we cannot open one of the drawers since the dishwasher sticks out too far. Glenn also left a mess we had to clean up. I told Glenn not to bother coming back to the house. I need to now 1) have the microwave properly repaired, 2) get the dishwasher taken care of, and 3) figure out how to get scratches out of our wood kitchen cabinet.

A part was replaced. However they didn't call when they said they would, or show up . Both times I had them out I had to call several times and see where they were. It was frustrating.

Went well except I had to keep calling them and it took three weeks. I am quite satisfied and shall hire them again for sure.

Glenn had his son come out the same day and determined the coils were dirty which may have been the cause of the problem. He blew out the coils and said it should be cooling again within 24 hours, checked the temp the next day and there was no change in temp. Called back and spoke to Glenn the next day and was told to call another repair company since it is probably the compressor and the dirty coils were most likely the cause of the damage.

It couldn’t have gone better! I called in the middle of a Sunday afternoon and he was here within a couple of hours. My refrigerator was getting warm and the food in my freezer was beginning to thaw. Mr Townsend replaced the bad part and fixed my problem in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable price. By the way, he made the trip from North Dallas to Grand Prairie to do this. I can’t thank him enough!

He got it back working. Works fine now.

I spoke with Glenn and he was able to resolve the issue over the phone for me, saving me time and money. I would definitely call him again to help out with any appliance problems in future. Thank you!

We told them that we had a Miele dishwasher and exactly what was wrong with it. We gave them the model number and the description of the part needed. (We had the problem before) . The guy showed up and hour and 15 minutes late. He had never worked on a Miele dishwasher! He had absolutely no clue. Probably the worst repair experience I have ever had.

Glen came out 5 times before the problem was finally fixed. We spoke with his dad who submitted work order and he would assure us Glen would call to set up times. He didn't. We almost always had to call back. We could have bought a new dishwasher for what we finally paid to get the dishwasher fixed.

Great!!! Glenn is a great guy and very capable. He knows his stuff!!!!!

I originally called a bigger repair company (certified Whirlpool repair co.) who said there was no need for them to come out because my ovens were too old and they wouldn’t be able to get parts. I was researching buying new ovens when i read the reviews for Glenn Townsend. Their ‘old school ‘ approach spoke to me. Glenn Jr was at my door within 30 minutes, immediately diagnosed the problem and replaced a small fuse in the oven — took him 15 minutes. Great work! Saved me SO much money! Will definitely use again.

Mr. Townsend is old school. He asked a few questions on the phone and came to work. He knows his job and ran a few tests. He then took our wall oven apart inside and installed what was needed. Quick and easy. The price was excellent. I would hire him again.

Except for being two hours late, it went very well. The oven door would not detach as it normally should have but Glenn knew what to do and took the door apart and then quickly repaired and reattached it. He also knew how to repair the refrigerator and did so without any problems.

He was very professional and then drove all the way to east Dallas and back to get the replacement board. It works fine now and I'm very satisfied. I would call him again without reservation.

Glenn identified the problem quickly and fixed it in a timely manner. He also gave us advice about preventive maintenance. We have used his services in the past and have always been very satisfied.
